The experimental electron density distribution in taurine, 2-aminoethane sulfonic acid, 1, has been determined from high-resolution X-ray diffraction data collected at a temperature of 100 K. Taurine crystallizes as a zwitterion in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/c. Topological analysis of the experimental electron density and a comparison with high-level theoretical gas-phase calculations show that the crystal environment has a significant influence on the electronic configuration of the sulfonate moiety in 1, which in the crystal is more delocalized than in the gas phase. A new infrared-spectroscopic method to characterize acid sites of zeolites using small and weakly basic molecules such as diatomic and monoatomic molecules is reviewed. It has been revealed that N2 is an effective probe molecule to characterize both Brønsted acidity and Lewis acidity of H-form zeolites. The characteristics of the N 2 probe are discussed in detail in comparison with the CO probe. O2 and rare gases have also been applied to monitor the strong acid sites in the H-form zeolites. A new complex, {[Cu(phen)3](SO4)(H3PCA)2(8H2O)}, was synthesized and structurally characterized by single-crystal X-ray analysis. The complex is composed of copper cations, sulfate anions, 1,10-phenanthroline, protocatechuic acid and lattice water molecules. The structure of H3PCA, SO42- and waters comprises packing of anionic three-dimensional network by hydrogen bonds with cavities. The complex can be considered as a model of host/guest supramolecule. The three-dimensional hydrogen-bonding network is the host species. The Cu(phen)32+ cations, guest species, occupied the cavities of the host. And the results demonstrate that the form of protocatechuic acid at pH< 1 should be free ligand. CCDC: 191733. 相似文献

Summary We compare two methods (Mulliken charges and a distributed multipole analysis, DMA) of representing an ab initio charge distribution for calculating the electrostatic field and potential outside the molecule, using pyrimidine and the RNA base uracil as examples. This is done using a 3-D graphical display of the electrostatic fields, which, when used with real-time rotation, zooming and clipping, has many advantages for qualitatively assessing the electrostatic interactions of a molecule. The errors involved in using Mulliken point charges may be of similar magnitude to the total electrostatic field in regions which are important in recognition processes. The DMA representation automatically includes the anisotropic electrostatic effects of non-spherical features in the charge distribution of each atom, and yet the displayed electrostatic fields around the atoms which have lone-pair density do not show marked anisotropy. 相似文献

Li6[TeMo6O24] · 18 H2O is triclinic (space group P1 , a = 1 041.7(1), b = 1 058.6(1), c = 1 070.8(1) pm, α = 61.08(1), β = 60.44(1), γ = 73.95(1)°). Single crystal X-ray structure analysis (Z = 1, 295 K, 317 parameters, 3 973 reflections, Rg = 0.0250) revealed an infinite branched chain of edge-sharing Li coordination polyhedra to be the prominent structural feature. One of the four crystallographically independent Li+ is coordinated octahedrally. The coordination polyhedra of the remaining Li+ are distorted trigonal bipyramids. Only three unique oxygen atoms (O(9), O(10), O(12)) of the centrosymmetric [TeMo6O24]6? anion are bound to Li+. The further positions in the coordination spheres of the Li+ are occupied by water molecules. Intermolecular hydrogen bonds involve mainly oxygen atoms of the [TeMo6O24]6? anion as nearly equivalent proton acceptors without regard to their different bonding modes to Te and Mo, respectively. Li6[TeMo6O24] · Te(OH)6 · 18 H2O crystallizes monoclinically in space group P21/n with Z = 4, a = 994.1(3), b = 2 344.8(10), c = 1 764.9(4) pm, and β = 91.36(4)°. Single crystal structure analysis with least squares refinement of 627 parameters (5 900 reflections, 295 K) converged to Rg = 0.0324. There are six unique Li+ cations. The coordination polyhedra of Li(1), Li(2), Li(3), and Li(4) are linked by common edges to yield an eight membered centrosymmetric strand. The coordination polyhedra of the remaining two Li+ sites (Li(5), Li(6)) are connected to a dimeric unit via a common corner. All oxygen atoms of the Te(OH)6 molecule are involved in the coordination of Li+. However, only three oxygen atoms (O(13), O(18), O(23)) of the [TeMo6O24]6? anion which lacks crystallographic symmetry are involved in the coordination of Li+. The oxygen atoms of the anion act as proton acceptors in hydrogen bonds of predominantly medium strength. Te(OH)6 molecules and [TeMo6O24]6? anions connected by strong hydrogen bonds form an infinite chain. 相似文献

complexes is the formation of molecular ladder and lamellar topology through the crystal packing arrangement, determined by
both strong O–H···Cl and weak (however, multiple) C–H···Cl hydrogen-bonding interactions, to maintain the neutral/cationic
metal-ligand coordination units linked to each other. In 3, additional secondary interactions are observed involving coordinated solvent and the counter-ion. The results presented
here demonstrate that (i) the choice of organic ligands to provide flexibility and inherent potential to participate in hydrogen-bonding

The singlet oxygen (1Δg) photooxidations of angelic acid salt (1), tiglic acid salt (2), 2,3-dimethyl-2-butenoic acid salt (3), 3-ethoxycarbonyl-5,6-dihydro-2-methyl-4H-pyrane acid salt (4), cis-3-hexenoic acid salt (5), and trans-3-hexenoic acid salt (6) were conducted in deuterated water. The major and minor ene allylic hydroperoxide products were quantified and indicate that the allylic hydrogen geminal to the carboxylate group is preferentially abstracted in 1-4, whereas the allylic hydrogen α to the carboxylate is slightly favored for 5 and 6. We have attributed the observed regiochemistry in 1-4 to stabilizing hydrogen bonding interactions between the solvent and the perepoxide, which leads to the major ene product. 相似文献

Ab initio calculations on the different associated structures of 2-pyrrolidinone with water and with itself were carried out using 3-21G and 6-31G* basis sets at the Hartree–Fock level, including electron correlation using second-order Møller–Plesset perturbation theory. The calculated free energy changes for the intermolecular hydrogen bonded dimer and hydrated species indicated that the molecular systems with cyclic dimerization and association with two water molecules are dominant.
