We investigate the statistical and dimensional properties of uniform star polymers attached by the branching vertex of degreef in a wedge geometry in three dimensions and described by the wedge angles and. We show that the growth constant is equal to f , where is the self-avoiding walk limit. Thef and (, ) dependences of the corresponding critical exponent f (, ) are studied using Monte Carlo techniques. In the casef=1, our results are compared with existing predictions obtained from series expansion and renormalization group methods. We have also estimated the amplitudes for the mean square radius of gyration and the mean square end-to-end branch length. Our results for the ratio of the mean square radius of gyration of anf-star to that of a linear polymer of the same degree of polymerization attached in a similar wedge, and the analogous ratio for the mean square end-to-end branch length, are consistent with these ratios being lattice-independent quantities.  相似文献

A one-dimensional kinetic Ising model with Glauber dynamics subjected to a slow continuous quench to zero temperature is studied. For a rather general class of cooling schemes, described by a time-dependent temperatureT(t), the mean domain sizeL(t) is calculated along with the residual energye res (r) as a function of the cooling rater. If the attempt frequency =0 exp(–/kT), entering into the transition rates, is temperature dependent (i.e., the barrier is non-zero), the asymptotic growth ofL(t) is given byL()–L(t)~exp[–/kT(t)]. For this case the residual energy exhibits a power-law behaviore res(r) ~r /2(1 + ) forr small, where =4J/ andJ is the nearest neighbor coupling constant. Crystal Structure of Hexamine Cyclotriphosphazene, P3N3(NH2)6 In the presence of KNH2 hexamine cyclotriphosphazene semi ammoniate (molar ratio 12:1) in NH3 gives crystals of solvent free P3N3(NH2)6 within 5 d at 130°C and p(NH3) = 110 bar. The structure was solved by X-rax methods: P3N3(NH2)6: P21/c, Z = 4, a = 10.889(6) Å, b = 5.9531(6) Å, c = 13.744(8) Å, β = 97.83(3)°, Z(Fo) = 1 721 with (Fo)2 ≥ 3σ(Fo)2, Z(var.) = 157, R/Rw = 0,036/0,041 The structure contains columns of molecules P3N3(NH2)6 all in the same orientation. The six-membered rings within one molecule have boat conformation. The columns are stacked together in a way that one is surrounded by four others shifted by half a lattice constant in direction [010]. Strong hydrogen bridge-bonds N? H…?N connect molecules within the columns and between them.  相似文献

The growth rate of isotactic polypropylene is deduced from microscopic observations during isothermal crystallizations. A change in the growth regime is observed at 138 C and interpreted as a Regime III Regime II transition, according to Hoffman's kinetic theory of polymer crystallization. A Regime II Regime I transition is also theoretically predicted at 155 C, i. e. at a temperature outside the investigated temperature range. The Regime III Regime II transition is related to the positive to negative change in the spherulite birefringence, which is generally attributed to a change in the organization of crystalline lamellae: quadritic arrays of intercrossing lamellae atT c < 138 C (Regime III) and preferentially radiating lamellae atT c > 138 C (Regime II). It is suggested that such a morphological change could be interpreted using the concept of non-adjacent re-entry introduced in Hoffman's kinetic theory. This interpretation could also explain the interspherulitic ruptures observed in negative spherulites.  相似文献

Photosynthetic suspension cultures of higher plants offer an alternative approach to biomass production, potentially yielding cellulosic material and protein on a continuous year-round basis. A bench-top hybrid photobioreactor was developed to study photomixotrophic and photoautotrophic growth of Glycine max as a model system. Maximum biomass doubling times for photomixotrophic and photoautotrophic growth were 1.87 and 3.92 d, respectively. The presence of exogenous sugars resulted in photomixotrophic growth, reduced chlorophyll levels, and a reduction in photosynthetically-evolved oxygen. Depletion of carbohydrates from the medium coincided with the beginning of stationary phase and an increase in oxygen evolution by the cells. A second growth phase, prolonging cell viability, could be initiated by increasing the carbon dioxide from 2 to 5%, just before the onset of stationary phase. Biomass from bioreactor cultured cells proved resistant to enzymatic attack without pretreatment. Composition of the biomass was 7.8% lignin, 20.7% α-cellulose, 23% hemicellulose, 5.5% starch, 14.5% protein and 6.5% nucleic acids.  相似文献

We present a new formulation of a class of growth models-those which evolve according to an exclusion process. This formulation is based upon a transformation of the probability distribution function which involves Grassmann variables.
