1H NMR chemical shifts of solutions of the following cationic surfactants in D2O were determined as a function of their concentrations: cetyltrimethylammonium chloride, CTACl, a 1 : 1 molar mixture of CTACl and toluene, cetylpyridinium chloride, CPyCl, cetyldimethylphenylam-monium chloride, CDPhACl, cetyldimethylbenzylammonium chloride, CDBzACl, cetyldimethyl-2-phenylethylammonium chloride, CDPhEtACl, and cetyldimethyl-3-phenylpropylammonium chloride, CDPhPrACl. Plots of observed chemical shifts versus [surfactant] are sigmoidal, and were fitted to a model based on the mass-action law. Satisfactory fitting was obtained for the discrete protons of all surfactants. From these fits, we calculated the equilibrium constant for micelle formation, K, the critical micelle concentration, CMC and the chemical shifts of the monomer, δmon and the micelle δmic. 1H NMR-based CMC values are in excellent agreement with those which we determined by surface tension measurements of surfactant solutions in H2O, allowing for the difference in structure between D2O and H2O. Values of K increase as a function of increasing the size of the hydrophilic group, but the free energy of transfer per CH2 group of the phenylalkyl moiety from bulk water to the micellar interface is approximately constant, 1.9±0.1 kJ mol-1. Values of (δmic–δmon) for the surfactant groups at the interface, e.g., CH3–(CH2)15–N+(CH3)2 and within the micellar core, e.g., CH3–(CH2)15–N+ were used to probe the (average) conformation of the phenyl group in the interfacial region. The picture that emerges is that the aromatic ring is perpendicular to the interface in CDPhACl and is more or less parallel to it in CDBzACl, CDPhEtACl, and CDPhPrACl. The specific conductivity of dodecyldimethylbenzylammonium bromide (C12BBr) in aqueous solutions, in the temperature range of 15 to 40 °C, has been measured as a function of molality. The two breaks which were found on the conductivity against molality plots were attributed to the critical micelle concentration, cmc, and second critical micelle concentration, 2nd cmc, respectively. The ratio of the slopes, S, of the three linear fragments on the plots, S2/S1 and S3/S1, was attributed to the degree of ionization of the micelles at cmc and 2nd cmc respectively. It was shown that the values of the 2nd cmc estimated above 27 °C are only apparent due to thermal disintegration of the micelles. In the temperature range of 15 to 27 °C, the values of the 2nd cmc increase gradually and the plot of the 2nd cmc against temperature is concave. The ratio of 2nd cmc/cmc for C12BBr at 25 °C amounts to 15 and appears to be high compared to the literature values for other surfactants. For comparative purposes the cmc and 2nd cmc values were also estimated conductometrically for decyldimethylbenzylammonium bromide (C10BBr) at 25 °C. The 2nd cmc value for this surfactant is higher compared to the value for the C12 homologue by a factor of 2.6.The standard Gibbs free energies of micellization at cmc and at the 2nd cmc were estimated from the experimental data for both surfactants at 25 °C.  相似文献

Micellar systems are colloids with significant properties for pharmaceutical and food applications. They can be used to formulate thermodynamically stable mixtures to solubilize hydrophobic food-related substances. Furthermore, micellar formation is a complex process in which a variety of intermolecular interactions determine the course of formation and most important are the hydrophobic and hydrophilic interactions between surfactant–solvent and solvent–solvent. Glycols are organic compounds that belong to the group of alcohols. Among them, propane-1,2-diol (PG) is a substance commonly used as a food additive or ingredient in many cosmetic and hygiene products. The nature of the additive influences the micellar structure and properties of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). When increasing the mass fraction of propane-1,2-diol in binary mixtures, the c.m.c. values decrease because propane-1,2-diol is a polar solvent, which gives it the ability to form hydrogen bonds, decreasing the cohesivity of water and reducing the dielectric constant of the aqueous phase. The values of ΔGm0 are negative in all mixed solvents according to the reduction in solvophobic interactions and increase in electrostatic interaction. With the rising concentration of cosolvent, the equilibrium between cosolvent in bulk solution and in the formed micelles is on the side of micelles, leading to the formation of micelles at a lower concentration with a small change in micellar size. According to the 1H NMR, with the addition of propylene glycol, there is a slight shift of SDS peaks towards lower ppm regions in comparison to the D2O peak. The shift is more evident with the increase in the amount of added propane-1,2-diol in comparison to the NMR spectra of pure SDS. Addition of propane-1,2-diol causes the upfield shift of the protons associated with hydrophilic groups, causing the shielding effect. This signifies that the alcohol is linked with the polar head groups of SDS due to its proximity to the SDS molecules.  相似文献

To investigate the pharmacokinetic mechanism of hepatobiliary excretion and brain distribution of caffeine, this study uses a method based on microdialysis technique and liquid chromatography that allows continuous and concurrent in vivo monitoring of extracellular caffeine in the blood, brain and bile of anesthetized rats following the administration of caffeine (3 or 10 mg/kg, i.v.) through the femoral vein. Dialysates of the blood, brain and bile were directly injected onto the liquid chromatographic system and no further clean-up procedures were required. The study design consisted of two groups of six rats in parallel: the rats of the control group received caffeine (3 or 10 mg/kg, i.v.) alone and those of the cyclosporine treated-group were injected cyclosporine (10 mg/kg, i.v.) 10 min prior to caffeine administration (3 or 10 mg/kg, i.v.). The decline of caffeine in the blood, brain striatum and bile suggested that caffeine had rapid exchange and equilibration between the peripheral compartment and the central nervous system. In addition, the results indicated that caffeine underwent hepatobiliary excretion and was distributed into brain. When cyclosporine was co-administered, the pharmacokinetic parameters were not significantly altered. The results of this study reveal that the pharmacokinetic mechanism of hepatobiliary excretion and brain distribution of caffeine might not relate to P-glycoprotein.  相似文献

