Tunable electron-accepting properties of the cationic phosphorus center, its geometry and unique preparative chemistry that allows combining this unit with diversity of π-conjugated motifs, define the appealing photophysical and electrochemical characteristics of organophosphorus ionic chromophores. This Minireview summarizes the achievements in the synthesis of the π-extended molecules functionalized with P-cationic fragments, modulation of their properties by means of structural modification, and emphasizes the important effect of cation-anion interactions, which can drastically change physical behavior of these two-component systems.  相似文献

An anion‐coordination‐based A4L6 (“A” denotes anion and “L” is ligand) tetrahedral cage was constructed by a C2‐symmetric bis‐bis(urea) ligand and phosphate anion, which showed reversible interconversion with the A2L3 triple helicate as a response to the template, concentration, or solvent. Notably, an unusual “peripheral” templation was found to be critical to stabilize the tetrahedral structure. This peripheral effect was utilized to assemble an “empty” A4L6 cage that allows the multi‐stimuli‐controlled capture/release of biologically important species such as choline and acetylcholine.  相似文献

Oxymethylene dimethyl ethers (OMEn; CH3(‐OCH2‐)nO‐CH3, n=3–5) are a novel class of sustainable synthetic fuels, which are of increasing interest due to their soot‐free combustion. Herein a novel anhydrous OMEn synthesis route is presented. Catalyzed by trimethyloxonium salts, dimethoxymethane takes up monomeric gaseous formaldehyde instantaneously and forms high purity OMEn at temperatures of 25–30 °C. This new anhydrous approach using molecular formaldehyde and catalytic amounts of highly active trimethyloxonium salts represents a promising new step towards a sustainable formation of OMEn emanating from CO2 and H2.  相似文献

Density functional theory has been used to calculate the thermodynamic properties and molecular orbitals of pillar[n]quinones. Pillar[n]quinones are expected to be effective electron acceptors and the ability to accept more than one electron increases with the size of the interior cavity. Pillar[5]quinone and pillar[7]quinone show a great intramolecular charge transfer upon the electron excitation from highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) to lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO) as indicated by a large difference of electron distributions between their HOMO and LUMO and a notable dipole moment difference between the ground and first triplet excited state. The aggregation of pillar[n]quinones leads to tubular dimeric structures joined by 2n C? H···O nonclassical hydrogen bonds (HBs) with binding energies about 2 kcal/mol per HB. The longitudinal extension of the supramolecular self‐assembly of pillar[n]quinone may be adjustable through forming and breaking their HBs by controlling the surrounding environment. The tunability of the diameter of the tubular structures can be achieved by changing the number of quinone units in the pillar[n]quinone. The electrostatic potential maps of pillar[n]quinones indicate that the positive charge in the interior cavity decreases as the number of quinone units increases. Chloride and bromide anions are chosen to examine the noncovalent anion‐π interactions between pillar[n]quinones and captured anions. The calculations show that the better compatibility of the effective radius of the anions with the interior dimension of pillar[n]quinone leads to larger stabilization energy. The selectivity of spatial matching and specific interaction of pillar[n]quinone is believed to possibly serve as a candidate for ionic and molecular recognition. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The interaction of 3,6-di-tert-butyl-ortho-benzoquinone (1) and 3,5-di-tert-butyl-ortho-benzoquinone (2) with NH3 in water—alcohol medium and with (NH4)2CO3 in a solid phase has been studied. Redox processes with participation of a nucleophile of the medium take place for1, while2 reacts with NH3 at the carbonyl group with transformation of the quinone imide.
