Stability analysis of structurally unstable man–machine system involving time delays

In this paper, a structurally unstable man–machine system is considered and a rigorous mathematical analysis is performed to study the influence of time delays in the control force on stability of the equilibrium solution of this system. Results on stability, instability and conditions for the preservation of stability (instability), besides the existence of bifurcation are presented.

A note on the critical points of equilibrium paths in imperfect structures

In a recent work (Int. J. Solids Struct. 37 (2000) 1561) by one of the authors, an extended system for calculating critical points of equilibrium paths in imperfect structures was presented. However, the extremum nature of these points was not analyzed explicitly in that paper. In this note, we will fill in the gap and establish a sufficient condition for determining the buckling strength of imperfect structures.

本文把文[1]、[2]的变换技巧推广到变系数线性系统(i=1,…,n),用函数方法,研究了n=2、3时零解的稳定性,得到了零解稳定的若干判据.有关系数a_(ij)(t)不必都限制为有界.     

旋涡运动的稳定性与角动量守恒

本文利用角动量作为Liapunov函数建立二维的圆形涡块及涡环在有限或无限区域上的(Liapunov)非线性稳定性.     

Comparison of the sensitivity of 11 crosslinked hyaluronic acid gels to bovine testis hyaluronidase

Crosslinked hyaluronan gels are used in various applications where their stability is a prerequisite. The sensitivity of such gels to hyaluronidase can be determined as an index of stability by several approaches: chromatography, electrophoresis, and viscometry. We describe here a test based on the colorimetric determination of the N-acetyl-d-glucosamine released by hyaluronidase in standardized conditions. The sensitivities to bovine testicular hyaluronidase of 11 different gels used to fill skin wrinkles (Restylane; Perlane; Juvéderm 18, 24, 24HV, 30, and 30HV; Surgiderm 18, 24XP, 30, and 30XP) were compared.The method was reproducible, easy to perform, not time-consuming and allowed us to demonstrate that the sensitivity to testicular hyaluronidase was dependent on the degree of crosslinking of the gels and also on their monophasic/biphasic nature. Under our conditions, Surgiderm 30, 24XP and 30XP were the most resistant gels.We propose to retain the hyaluronidase test to predict the in situ stability of a crosslinked gel used to fill skin wrinkles.     

Positive Steady States of a Prey-predator Model with Diffusion and Non-monotone Conversion Rate

In this paper, we study the positive steady states of a prey-predator model with diffusion throughout and a non-monotone conversion rate under the homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. We obtain some results of the existence and non-existence of positive steady states. The stability and uniqueness of positive steady states are also discussed.
