Micro-hotplates operated at elevated temperature form the basic element in several sensor devices, such as integrated calorimetric or Taguchi-type gas sensors and flow-rate sensors. In all of these applications thermal properties of the sensing elements play a determining role in functional operation, therefore, their accurate characterisation is essential. The micro-hotplates investigated were developed by one side porous silicon micro-machining technology, forming Pt micro-filaments embedded in non-stoichiometric silicon nitride, and suspended across a cavity. This work is dealing with the accurate temperature detection in the micro-scale by different measurement methods for the deduction of steady state and transient thermal properties from the results. The purpose of this work was to investigate the effect of several factors (anion type in the copper salt, pH and concentration of the salt solution) on the structure and thermo-oxidative degradation of the polyacrylamidoxime-copper chelates, by using elemental analysis, IR spectroscopy and dynamic thermogravimetry. The chelates containing copper ions as sulphate exhibit a better initial thermal stability than the polyacrylamidoxime fibre presumably due to the crosslinking generated by the intermolecular complexation of the ions; the removal of the sulphate anions takes place concomitantly with the second step of polymeric chain decomposition. The initial thermal decomposition of the chelates formed by copper ions as nitrate begins at lower temperatures as compared to the polyacrylamidoxime fibre, probably by the nitrate anion release, which partly overlaps the initial decomposition of the copper ion-crosslinked polymeric chains. Copper ions as either sulphate or nitrate catalyse the reactions involved in the main step of polyacrylamidoxime fibre decomposition; the higher the copper amount, the stronger the catalytic effect. 相似文献

The performance of high power transistor devices is intimately connected to the substrate thermal conductivity. In this study, the relationship between thermal conductivity and dislocation density is examined using the 3 omega technique and free standing HVPE GaN substrates. Dislocation density is measured using imaging cathodoluminescence. In a low dislocation density regime below 105 cm−2, the thermal conductivity appears to plateau out near 230 W/K m and can be altered by the presence of isotopic defects and point defects. For high dislocation densities the thermal conductivity is severely degraded due to phonon scattering from dislocations. These results are applied to the design of homoepitaxially and heteroepitaxially grown HEMT devices and the efficiency of heat extraction and the influence of lateral heat spreading on device performance are compared. 相似文献

The dynamics of the electric arc inside a direct current non-transferred arc plasma torch are simulated using a three-dimensional, transient, equilibrium model. The fluid and electromagnetic equations are solved numerically in a fully coupled approach by a multiscale finite element method. Simulations of a torch operating with argon and argon–hydrogen under different operating conditions are presented. The model is able to predict the operation of the torch in steady and takeover modes without any further assumption on the reattachment process except for the use of an artificially high electrical conductivity near the electrodes, needed because of the equilibrium assumption. The results obtained indicate that the reattachment process in these operating modes may be driven by the movement of the arc rather than by a breakdown-like process. It is also found that, for a torch operating in these modes and using straight gas injection, the arc will tend to re-attach to the opposite side of its original attachment. This phenomenon seems to be produced by a net angular momentum on the arc due to the imbalance between magnetic and fluid drag forces. 相似文献

The synthesis, characterization, and thermal decomposition behavior of dicopper(I) oxalato complexes L4Cu2(C2O4) (L = CNtBu (2a), CNCMe2CH2tBu (2b), CNC6H3Me2-2,6 (2c)) is reported. 2c can be prepared in a straightforward manner by the reaction of stoichiometric amounts of Cu2O and oxalic acid with four equivalents of CNC6H3Me2-2,6, while those complexes with aliphatic isocyanides are better prepared from a copper(I) oxalato complex with alkine capping ligands (Me3SiCCSiMe3)2Cu2(C2O4) (1) via ligand exchange. Crystallographic and spectroscopic evidence for 2a-c confirms the anticipated dinuclear structure with the oxalate in a μ-1,2,3,4 bridging mode and an essentially σ-character of the terminal isocyanides. In solid form the complexes are stable at room temperature and can be handled in air for some time. Their decomposition was studied by thermal gravimetric analysis coupled with mass spectrometry, and the degradation pathway was shown to depend on the type of isocyanide capping ligand. Decomposition of 2a,b takes place between 150 and 200 °C to give CuCN in a clean process that involves isobutene elimination from the terminal ligands, with elimination of (CN)2 and conversion to elemental copper at higher temperatures. Heating of 2c leads to CuO (and then to Cu2O) via release of the intact isocyanide, CO2, and CO in a well-behaved thermal process around 200-280 °C. 相似文献

We report in this paper a study of the mechanical alloying (MA) process for the Pb0.65Sn0.35Te alloy. MA has been carried out in a high-energy planetary ball mill. The mechanism of formation has been studied from systematic analyses of mechanically alloyed powders using X-ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry and scanning electron microscopy. As it was already observed for the MA of PbTe, this synthesis is associated with an exothermic reaction between the elemental powders. The basic principle of comparing the sample
mass with the mass of a reference body in equilibrium gives the equal-armed
beam balance a unique accuracy. Main parameters characterising the suitability
of the instrument are measuring range, resolution and relative sensitivity
(resolution/maximum load). The historical development of the values of these
parameters achieved depended strongly on the practical need in those times.
Technically unfavourable scales of the oldest Egyptian dynasties (~3000
BC) could resolve mass differences of 1 g and had a relative sensitivity of
at least 10–3. More sophisticated instruments
from the 18th Dynasty (~1567–1320 BC) achieved
a relative sensitivity of 10–4 independent
of the size of the instrument. In 350 BC Aristotle clarified the theory of
the lever and at about 250 BC Archimedes used the balance for density determinations
of solids. The masterpiece of a hydrological balance was Al Chazini’s
'Balance of Wisdom’ built about 1120. Its relative sensitivity
was 2⋅10–5.
Real progress took
place when scientists like Lavoisier (1743–1794) founded modern chemistry.
At the end of the 19th century metrological balances
reached a relative sensitivity of 10–9 with
a maximum load of several kilogrammes. That seems to be the high end of sensitivity
of the classical mechanical beam balance with knife edges. Improvements took
place by electrodynamic compensation (Emich, Gast).
In 1909 Ehrenhaft
and Millikan could weigh particles of 10–15
g by means of electrostatic suspension. In 1957 Sauerbrey invented the oscillating
quartz crystal balance. By observing the frequency shift of oscillating carbon
nanotubes or of silica nanorods, masses or mass changes in the attogram or
