A low power density single-pulse laser irradiation of the Si surface has been used for the study of formation and self-organization of silicon nanotips. A two dimensional regular array of hillock-like nanotips has been created in the central region, a disturbed array comprising crossed lines of hillocks in the near-central region, and the “V”-shaped array in the peripheral region. Therefore, the long-range organization of hillocks changes from the center toward the periphery, following the Gaussian-like laser power profile. The evolution of hillocks due to the flow instability of molten silicon is equivalent to the instability of a liquid layer falling down a vertical plate. The novel result is that the hillock-like soliton structures can be identified with the lump solitons resulting from the nonlinear hydrodynamic instability evolution.  相似文献

We investigate numerically surface-wave solitons occurring at the interface between semi-infinite linear and thermal nonlinear optical media, with the refractive index of the linear medium being greater than that of the nonlinear medium (in the absence of light). We find that the threshold energy flows of the existence of the surface solitons depend on the linear refractive index difference of the two media. Their fitting empirical formula has been obtained. Furthermore, we elucidate that the optical beams propagating in thermal nonlinear optical media, either as a single surface soliton or as a dipole surface soliton, can be attracted to the surface, even when launched from far away.  相似文献

Ultrasonic cavitation erosion experiments were performed on Ti–6Al–4V alloys samples in annealed, nitrided and nitrided and subsequently heat treated state. The protective oxide layer formed as a result of annealing and heat treatment after nitriding is eliminated after less than 30 min cavitation time, while the nitride layer lasts up to 90 min cavitation time. Once the protective layer is removed, the cavitation process develops by grain boundary erosion, leading to the expulsion of grains from the surface. The gas nitrided Ti–6Al–4V alloy, forming a TixN surface layer, proved to be a better solution to improve the cavitation erosion resistance, compared to the annealed and nitrided and heat treated state, respectively. The analysis of the mean depth of erosion rate at 165 min cavitation time showed an improvement of the cavitation erosion resistance of the nitrided samples of up to 77% higher compared to the one of the annealed samples.  相似文献

Three-dimensional (3D) architecture of TiO2 hollow sphere has many excellent and interesting performances that attract significant attention nowadays. In this paper, a simple surface erosion approach to the fabrication of TiO2 hollow spheres via the hydrothermal process has been developed. The morphologies and the phase were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and X-ray diffractometer (XRD). The results indicate that the anatase-type TiO2 hollow spheres with a diameter of ∼1 μm are successfully synthesized. The shell thickness of TiO2 hollow spheres is ∼150 nm and the size of hollow cavity is ∼600 nm. By the control experiments, the influence of ammonium fluoride and hydrogen peroxide on the hollow spherical structures was studied. Hydrogen peroxide acts as both the oxidant and the bubble generator, ammonium fluoride is crucial for the erosion and dissolution of titanium, the detailed dissolution-crystallization mechanism for the formation of TiO2 hollow spheres was also proposed.  相似文献

In order to enhance the compatibility with plastic polymers, magnesium hydroxide sulfate hydrate (MHSH) nanowhiskers were modified through grafting methyl methacrylate (MMA) on the surface of the nanowhiskers by emulsion polymerization. The influences of the reaction time, MMA monomer content, adding speed of monomer and the reaction temperature on the grafting ratio were investigated. Thermogravimetry (TG), Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy-dispersive X-ray (EDX) spectroscopy and surface contact angle measurement were used to characterize the effect of surface modification. The results showed that the MHSH nanowhiskers were uniformly coated by polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), and a well-defined core-shell hybrid structure of MHSH/PMMA was obtained. The surface contact angle of the hybrid whiskers increased to 87.32° from 12.71° and the whiskers surface was changed from hydrophilic to lipophilic.  相似文献

