The Surface Imprinted Polystyrene Beads Prepared via Emulsion Templates

In this paper, the surface imprinted cross-linked polystyrene beads were prepared via suspension polymerization with styrene (St), divinylbezene (DVB), polyvinyl alcohol (PVA1788),the mixture of Span 85 and xylene or the mixture of Span 85 and paraffin as monomer,cross-linking agent, dispersion stabilizer and templates, respectively. The results indicate that there are dense cavities on the surface of beads, and the diameter and density of cavity are related with the composition and amount of emulsion template. The forming mechanism of cavity from thermodynamics and dynamics was proposed.     

低分子量溴代聚苯乙烯的制备及应用

用溶液法合成了一系列低分子量的聚苯乙烯，其溴化产物（Ｂｒ－ＰＳ）的溴含量和热稳定性与美国同类产品Ｐｙｒｏ－Ｃｈｅｋ ＬＭ相当，分别用作聚苯乙烯树脂的阻燃剂，极限氧指数测定结果表明，其阻燃性也达到了Ｐｙｒｏ－Ｃｈｅｋ ＬＭ的水平。     

Catalytic degradation of polystyrene using HUSY catalysts

Summary The addition of carbon dioxide to phenyl glycidyl ether (PGE) was investigated in a semi-batch reactor using immobilized quaternary ammonium chloride catalysts. Five different catalysts were prepared with the following supports : (1) soluble poly(ST-<Emphasis Type=Italic>co</Emphasis>-VBC) [C1], (2) insoluble poly(ST-DVB-VBC) [C2], (3) macroporous poly(ST-DVB-VBC) [C3], (4) poly(ST-<Emphasis Type=Italic>co</Emphasis>-VBC)-MMT [C4] (5) modified MCM-41 [C5]. The addition of carbon dioxide to PGE can be considered as a pseudo-first order process with respect to the concentration of PGE. The pseudo-first order rate constant for the catalysts decreased in the series C1&gt;C3&gt;C2&gt;C4&gt;C5. The activation energy for C1 to C5 catalysts was 8.6, 20.9, 19.9, 23.9, and 26.8 kJ/mol, respectively. The immobilized catalysts can be reused in least 4 successive runs without any considerable loss of their initial reactivities.     

The discovery of two kinds of ion pairs

The discovery and implications of the existence of two kinds of ion pairs in solutions of carbanion salts is described. Also discussed are the factors controlling tight–loose ion pair equilibrium: the nature of the carbanion and its counterion, temperature, pressure, solvent, and cation‐complexing additives. A few examples are presented of the effect of these ionic species on the mechanisms of anionic polymerization and proton transfer. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 本文报道了三种聚苯乙烯支载苯并-15-冠-5与两种聚苯乙烯支载无环冠醚的合成,并研究了它们对K~+与Na~+的络合性能与相转移催化性能。     

Polystyrene prepared by reactive extrusion: kinetics and effect of processing parameters

The conversion and residence time were investigated during the bulk polymerization of styrene in a twin screw extruder. It was found that polymerization mainly occurred in the zone between 400 and 1000 mm along the screw axis in the extruder, corresponding to the residence time of the reactants ranging from 1 to 4 min in the extruder. Furthermore, the processing conditions (feed rate, screw rotation rate) and average molecular weight of the polymer have a great effect on the residence time. Based on dimensionless analysis, a model of the residence time has been built‐up, which has been confirmed by the results of realistic measurements. A kinetic model of the polymerization has also been established under the assumption that the screw extruder can be regarded as an ideal plug flow reactor. Determination of Size Distribution of Nano-particles by Capillary Zone Electrophoresis

A new method was developed for the determination of the size distribution of nano-particles by capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE). Scattering effect of nanoparticles was studied. This method for the determination of size distribution was statistical.     

HIPS／PP熔融反应共混及其动态力学性质

研究了高抗冲聚苯乙烯（HIPS）／聚丙烯（PP）共混物在过氧化二异丙苯（DCP）存在下的熔融反应过程及其动态力学性质．HIPS在DCP存在下以聚苯乙烯（PS）的降解为主，伴随着聚丁二烯（PB）的交联和接枝，PP在DCP存在下以降解为主，HIPS／PP在DCP存在下以PP同HIPS的反应接枝为主，这种原位生成的增容剂显著地改善了HIPS／PP两组份间的相容性，其分子运动特征较前两者发生明显变化，PS的Tg下降，PB和PP的Tg升高．     

支化高分子在溶液中的交叠与缠结

溶液中高分子的交叠和缠结与其链结构密切相关。支化聚苯乙烯的临界交叠浓度C和临界缠结浓度C_E比分子量相同的线型聚苯乙烯的大,说明交叠和缠结同分子在溶液中线团的体积有直接关系。
