Magnetic nanofluids, ferrofluids, are a special category of smart nanomaterials, consisting of stable dispersion of magnetic nanoparticles in different fluids. In this study, magnetic nanoparticles of hematite, α-Fe2O3, were prepared by solvothermal method using Fe(NO3)3 as a starting material. The nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and transmission electronic microscope (TEM).To the best of our knowledge, this is the first research on the rheological properties of nanofluids of α-Fe2O3 nanoparticles and glycerol. The experimental results showed that the viscosity of α-Fe2O3-glycerol nanofluids increases with increasing the particle volume fraction and decreases with increasing temperature. Our results clearly showed that the α-Fe2O3-glycerol nanofluids are non-Newtonian shear-thinning and their shear viscosity depends strongly on temperature. The experimental data were compared with some theoretical models. The measured values of the effective viscosity of nanofluids are underestimated by the theoretical models. 相似文献

Densities and viscosities of glycine and l-valine have been measured at 308.15 and 318.15 K in aqueous tripotassium citrate solutions ranging from 0.2 to 0.8 mol kg− 1 of tripotassium citrate. The viscosity data have been analyzed by Jones-Dole equation. The activation parameters of viscous flow have been obtained to throw light on the mechanism of viscous flow. The values of apparent molar volume, partial molar volume at infinite dilution and relative viscosities of each amino acid in various aqueous tripotassium citrate solutions have been evaluated from the density and viscosity data. The partial molar volumes of transfer from water to aqueous tripotassium citrate solution at infinite dilution have also been calculated. Transfer volume data have been used to calculate the pair and triplet interactions. The results have been discussed in terms of solute-solute and solute-solvent interactions and the structural changes of the solutes in solutions. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with developing accurate and efficient numerical methods for one-dimensional fully nonlinear second order elliptic and parabolic partial differential equations (PDEs). In the paper we present a general framework for constructing high order interior penalty discontinuous Galerkin (IP-DG) methods for approximating viscosity solutions of these fully nonlinear PDEs. In order to capture discontinuities of the second order derivative uxx of the solution u, three independent functions p1,p2 and p3 are introduced to represent numerical derivatives using various one-sided limits. The proposed DG frame- work, which is based on a nonstandard mixed formulation of the underlying PDE, embeds a nonlinear problem into a mostly linear system of equations where the nonlinearity has been modified to include multiple values of the second order derivative uxz. The proposed framework extends a companion finite difference framework developed by the authors in [9] and allows for the approximation of fully nonlinear PDEs using high order polynomials and non-uniform meshes. In addition to the nonstandard mixed formulation setting, another main idea is to replace the fully nonlinear differential operator by a numerical operator which is consistent with the differential operator and satisfies certain monotonicity (called g-monotonicity) properties. To ensure such a g-monotonicity, the crux of the construction is to introduce the numerical moment, which plays a critical role in the proposed DG frame- work. The g-monotonicity gives the DG methods the ability to select the mathematically "correct" solution (i.e., the viscosity solution) among all possible solutions. Moreover, the g-monotonicity allows for the possible development of more efficient nonlinear solvers as the special nonlinearity of the algebraic systems can be explored to decouple the equations. This paper also presents and analyzes numerical results for several numerical test problems which are used to guage the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed DG methods. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with an algorithmic solution to the split common fixed point problem in Hilbert spaces. Our method can be regarded as a variant of the “viscosity approximation method”. Under very classical assumptions, we establish a strong convergence theorem with regard to involved operators belonging to the wide class of quasi-nonexpansive operators. In contrast with other related processes, our algorithm does not require any estimate of some spectral radius. The technique of analysis developed in this work is new and can be applied to many other fixed point iterations. Numerical experiments are also performed with regard to an inverse heat problem. 相似文献

We apply the Stochastic Perron Method, created by Bayraktar and Sîrbu, to a stochastic exit time control problem. Our main assumption is the validity of the Strong Comparison Result for the related Hamilton–Jacobi–Bellman (HJB) equation. Surface tension (γ) and viscosity (η) data of aqueous solutions of the deoxyadenosine (DOA) and the deoxyribose (DOR) sugars have been measured with the survismeter, a new instrument, along with tetrahydrofuran (THF), dimethylformamide (DMF), acetonitrile and dimethylsulphoxide (DMSO) solvents. The same properties have also been measured with a stalagmometer and a viscosimeter, respectively, which afford the same information, albeit at the expense of a larger amount of chemicals and solvents. We obtain comparatively better accuracy in both kinds of measurements than with conventional methods. Therefore, the survismeter lends itself as a simple and reliable instrument. 相似文献

Recently, the CDF Collaboration reports an anomaly in dijet mass distribution in association with a lepton and missing energy. We discuss a possibility that the origin of the lepton and missing energy comes not from a W boson but a new boson particle, which is also responsible for the dijet mass peak. We show that such a situation can be realized in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric standard model and the dijet anomaly can be explained. 相似文献