Aluminide coatings were produced on carbon steel and Fe-5Cr-Mo alloy at a relatively lower temperature below 600 °C in shorter treatment time by a combination of surface refinement process and pack aluminizing process. Repetitive ball impact, generated by mechanical vibration, caused the top-layer refinement of substrates in a conventional pack aluminizing process. The effects of temperature and treatment time on the formation of aluminide coatings were analyzed. The microstructure of the coatings was investigated by SEM, AFM and XRD. The aluminide coatings were one-layer, compacted structure with ultrafine grains and uniform elemental distribution. High-temperature oxidation and sulphidation tests were carried out at 600 °C in air for 200 h and 10% SO2 + Ar gas mixture atmosphere for 50 h, respectively. The mass gains and spallation indicated that the aluminide coatings significantly improved the high-temperature oxidation and sulphidation resistance.  相似文献

The effect of different vacancies on the morphology of the O-terminated Cu2O(111) surface has been studied through the first-principles calculations. Our results show that Cu and O vacancies trigger large relaxations and formation of two different facets. Our emulated STM images are in consistent with the experimental STM patterns. A sizeable magnetic moment (∼1.0 μB) was found for surfaces with either Cu or O vacancies. The calculated formation energies of surface vacancies indicate that the deficient surfaces are more stable than the stoichiometric O-terminated (1×1) surface, which is also in line with our results obtained from ab initio atomistic thermodynamics studies.  相似文献

The adsorption of Pb onto a NiAl(1 1 0) single crystal surface at 300 K has been studied by Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), Low energy electron diffraction (LEED), molecular beam/surface scattering and single crystal adsorption calorimetry (SCAC). AES indicates a Stranski-Krastanov growth mode, i.e., Pb initially grows on NiAl(1 1 0) two-dimensionally until the first layer completes at 0.89 ML, where a superstructure is observed by LEED, followed by 3D islanding. Measurements of the Pb gas that does not stick indicate that Pb sticks on NiAl(1 1 0) with an initial probability of 0.99. The initial heat of adsorption of Pb on NiAl(1 1 0) is 249 ± 10 kJ/mol. Due to the repulsive interactions between Pb adatoms, the heat of adsorption decreases within the first layer to a value identical to the heat of sublimation of bulk Pb (195 kJ/mol), where it remains at higher coverages. This first application of adsorption calorimetry on such a thick sample (75 μm versus 0.2-8 μm previously) demonstrates that adsorption calorimetry can be extended to a wider range of surfaces, since this thickness can be achieved with nearly any single crystal material by simple mechanical thinning.  相似文献

Infrared reflection absorption spectroscopy that used buried metal layer substrates (BML-IRRAS) and density functional cluster calculations were employed to investigate the water related oxidation reactions of 2H + H2O/Si(1 0 0)-(2 × 1), 2D + H2O/Si(1 0 0)-(2 × 1), and H2O + H/Si(1 0 0)-(2 × 1). In addition to the oxygen inserted coupled monohydrides, which were previously reported in the former reaction system, we report several other oxidized Si hydride species in our BML-IRRAS experiments. Three new pairs of vibrational bands are identified between 900 and 1000 cm−1. These vibrational frequencies were calculated using Si9 and Si10 cluster models that included all possible structures from zero to five oxygen insertions into the top layer silicon atoms using a B3LYP gradient corrected density functional method with a polarized 6-31G** basis set for all atoms. The three pairs of vibrational modes are assigned to the scissoring modes of adjacent and isolated SiH2 with zero, one, and two oxygen atoms inserted into the Si back bonds. All the other newly observed vibrational peaks related to Si oxidation are also assigned in this study. The Si-O stretching bands observed in the reaction 2D + H2O/Si(1 0 0)-(2 × 1) show an isotope effect, which suggests that in the system 2H + H2O/Si(1 0 0)-(2 × 1) also, hydrogen atom tunneling plays an important role for the insertion of oxygen atoms into Si back bonds that form oxidized adjacent dihydrides.  相似文献

Surface plasmon resonance sensors based on Ag-metalized nanolayer in microstructured optical fibers are theoretically analyzed by using finite element method (FEM). In our simulations we use Drude-Lorentz model to describe the metal dielectric constant. The numerical results show that the sensitivity of Ag-metalized SPR sensor could reach 1167 nm/RIU and corresponding resolution is 8.57×10−5 RIU. Compared to conventional Au-metalized SPR sensors the performance of our device is obviously better.  相似文献