The column-switching technique has been widely used to determine trace level ions in the presence of high concentration matrix. A novel simplified column-switching method is proposed where bromate (as a model compound) was determined using this technique. The switching time window was confirmed by the retention time of determined ions. This technique can completely carry out the same function as the other column-switching technique do, but only one extra ten-way injection valve coupled to ion chromatograph was used. By using column-switching technique, it is possible to determine 0.2 μg L−1 bromate in the presence of 100 mg L−1 chloride by direct injection of 2000 μL without any pretreatment and the relative standard deviation (RSD) of the peak height for the eleven successive injections of 0.2 μg L−1 bromate solution is 23.1%. The detection limit for bromate is 0.09 μg L−1, which showed the method was very sensitive. The technique has been applied to the determination of bromate in drinking water, and the spike recovery is in the range of 96–104%.  相似文献

 Upper-critical-solution-temperature (UCST) behavior in a ternary blend of poly(2,6-dimethyl-1,4-phenylene oxide), poly(4-methyl styrene), and polystyrene is reported. The as-cast ternary blend is immiscible at ambient conditions and comprises two different phases, and, however, turns into a miscible system above the “clarity point” ranging from 160 to 300 °C for different ternary compositions. The maximum clarity point is labeled as the UCST for the ternary system, which is about 295 °C. Above the clarity point, the originally immiscible ternary blend turned into one miscible phase. Owing to the thermodynamic UCST behavior and kinetic hindrance, the immiscible ternary polymer blend can be locked into a pseudo-miscible state if it is heated to a temperature above the clarity point followed by a rapid-cooling processing scheme. The quenched ternary blend can remain in a pseudo-miscible state as long as the service temperature does not exceed the glass-transition temperature of the blend. The ostwald absorption coefficient of argon was measured in aqueous solutions of two surfactants; sodium n-octanoate and in sodium dodecylsulfate, at several concentrations and at a few temperatures between 10–25°C. The free energies, entropies and enthalpies of solution were computed. A tentative interpretation of the results is given, based on a competition between the solubilization and the salting-out effects of the surfactants.  相似文献

It was believed that electroosmotic mobility μeo is inversely proportional to the square root of the ionic strength L But the linear relationship for regression analysis was expressed differently in different papers. The paper studied the linear expression of the mathematical relationship between μeo and c (background buffer concentration) by mathematical transform and real experimental data.μeo values of fused silica capillary were determined in four buffer systems. Their experimental conditions were controlled carefully for decreasing temperature difference AT and pH difference ApH in 50 μm ID capillary, in which no double layer overlap existed. The linear relationship between the reciprocal of electroosmotic mobility and the square root of concentration (or ionic strength) was derived by mathematical method. The regression analysis of experimental data was shown to well correspond to the relationship. The constants in regression equation could be well defined and the calculated results were acceptable.  相似文献

Although recent decades have witnessed the synthesis of 1,3,4-thiadiazoles via phosphorus POCl3-promoted cyclization reaction, simultaneous access to 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole and 2-amino-1,3,4-oxadiazole analogs remains unexpected and elusive. Herein, a detailed regiocontrolled synthesis of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles in good to high yields with good regioselectivities from readily available thiosemicarbazides using POCl3 was disclosed. Meantime, to establish a comprehensive structure–activity relationship, 2-amino-1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives as single regioisomers were prepared via EDCI·HCl-triggered cyclization of the thiosemicarbazide intermediates. The in vitro anti-influenza assays proved that the selected compounds with the pyrazine/pyridine ring exhibited certain inhibitory activities against influenza A virus strains A/HK/68 (H3N2) and A/PR/8/34 (H1N1) in MDCK cells. Among them, N-(adamantan-1-yl)-5-(5-(azepan-1-yl)pyrazin-2-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-amine (4j) was the most active compound, and exhibited favorable activity with EC50 values of 3.5 μM and 7.5 μM, respectively. In addition, the molecular docking results explained the reason why compound 4j had dual inhibitory activity and revealed the reasonable binding mode of this compound with the M2-S31N and M2-WT ion channels. This compound had the potential to be further developed as an anti-influenza drug.  相似文献

The dependent relation between temperature and pressure of supercritical CO2+ ethanol binary system under the pressure range from 5 to 10 MPa with the variety of densities and mole fractions of ethanol that range from 0 to 2% was investigated by the static visual method in a constant volume. The critical temperature and pressure were experimentally determined simultaneously. The PTρ figures at different ethanol contents were described based on the determined pressure and temperature data, from which pressure of supercritical CO2 + ethanol binary system was found to increase linearly with the increasing temperature. P-T lines show certain convergent feature in a specific concentration of ethanol and the convergent points shift to the region of higher temperature and pressure with the increasing ethanol compositions. Furthermore, the effect of density and ethanol concentration on the critical point of CO2 + ethanol binary system was discussed in details. Critical points increase linearly with the increasing mole fraction of ethanol in specific density and critical points change at different densities. The critical compressibility factors Zc of supercritical CO2 + ethanol binary systems at different compositions of ethanol were calculated and Z c figure was obtained accordingly. It was found from Z c figure that critical compressibility factors of supercritical CO2 unitary or binary systems decline linearly with the increasing density, by which the critical point can be predicted precisely.  相似文献
