A homo‐dinuclear NiII complex was prepared from 2, 6‐bis(3, 5‐dimethylpyrazolyl)pyridine (Me4‐bpp) and azide ions in nonaqueous media. It was characterized by single crystal X‐ray structural analysis, IR spectroscopy, and elemental analysis. In addition, the electrochemical properties of the compound were determined with cyclic voltammetry in DMF. The title compound crystallizes in the P21/n monoclinic space group, with unit cell parameters a = 8.978(1), b = 12.459(1), c = 17.764(1) Å, ß =100.603(3)°, V = 1953.0(3) Å3, Z = 2. The Ni2+ ion has a distorted octahedral environment involving three nitrogen atoms of the Me4‐bpp ligand, two nitrogen atoms from the bridged azide group, and one nitrogen atom from the terminal azide group. A series of polyisophthalamides containing pendent phthalimido groups and flexible side spacers were prepared from four novel diacids and three commercial aromatic diamines. These polyamides were prepared in high yields and with high molecular weights by direct polycondensation with triphenyl phosphite and pyridine as condensing agents. The weight‐average and number‐average molecular weights, measured by gel permeation chromatography, were 70,000–137,000 and 47,000–86,000 g/mol, respectively. The novel polyamides were amorphous and readily soluble and showed glass‐transition temperatures of 150–240 °C, as measured by differential scanning calorimetry. Thermogravimetric analysis showed that the 10% weight‐loss temperatures in nitrogen were 355–430 °C, a significant improvement in thermal stability having been observed with the increase in the side‐chain length. A theoretical quantum mechanical study was successfully carried out to explain these results. Single crystal X-ray structures of clathrates of -[Ni(NCS)2(4-methylpyridine)4] with furan, tetrahydrofuran, benzene + ethanol, methylene chloride, and methylcellosolve as guests molecules are reported. The location of the guest molecule in the partially decomposed clathrate with methylene chloride was defined by X-ray diffraction and compared with the fully occupied one. The host lattices of all clathrates studied are tetragonal (I41/a) and do not differ significantly from typical -phase clathrates of [M(NCS)2(4-methylpyridine)4] (M = divalent metal cation). Arrangements of guest molecules represent different types of packing: one type of guest molecule occupies both possible types of positions, two different guest molecules occupy different positions, with only one type of positions occupied by one type of guest molecule. Complexes of FeI2 and FeI3 with Tetramethylurea [FeI2(OC(NMe2)2)2] ( 1 , [Fe2I4(OC(NMe2)2)2] ( 2 ), and [FeI3(OC(NMe2)2] ( 3 ) were prepared by the reaction of FeI2 and FeI2/iodine, respectively, with tetramethylurea. The structures of 1 and 3 were determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction data. 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P1 , with a = 809.9(1), b = 923.2(1), c = 1 374.6(1) pm, α = 106.80(1), β = 90.47(1), γ = 101.55(1)°; Z = 2; R = 0.045., 3 : monoclinic, P21/c, a = 1 311.4(1), b = 783.3(1), c = 1 409.1(1) pm, β = 97.36(1)°; Z = 4; R = 0.047. 1 and 3 are isolated neutral complexes with distorted tetrahedral coordination of iron. 3 is the first FeI3-complex with an O-donor ligand. The IR-spectra exhibit strong shifts of n?C = O and n?asC—N of tetramethylurea especially on coordinating to FeI3. 相似文献
