The investigation of the dissolved iron(III)–nitrilotriacetate–hydroxide system in the water solution (I=0.1 mol L?1 in NaClO4; pH 8.0±0.1) using differential pulse cathodic voltammetry, cyclic voltammetry, and sampled direct current (DC) polarography, was carried out on a static mercury drop electrode (SMDE). The dissolved iron(III) ion concentrations varied from 2.68×10?6 to 6×10?4 mol L?1 and nitrilotriacetate concentrations were 1×10?4 and 5×10?4 mol L?1. By deconvoluting of the overlapped reduction voltammetric peaks using Fourier transformation, four relatively stable, dissolved iron(III) complex species were characterized, as follows: [Fe(NTA)2]3?, mixed ligand complexes [FeOHNTA]? and [Fe(OH)2NTA]2?, showing a one‐electron quasireversible reduction, and binuclear diiron(III) complex [NTAFeOFeNTA]2?, detected above 4×10?4 mol L?1 of the added iron(III) ions, showing a one‐electron irreversible reduction character. The calculations with the constants from the literature were done and compared with the potential shifts of the voltammetric peaks. Fitting was obtained by changing the following literature constants: log β2([Fe(NTA)2]3?) from 24 to 27.2, log β1([FeNTA]?) from 8.9 to 9.2, log β2([Fe(NTA)2]4?) from 11.89 to 15.7 and log β2([Fe(OH)2NTA]3?) from 15.63 to 19. The determination of the electrochemical parameters of the mixed ligand complex [FeOHNTA]?, such as: transfer coefficient (α), rate constant (ks) and formal potential (E°') was done using a sampled DC polarography, and found to be 0.46±0.05, 1.0±0.3×10?3 cm s?1, and ?0.154±0.010 V, respectively. Although known previously in the literature, these four species have now for the first time been recorded simultaneously, i.e. proved to exist simultaneously under the given conditions. 相似文献
A novel gas diffusion-flow injection method has been developed for the rapid and sensitive determination of total inorganic carbon (TIC) in water. The method is based on the diffusion of CO2 across gas permeable membrane from a donor stream containing 0.1 M HCl to an acceptor stream of sodium acetate (10−5 mol l−1 and pH 10). The CO2 trapped in the acceptor stream passes through an electrochemical flow cell contains a tungsten oxide wire and a silver/silver chloride electrode, where it was sensitively detected. The parameters affecting the sensitivity of the electrode such as buffer concentration, pH, flow rate and injected volume were studied in detail. The electrode response was linear in the concentration range from 5 to 100 μg ml−1 CO32− with a correlation coefficient (R2) of 0.998. Precision (R.S.D.) was 1.42% for 20 μg ml−1 standard solution of CO32− (n=10). The detection limit was 0.20 μg ml−1 CO32−. The method was evaluated by the injection of real natural water samples and an average recovery of 100.1% was obtained. The sampling rate was 30 samples h−1. The method is simple, feasible with satisfactory accuracy and precision and thus could be used for monitoring TIC in water. 相似文献
We introduced an approach to the ion chromatographic determination of common mono- and divalent cations including hydrogen ion and demonstrated the ability of a C30 column dynamically coated first with dodecylsulfate and then with 18-crown-6 ether to separate the cations by ion-exchange mechanism. Using an ethylenediamine solution containing a small concentration of 18-crown-6 ether and lithium dodecylsulfate at pH 6.2 as eluent, the cations were eluted in the order Li < Na+ < NH4+ < H+ < K+ < Mg2+ < Ca2+ with symmetrical peaks. The conductivity vs. concentration plots were linear about three orders of magnitude, from millimolar to micromolar; and the detection limits were all < 0.6 microM. Rainwater was analyzed directly using this ion chromatographic system with satisfactory results. 相似文献
We describe in this paper simple and robust analytical protocols to determine the 16 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) of the US Environmental Protection Agency priority list in water, sediment and mussels. For water samples, eight different solid-phase extraction (SPE) sorbents have been compared and among them, C18 provided highest recoveries and limits of detection of 0.3-15 ng/L. For lyophilized sediments, Soxhlet and ultrasonic extraction were compared, and the last one permitted to recover all analytes with highest repetitivity and was validated by analysing a certified reference material. Finally, the analysis of mussels was undertaken using Soxhlet, ultrasonic and pressurized liquid extraction (PLE) and the performance of several clean-up steps are compared. Whereas for the former two, incomplete recovery or losses of some analytes were evidenced, PLE permitted a more efficient extraction and although alkaline digestion was necessary to remove coextracted compounds, the method gave acceptable recoveries and limits of detection of 0.5-7.7 microg/kg dry mass, as for sediments. In all cases, analysis was performed by gas chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry and internal standard quantification was performed using five deuterated PAHs. Each method performance is discussed for the three matrices analysed and the paper reports advantages and disadvantages of each for their routine application in monitoring programs. 相似文献
