Frequency domain (FD) fluorescence lifetime data was collected for a series of 20 crude petroleum oils using a 405 nm excitation
source and over a spectral range of ~426 to ~650 nm. Average fluorescence lifetimes were calculated using three different
models: discrete multi-exponential, Gaussian distribution, and Lorentzian distribution. Fitting the data to extract accurate
average lifetimes using the various models proved easier and less time consuming for the FD data than with Time Correlated
Single Photon Counting (TCSPC) methods however the analysis of confidence intervals to the computed average lifetimes proved
cumbersome for both methods. The uncertainty in the average lifetime was generally larger for the discrete lifetime multi-exponential
model when compared to the distribution-based models. For the lifetime distributions, the data from the light crude oils with
long lifetimes generally fit to a single decay term. Heavier oils with shorter lifetimes required multiple decay terms. The
actual value for the average lifetime is more dependant on the specific fitting model employed than the data acquisition method
used. Correlations between average fluorescence lifetimes and physical and chemical parameters of the crude oils were made
with a view to developing a quantitative model for predicting the gross chemical composition of crude oils. It was found that
there was no significant benefit gained by using FD over TCSPC other than more rapid data analysis in the FD case. For the
FD data the Gaussian distribution model for fluorescence lifetime gave the best correlations with chemical composition allowing
a qualitative correlation to some bulk oil parameters.

In this paper, wax deposition in waxy crude oil transportation process was regarded as an irreversible process. Based on the entropy production rate equations, the linear phenomenological equations for the diffusion of wax molecules were derived by using the theory and method of non-equilibrium thermodynamics and heat-mass transfer. Combined with the mass and energy conservation laws, the differential equations of heat and mass transfer in the process of pipeline transportation were established, and the molecular diffusion rate of dissolved wax was solved. On the basis of this, the mathematical model of actual wax deposition rate was established by considering the attachment process and scouring process of the wax molecules. Taking an oil pipeline in Daqing as an example, the change law and influencing factors of the wax molecular diffusion coefficient, the wax deposition rate, and the net wax deposition rate were studied by numerical simulation. The wax deposition rate test results of the laboratory loop test were compared with the theoretical calculation results in order to analyze the accuracy and the adaptability of heat and mass coupling mechanism and to provide a theoretical basis for further study of wax deposition in the process of waxy oil pipeline transportation. 相似文献

The present study elucidates the creaming phenomenon of mineral oil-in-water macroemulsion using a new noninvasive method based on turbidimetry. Additionally, microscopic observation of the phenomenon is carried out to derive an in-depth understanding of the mechanisms. Accumulation of the particles in the emulsions under the formed cream is monitored during a relatively prolonged period of time. Backflow of continuous and dispersed phases in temporary channels is observed at the proximity of the cream. In addition to the backflow, a high traffic density of the dispersed particles and deflocculation of the cream are the main reasons for the accumulation of the dispersed phase particles and a temporary stability against creaming. The deflocculation hinders cream growth and increases the stratification of the cream. A low concentration zone of the dispersed phase with the width of ~100?µm is observed under the cream. 相似文献

Efficiencies of cationic gemini surfactant additives in improving the pour point depressant of crude oil were investigated. The length of alkyl chain is a major factor affecting the improvement of the pour point depression. The adsorption behavior of these gemini surfactants at air/solution and oil/solution interfaces were investigated by measuring the surface tension and interfacial tension as functions of concentration. It is found that there is a good relation between surface properties especially interfacial tension of the gemini surfactants and their efficiency in depressing the pour point. Also, the surface parameters and free energies of micellization and adsorption confirm the decreasing and improving of pour point depression. Crystallization study in crude oil revealed the relationship between the structure and activity of gemini surfactant additives. It is found that the x-ray diffraction patterns of waxes with additives are remarkably different from those without additives. The mechanism of the depressants action has been suggested according the adsorption of each additive. Adsorption of the additive on the surface of the wax particles inhibits their growth and alters the crystal habits through micelle core. Pretreatment of the crude oil with pour point depressants has received the greatest acceptance due to its simplicity and economy. 相似文献

Utilisation of Anagrus nilaparvatae is a promising and effective method for planthoppers manipulation. Twenty-seven components of remote lemongrass (Cymbopogon distans) oil were identified by GC/MS and nine volatiles were selected for behavioural experiments. In this study, we noted that the remote lemongrass oil was attractive to female A. nilaparvatae at concentrations of 0.1 and 1 mg/L. α-Pinene, β-pinene, eucalyptol, carveol and D-carvone attracted female wasps in the dose-dependent bioassays. Blend 1 (a mixture of eucalyptol, D-carvone, carveol, α-pinene, and β-pinene with ratios of remote lemongrass oil volatiles of 625:80:11:5:3) attracted female wasps at 10 mg/L, while blend 2 (a mixture of the same five volatiles at the same loading ratio) attracted them at 0.1 and 1 mg/L. These results suggested that plant essential oils could be attractants for natural enemies to control pests. The ratios of volatiles in the mixtures affect the attractiveness of the synthetic mixtures. 相似文献

Nanosheet of PdNiZn and nanosphere of PdNiZn/reduced‐graphene oxide (RGO) with sub‐3 nm spheres have been successfully synthesized through a facile oil‐water interfacial strategy. The morphology and composition of the films were determined by X‐ray diffraction (XRD), X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive analysis of X‐ray (EDAX) and elemental mapping. In the present study, we have developed a method to minimize the usage of precious Pd element. Due to the special structure and intermetallic synergies, the PdNiZn and PdNiZn/RGO nanoalloys exhibited enhanced catalytic activity and durability relative to Pd nanoparticles in Suzuki‐Miyaura C‐C cross‐coupling reaction. Compared to classical cross‐coupling reactions, this method has the advantages of a green solvent, short reaction times, low catalyst loading, high yields and reusability of the catalysts. 相似文献

Inulin, rice bran oil and rosemary essential oil were used to produce high quality emulsion filled gel (EFG) using ultrasonic radiation. Response surface methodology was used to investigate the effects of oil content, inulin content and power of ultrasound on the stability and consistency of prepared EFG. The process conditions were optimized by conducting experiments at five different levels. Second order polynomial response surface equations were developed indicating the effect of variables on EFG stability and consistency. The oil content of 18%; inulin content of 44.6%; and power of ultrasound of 256 W were found to be the optimum conditions to achieve the best EFG stability and consistency. Microstructure and rheological properties of prepared EFG were investigated. Oil oxidation as a result of using ultrasonic radiation was also investigated. The increase of oxidation products and the decrease of total phenolic compounds as well as radical scavenging activity of antioxidant compounds showed the damaging effect of ultrasound on the oil quality of EFG. 相似文献
