A general theory for the study of degenerate Hopf bifurcation in the presence of symmetry has been carried out only in situations where the normal form equations decouple into phase/amplitude equations. In this paper we prove a theorem showing that in general we expect such degeneracies to lead to secondary torus bifurcations. We then apply this theorem to the case of degenerate Hopf bifurcation with triangular (D3) symmetry, proving that in codimension two there exist regions of parameter space where two branches of asymptotically stable 2-tori coexist but where no stable periodic solutions are present. Although this study does not lead to a theory for degenerate Hopf bifurcations in the presence of symmetry, it does present examples that would have to be accounted for by any such general theory.  相似文献

The behavior of single-degree-of-freedom systems possessing quadratic and cubic nonlinearities subject to parametric excitation is investigated. Both fundamental and principal parametric resonances are considered. A global bifurcation diagram in the excitation amplitude and excitation frequency domain is presented showing different possible stable steady-state solutions (attractors). Fractal basin maps for fundamental and principal parametric resonances when three attractors coexist are presented in color. An enlargement of one region of the map for principal parametric resonance reveals a Cantor-like set of fractal boundaries. For some cases, both periodic and chaotic attractors coexist.  相似文献

采用Boltzmann积分型本构关系描述铺设单层的黏弹性力学行为,基于DMV扁壳假定和Kármán- Donnell几何非线性关系,研究了对称铺设黏弹性层合圆柱壳的前屈曲变形特征和分岔蠕变屈曲.对玻璃纤维/环氧树脂基复合材料层合圆柱壳的分析结果表明,在前屈曲阶段,挠曲变形和环向薄膜力随时间的变化趋势主要取决于圆柱壳的铺设方式,可以呈现完全相反的变化特征;层合短圆柱壳两端的边界条件对其蠕变分岔屈曲行为有决定性的影响,径厚比的增加将使分岔形式的延迟失稳现象更加明显.  相似文献

The walk of animals is achieved by the interaction between the dynamics of their mechanical system and the central pattern generator (CPG). In this paper, we analyze dynamic properties of a simple walking model of a biped robot driven by a rhythmic signal from an oscillator. In particular, we examine the long-term global behavior and the bifurcation of the motion that leads to chaotic motion, depending on the model parameter values. The simple model consists of a hip and two legs connected at the hip through a rotational joint. The joint is driven by a rhythmic signal from an oscillator, which is an open loop. In order to analyze the bifurcation, we first obtained approximate solutions of the walking motion and then constructed discrete dynamics using the Poincaré map. As a result, we found that consecutive period-doubling bifurcations occur as the model parameter values change, and that the walking motion leads to chaotic motion over the critical value of the model parameters. Moreover, we approximately obtained the period-doubling solutions and the critical value by employing a Newton-Raphson method. Our analytical results were verified by the numerical simulations.  相似文献

The stability of a cantilever elastic beam with rectangular cross-section under the action of a follower tangential force and a bending conservative couple at the free end is analyzed. The beam is herein modeled as a non-linear Cosserat rod model. Non-linear, partial integro-differential equations of motion are derived expanded up to cubic terms in the transversal displacement and torsional angle of the beam. The linear stability of the trivial equilibrium is studied, revealing the existence of buckling, flutter and double-zero critical points. Interaction between conservative and non-conservative loads with respect to the stability problem is discussed. The critical spectral properties are derived and the corresponding critical eigenspace is evaluated.  相似文献

The nonlinear oscillations of a controlled suspended elastic cable under in-plane excitation are considered. Active control realized by longitudinal displacement of one support is introduced in order to reduce the transverse in-plane and out-of-plane vibrations. Linear and quadratic enhanced velocity feedback control laws are chosen and their effects on the cable motion are investigated using a two degree-of-freedom model. Perturbation analysis is performed to determine the in-plane steady-state solutions and their stability under an out-of-plane disturbance. The analysis is extended to the bifurcated two-mode steady-state oscillations in the region of parametric excitation. The dependence of the control effectiveness on the system parameters is investigated in the case of the first symmetric mode and the range of oscillation amplitudes in which the proposed control ensures a dissipation of energy is determined. Although control based only on in-plane response quantities is effective in reducing oscillations with a prevailing in-plane component, addition of out-of-plane measures has to be considered when the motion is characterized by two comparable components.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the dynamic behaviour of saddle form cable-suspended roofs under vertical excitation action. The governing equations of this problem are system of nonlinear partial differential and integral equations. We first establish a spectral equation, and then consider a model with one coefficient, i.e., a perturbed Duffing equation. The analytical solution is derived for the Duffing equation. Successive approximation solutions can be obtained in likely way for each time to only one new unknown function of time. Numerical results are given for our analytical solution. By using the Melnikov method, it is shown that the spectral system has chaotic solutions and subharmonic solutions under determined parametric conditions.  相似文献

In this paper the nonlinear response of a base-excited slender beam carrying an attached mass is investigated with 1:3:9 internal resonances for principal and combinationparametric resonances. Here the method of normal forms is used to reduce the second order nonlinear temporal differential equation of motion of the system to a set offirst order nonlinear differential equations which are used to find the fixed-point, periodic, quasi-periodic and chaotic responses of the system.Stability and bifurcation analysis of the responses are carried out and bifurcation sets are plotted.
