Aromatization of Hantzsch 1,4-Dihydropyridines with Al(NO3)3·9H2O and/or Fe(NO3)3·9H2O in the Presence of Silica Sulfuric Acid Under Mild and Heterogeneous Conditions

A simple and convenient method for the aromatization of Hantzsch 1,4-dihydropyridines to the corresponding pyridines is achieved via combination of aluminum or ferric nitrates and silica sulfuric acid as environmentally friendly and novel oxidizing media. This oxidation was carried out in dichloromethane under heterogeneous conditions with good to excellent yields.     

Benzyltriphenylphosphonium Chlorochromate: A Mild and Novel Reagent for Oxidation of Benzylic and Allylic Alcohols Under Non-Aqueous and Aprotic Conditions or Microwave Conditions

This paper describes the oxidation of benzylic and allylic alcohols under non-aqueous and aprotic conditions or microwave conditions using benzyltriphenylphosphonium chlorochromate (1) PhCH₂PPh₃CrO₃.HCl which has been prepared by mixing an aqueous solution of benzyltriphenylphosphonium chloride with CrO₃ in 6 N HCl at room temperature. This reagent is stable orange powder which may be stored for months without loss of its activity. This compound is readily soluble in organic solvents such as acetonitrile, chloroform and dichloromethane and slightly soluble in carbon tetrachloride, ether and hexane. the oxidation under microwave conditions is much more faster.     

Development of a manual method for the determination of mineral oil in foods and paperboard

So far the majority of the measurements of mineral oil saturated hydrocarbons (MOSH) and mineral oil aromatic hydrocarbons (MOAH) were obtained from on-line high performance liquid chromatography–gas chromatography–flame ionization detection (on-line HPLC–GC–FID). Since this technique is not available in many laboratories, an alternative method with more easily available tools has been developed. Preseparation on a small conventional liquid chromatographic column was optimized to achieve robust separation between the MOSH and the MOAH, but also to keep out the wax esters from the MOAH fraction. This was achieved by mixing a small portion of silica gel with silver nitrate into highly activated silica gel and by adding toluene into the eluent for the MOAH. Toluene was also added to the MOSH fraction to facilitate reconcentration and to serve as a keeper preventing loss of volatiles during solvent evaporation. A 50 μl volume was injected on-column into GC–FID to achieve a detection limit for MOSH and MOAH below 1 mg/kg in most foods.     

Ferric(III) Nitrate Supported on Kieselguhr: A New Reagent for Selective Oxidation of Alcohols

A selective and effective oxidation of alcohols into the corresponding aldehydes and ketones, respectively, with a new reagent, ferric(III) nitrate supported on kieselguhr, under heterogeneous conditions is reported.     

Solvent‐Free Iodination of Arenes using Iodine–Silver Nitrate Combination

A simple and environmentally safe general method of iodination of aromatic substrates under sovent‐free conditions using the I₂/AgNO₃ combination in a solid state is reported. Both activated and deactivated aromatic compounds afford the respective aryl iodides in generally high yields (80–90%).     

Activation of Iron (III) and Bismuth (III) Nitrates by Tungstophosphoric Acid: Solvent‐Free Oxidative Deprotection of Oximes to Carbonyl Compounds

Abstract

Tungstophosphoric acid (H₃PW₁₂O₄₀ · 6H₂O) has been used as a catalyst for a simple, rapid, selective, and solvent‐free cleavage of oximes to carbonyl compounds using iron (III) and bismuth (III) nitrates as oxidants.     

稀土镧在腈纶纤维化学镀银中的应用及其电化学性能

采用化学镀法(镀液中加入适量的稀土镧)在硅烷偶联剂改性后的腈纶纤维表面沉积金属银,由粒径分析、X射线衍射、扫描电子显微镜、阴极极化曲线以及循环伏安曲线等方法对其进行表征,研究了硝酸镧对化学镀银沉积速度、镀层质量和电化学性能的影响。结果表明,镀银液中加入适宜的硝酸镧,银的沉积速率和腈纶纤维表面银镀层的表面质量均有不同程度的提高。电化学测试表明,镀银液中增大硝酸镧的浓度(0～0.01 g/L),阴极极化曲线极化度增大,氧化还原峰的电流上升,电沉积的速度加快。     

Catalyst free,base free microwave irradiated synthesis of aryl nitrites from potassium aryltrifluoroborates and bismuth nitrate

A mixture of bismuth nitrate pentahydrate and potassium aryltrifluoroborate in toluene under microwave heating at 120 °C for 20 min provides an interesting and mild reaction protocol for the synthesis of aryl nitrite. The conversion to aryl nitrites from aryltrifluoroborates without transition metal catalyst and base in high yields is remarkable.     

Bidentate Lewis Acids Derived from o-Diethynylbenzene with Group 13 and 14 Functions

Starting from 1,2-diethynylbenzene, a series of bidentate Lewis acids was prepared by means of hydrometalations, in particular hydrosilylation, hydroboration, hydroalumination and terminal metalation based on group 13 and 14 elements. In the case of terminal alkyne metalation, the Lewis-acidic gallium function was introduced using triethylgallium under alkane elimination. A total of six different Lewis acids based on a semiflexible organic scaffold were prepared, bearing −SiClMe₂, −SiCl₂Me, −SiCl₃, −B(C₆F₅)₂, −AlBis₂ (Bis=bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl) and −GaEt₂ as the corresponding functional units. In all cases, the Lewis acid functionalisation was carried out twice and the products were obtained in good to excellent yields. In the case of the twofold gallium Lewis acid, a different structural motif in the form of a polymer-like chain was observed in the solid state. All new bidentate Lewis acids were characterised by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, CHN analysis and X-ray diffraction experiments.
