Two different injectors, a split/splitless injector and a programmed temperature vaporizer (PTV) injector were investigated as the interface in on-line supercritical fluid extraction (SFE)-capillary gas chromatography (cGC). The parameters affecting the chromatographic peak shapes as well as the quantitative performance of the interfaces in on-line SFE-cGC were identified and studied. Particular attention was paid to the case where modified extraction fluids were used. Experiments were performed on two different samples. In contrast to usability of Curie-point pyrolysis at 700°C directly attached to gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) for determination of organic wood preservatives in waste wood samples the investigation method reported here consists of thermal desorption at temperatures about 260°C in connection with GC-MS for peak identification or GC with flame ionization detection for quantitative analyses. So-called “modified closeable sampling columns” are used as batch-reactor in thermal desorption experiments. Desorbed vapours can be introduced on capillary columns without sample discrimination and without a disturbing lost of resolution. In this manner a lot of individual polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons were determinated in waste wood samples, especially in railway sleepers. 相似文献

The determination of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) using high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with UV and fluorescence detection has been well established. Although most of the PAHs can be detected by these methods, some environmentally important polyaromatic compounds, such as acenaphthylene, do not show fluorescence and can only be determined by UV detection at higher concentrations. A sensitive and selective determination of acenaphthylene, acenaphthene and the six PAHs listed in the TVO, the German drinking water standard, is also possible by amperometric detection following HPLC separation. The method was applied to the determination of PAHs in different water samples after solid-phase extraction (SPE). The efficiency of the amperometric determination was found to be superior to UV detection (λ = 300 nm). 相似文献

An HPLC post column chemical derivatization procedure based on the interaction between an acridinium triflate and amines to form highly colored derivatives on-line is described for the determination of aromatic amines. Benzocaine and butesin, local anesthetic agents that contain the aromatic amine group, were used as model compounds. Reversed-phase HPLC conditions were developed for both the separation of analytes and the reaction between analytes and the acridinium triflate in the system. Three-dimensional knitted teflon shape coils and the internal diameter and length of the coils were important parameters in reducing band broadening and background noise.N-Methyl-9-chloroacridinium triflate was shown to be applicable to the determination of primary aromatic amines, selected secondary aromatic amines, hydrazides, and hydrazines. Application of the on-line chemical derivatization procedure to the analysis of pharmaceutical dosage forms containing procainamide (primary aromatic amine), isoniazid (hydrazide), and hydralazine (hydrazine) is also described. 相似文献

In the present article, some new events on the surface morphology of the aromatic polyamide thin‐film‐composite (TFC) membranes were demonstrated in conjunction with their inherent chemical nature. In addition, the detailed, quantitative understanding of the microscopic surface features was shown to be essential in controlling the water permeability and eventually developing the high performance membranes. The surface roughness and the surface area were mainly affected by the existence or nonexistence of the crosslinking and/or the free amide groups not pertinent to the formation of the hydrogen bonding, which in turn contributed to the water permeability. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Two series of new wholly aromatic thermotropic copolyesters containing the 2‐(α‐phenylisopropyl)hydroquinone (PIHQ) moiety have been synthesized and their basic properties such as glass transition temperature (Tg), melting temperature (Tm), thermal stability, crystallinity, and liquid crystallinity were studied by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), thermogravimetry (TG), and wide‐angle X‐ray diffractometry (WAXD) and on a polarizing microscope. The first series was prepared from acetylated PIHQ, terephthalic acid (TPA), and 2,6‐naphthalenedicarboxylic acid (NDA), and the second series from acetylated PIHQ, TPA, and 1,1′‐biphenyl‐4,4′‐dicarboxylic acid (BDA). The Tg values (152–168°C) of the two series are not much different, although the values for the first series appear slightly higher. The Tm values (287–378°C) and the degree of crystallinity of the first series are appreciably greater than those of the second series. Such differences can be explained by the geometric structure of NDA and BDA moieties. All of the present polyesters are thermotropic and nematic. © 1999 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