Crystal growth of calcium oxalate (CaC2O4) in bulk aqueous solution, reverse microemulsion of p-octyl polyethylene glycol phenylether (OP)/iso-octyl alcohol (IOA)/cydohexane/water and above microemulsions containing different kinds of amino acids, such as aspartic acid (Asp), tyrosine (Tyr) and tryptophan (Trp) were studied. The results indicated that different crystallization types of the crystals, which were calcium oxalate monohydrate (COM), calcium oxalate dihydrate (COD) and calcium oxalate trihydrate (COT), existed in bulk aqueous solution. But CaC2O4 growth mainly paralleled with (1 01) plane of COM in reverse microemulsion because of the induction of surfactant at water/oil interface. After adding amino acids into microemulsions, the growth of CaC2O4 crystals mainly influenced by the varieties of amino acids and the pH values of the amino acid aqueous solution. When pH values of the solutions was higher than isoelectric points of amino acids, CaC2O4 crystal paralleled with (1 01) plane of COM more easily with the addition of Trp, Tyr, Asp in turn; however, when pH of the solutions was lower than isoelectric points of Trp, CaC2O4 crystal growth paralleled with (020) face of COM. It is obviously that amino acids, pH values of the solutions and surfactant played important roles in the process of crystal growth of CaC2O4 in the microemulsions. The formation mechanism of CaC2O4 was also discussed in different microemulsions at last. 相似文献
This paper presents an optosensor for screening of four polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons: anthracene (ANT), benzo[a]pyrene (BaP), fluoranthene (FLT), and benzo[b]fluoranthene (Bbf) using a photomultiplier device with an artificial neural network as transducer. The optosensor is based on the on-line immobilization on a non-ionic resin (Amberlite XAD-4) solid support in a continuous flow. The determination was performed in 15 mM H2PO4−/HPO42− buffer solution at pH 7 and 25% of 1,4-dioxane. Feed forward neural networks (multiplayer perceptron) have been trained to quantify the considered Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) in mixtures under optimal conditions. The optosensor proposed was also applied satisfactorily to the determination of the considered PAHs in water samples in presence of the other 12 EPA–PAHs. 相似文献
The goal of this study was to assess the effects of surfactant addition on the stability and viscosity of concentrated alumina dispersions. The stabilizing effects of several candidate surfactants were investigated for concentrated dispersions of two different pseudoboehmite aluminas at pH 4 and 7. The stabilities of concentrated alumina dispersions treated by pH adjustment alone and by pH adjustment combined with surfactant addition were compared to assess the degree to which the surfactant enhanced stability. The initial rate of mass removal from a sedimenting alumina dispersion was used as a measure of stability.
The anionic surfactants Surfine WNT-A and DOWFAX 3B2 were identified as effective in enhancing the stability of concentrated alumina dispersions. The optimal doses of these surfactants for stabilizing 15% by weight VERSAL™ 250 alumina dispersions at pH 4 were determined to be about 4.6 × 10−5 mol g−1 for both surfactants. On the basis of the initial rate of mass removal, surfactant-stabilized 15 wt.% suspensions were found to be approximately 2.5 and 10.6 times more stable than similar dispersions stabilized electrostatically by pH adjustment alone. These more stable dispersions exhibited lower viscosities than observed for the alumina dispersions not subjected to surfactant addition. The results indicate that the stability of concentrated alumina dispersions can be enhanced by anionic surfactant addition, and that such surfactants may therefore help to control the rheology of concentrated dispersions of alumina in water. 相似文献
The acid-catalyzed addition of 1,3-dicarbonyl compounds and activated olefins (silyl enol ethers and ethyl vinyl ether) to N-Boc-2-methoxypyrrolidine (1a) and N-Boc-2-methoxypiperidine (1b) in SDS/water medium is described. Good yields of the corresponding 2-substituted N-Boc pyrrolidines were generally observed from 1a while moderate yields prevailed from 1b. 相似文献
