奇点理论浅引

本文是奇点理论的非正式的介绍。主要内容包括奇点分类与奇点拓扑的基本问题与结果。特别突出了简单奇点的券的性质及其与Ｌｉｅ代数的关系。本文的目的在于引起读者对一分支的兴趣。     

Complexity of tensor products of modules and a theorem of Huneke-Wiegand

This paper concerns the notion of complexity, a measure of the growth of the Betti numbers of a module. We show that over a complete intersection the complexity of the tensor product of two finitely generated modules is the sum of the complexities of each if for . One of the applications is simplification of the proofs of central results in a paper of C. Huneke and R. Wiegand on the tensor product of modules and the rigidity of Tor.

     

An intersection number for the punctual Hilbert scheme of a surface

We compute the intersection number between two cycles and of complementary dimensions in the Hilbert scheme parameterizing subschemes of given finite length of a smooth projective surface . The -cycle corresponds to the set of finite closed subschemes the support of which has cardinality 1. The -cycle consists of the closed subschemes the support of which is one given point of the surface. Since is contained in , indirect methods are needed. The intersection number is , answering a question by H. Nakajima.

     

Asymptotics of the parabolic Green function for an elliptic operator on a manifold with conical points

We construct the asymptotics ast→0 of the trace of the operator exp(−tP) for an elliptic operatorP on a manifold with conical points. Cover and Bounded Parallel Faces

We use the cover or the closure of the cover in order to determine when two disjoint closed convex sets have parallel faces, one of them being bounded. Moreover, we show that the study of the closure of the cover gives interesting results about the cover itself.     

Flow properties of a dusty-gas point source in a supersonic free stream

By using Lagrangian method, the flow properties of a dusty-gas point source in a supersonic free stream were studied and the particle parameters in the near-symmetry-axis region were obtained . It is demonstrated that fairly inertial particles travel along oscillating and intersecting trajectories between the bow and termination shock waves . In this region, formation of " mufti- layer structure" in panicle distribution with alternating low- and high density layers is revealed. Moreover, sharp accumulation of particles occurs near the envelopes of particle trajectories .     

The Positivity of Intersection Multiplicities and Symbolic Powers of Prime Ideals

Serre's nonnegativity conjecture for intersection multiplicities has recently been proven by O. Gabber. In this paper we investigate Serre's positivity conjecture using the methods which he developed. We show in particular that the positivity conjecture has implications for properties of symbolic powers of prime ideals in regular local rings.     

Separating invariants and finite reflection groups

A separating algebra is, roughly speaking, a subalgebra of the ring of invariants whose elements distinguish between any two orbits that can be distinguished using invariants. In this paper, we introduce a geometric notion of separating algebra. This allows us to prove that only groups generated by reflections may have polynomial separating algebras, and only groups generated by bireflections may have complete intersection separating algebras.
