Acoustic waves scattering from a rigid air-saturated porous medium is studied in the time domain. The medium is one dimensional and its physical parameters are depth dependent, i.e., the medium is layered. The loss and dispersion properties of the medium are due to the fluid-structure interaction induced by wave propagation. They are modeled by generalized susceptibility functions which express the memory effects in the propagation process. The wave equation is then a fractional telegraphists equation. The two relevant quantities are the scattering operators—transmission and reflection operators—which give the scattered fields from the incident wave. A new nonlinear wave equation of a finite deformation elastic circular rod simultaneously introducing transverse inertia and shearing strain was derived by means of Hamilton principle. The nonlinear equation includes two nonlinear terms caused by finite deformation and double geometric dispersion effects caused by transverse inertia and transverse shearing strain. Nonlinear wave equation and corresponding truncated nonlinear wave equation were solved by the hyperbolic secant function finite expansion method. An experimental study was conducted on shock wave turbulent boundary layer interactions caused by a blunt swept fin-plate
configuration at Mach numbers of 5.0, 7.8, 9.9 for a Reynolds number range of (1.0∼4.7)×107/m. Detailed heat transfer and pressure distributions were measured at fin deflection angles of up to 30° for a sweepback
angle of 67.6°. Surface oil flow patterns and liquid crystal thermograms as well as schlieren pictures of fin shock shape
were taken. The study shows that the flow was separated at deflection of 10° and secondary separation were detected at deflection
of ϑ≥20°. The heat transfer and pressure distributions on flat plate showed an extensive plateau region followed by a distinct
dip and local peak close to the fin foot. Measurements of the plateau pressure and heat transfer were in good agreement with
existing prediction methods, but pressure and heating peak measurements atM≥6 were significantly lower than predicted by the simple prediction techniques at lower Mach numbers.

This paper is focused on the capabilities of gas–liquid foams to attenuate acoustic waves. It is postulated that the sound attenuation phenomenon in foams is largely governed by the hydrodynamic resistance of the Plateau-Gibbs channels (PGC) to the flow of liquid through them. It is shown that the addition of solid particles to gas–liquid foams has opposite effects depending on the concentration of the added solid particles. As long as the concentration of the added solid particles is smaller than a certain critical value the sound attenuation coefficient increases and as a result in the sound velocity decreases. However, if the concentration of the added solid particles becomes larger than this critical value the attenuation coefficient decreases and the sound velocity increases. When the concentration of the solid particles reaches some critical value, the particles block the Plateau-Gibbs channels and stop the filtration. As a result the attenuation coefficient of the sound wave decreases while the sound velocity, in such three-phase foams, increases. The point at which the sound wave stops attenuating and its velocity starts to increase is known as the point of self-clarification. Based on this postulate and on the results of our preliminary tests the present study provides a plausible explanation to the above-mentioned contradicting effect, and the self- clarification phenomenon. 相似文献
