Controlled growth of single-crystal high-quality ‘track-and-field ground’ shaped graphene domains and the morphological evolution from hexagonal to hexagram graphene domain even square and circular graphene domain has been achieved by low-pressure CVD on solid copper substrate, thereby demonstrating that the shape of the graphene grains can potentially be precisely tuned by optimizing growth parameters. The etching reaction of graphene has also been studied, and results show that a low flow rate of hydrogen (99.999%) is favorable to form hexagonal structure for the etching reaction of graphene due to the exist of oxygen or oxidizing impurities in hydrogen gas commonly used. Controlled growth and etching reaction of graphene determine the final shape of graphene domains and all these efforts contribute to the study of size and morphology and the growth mechanism of graphene domains.  相似文献

Here we describe the story behind the link between molecular chirality and macroscopic phenomena, the latter being a probe for the direct assignment of absolute configuration of chiral molecules. First, a brief tour of the history of molecular stereochemistry, starting with the classic experiment reported by Pasteur in 1848 on the separation of enantiomorphous crystals of a salt of tartaric acid, and his conclusion that the molecules of life are chiral of single-handedness. With time, this study raised, inter alia, two fundamental questions: the absolute configuration of chiral molecules and how a molecule of given configuration shapes the enantiomorphous morphology of its crystal. As for the first question, following the beginning of crystal structure determination by X-ray diffraction in 1912, it took almost 40 years before Bijvoet assigned molecular chirality through the esoteric method involving anomalous X-ray scattering. We have been able to address and link both questions through ‘everyday concepts of left and right’ (in the words of Jack Dunitz) by the use of ‘tailor-made’ auxiliaries. By such means, it proved possible to reveal, through morphology, etch patterns, epitaxy and symmetry reduction of both chiral and, paradoxically, centrosymmetric crystals, the basic chiral symmetry of the molecules of life, the α-amino acids and sugars.  相似文献

This study established a ferric ion (Fe3+) detection method as a result of the fluorescence quenching effect of Fe3+ on carbon dots (CDs). Specifically, we proposed, a green microwave synthesis route towards fluorescent CDs that requires only the brewer’s spent grain as starting materials. Transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy were performed to investigate the CDs characteristic: morphology, size distribution, functional groups, and composition, respectively. The experimental results, which were run under optimal experimental conditions, indicated that the fluorescence intensity and concentration of Fe3+ were within the desired linear range (0.3–7 μM). The detection limit of this assay towards Fe3+ was 95 nM. The proposed method showed significant selectivity with respect to interfering ions. We evaluated the potential application of this method with tap water, lake water and fetal bovine serum as real samples. Additionally, the CDs could be served as superior bioimaging probes in Hela cells as a result of their excellent optical stability and good biocompatibility. In a word, the present study provides a new idea for CDs derived from the waste of agricultural products for detecting food or environmental contaminants and cell imaging.  相似文献

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a progressive neurodegenerative disease of central nervous system among elderly people. Human acetylcholinesterase (hAChE), an important enzyme in neuronal signaling, is responsible for the degradation of acetylcholine which in turn prevents the post synaptic signal transmissions. hAChE has been an attractive target of drug discovery for the search of therapeutics against AD. In the recent past hAChE has become hot target for the investigation of new potential therapeutics. We performed virtual screening of entire database against hAChE. Further, the extra precision molecular docking was carried out to refine the docking results and the best complex was passed for molecular dynamics simulations in order of understanding the hAChE dynamics and its behavior in complex with the ligand which corroborate the outcomes of virtual screening. This also provides binding free energy data that establishes the ligands efficiency for inhibiting hAChE. The computational findings discussed in this paper provide initial information of inhibitory effects of ligand, (drugbank entry DB00983), over hAChE.  相似文献

The polysaccharide (PSH) extracts from the edible mushroom species Coprinus comatus and Coprinellus truncorum were screened in liquid for their acetylcholinesterase inhibitory (AChE) activity. Both extracts were found to display inhibition of the aforementioned enzyme reaching similar IC50 values of 0.62 ± 0.07 and 0.61 ± 0.03 mg/mL, respectively. According to the means of FTIR spectroscopy, these PSH extracts mostly contained β-glucans. However, the presence of some proteins and polyphenolics as minor ingredients were also detected. Compared with existing literature data for anti-AChE activity of the sugar samples, the findings within this study may be treated as a profound bioactivity. Consequently, this study puts some light on the possible use of the screened macrofungi in the palliative treatment of Alzheimer’s disease.  相似文献

The primary clinical diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease is mainly based on medical history and neuropsychiatric inventory. It is urgent to seek biological indicators with better sensitivity and higher specificity to clinically diagnose and evaluate Alzheimer’s disease. In this work, an electrophoretic method based on 2-thiobarbituric acid derivatization and amperometric detection was developed to determine formaldehyde as a urinary biomarker of Alzheimer’s disease. Under the optimum conditions, the formaldehyde derivative was well separated from the coexisting interferences in urine sample. The limit of detection for formaldehyde was 80.0?nM (2.4?ng/?mL) based on an electrophoretic stacking technology. The average recovery values were in the range of 91.7–110%, and the relative standard deviation values were less than 4.1%. This method has been applied to analyze human urine samples from healthy volunteers and patients with different degrees of Alzheimer’s disease. Solvent effect is one of the important factors in sample preparation which may affect matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight (MALDI-TOF) mass spectra of synthetic polymers. MALDI imaging, a useful imaging tool for discovering biomarkers in tissues, is applied here for better comprehension of solvent effect in polymer analysis by MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry. Nylon-6 was chosen as a model polymer for the study of solvent effect. Its MALDI mass spectra in different solvents were performed. MALDI imaging analysis was performed for studying the incorporation of analytes into matrix crystals in different solvent combinations. Specifically, the colocalization of matrix and analyte was obtained through Pearson’s correlation (PC) coefficient analysis of their MALDI images. The results demonstrated that satisfactory spectra were obtained in higher PC value conditions. PC decreased along with an increase in the ratio of poor solvent, which suggested that we should minimize the poor solvent ratio to obtain better MALDI spectra.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate the brain targeting potential of rasagiline-encapsulated chitosan-coated PLGA nanoparticles (RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs) delivered intranasally into the brain. Chitosan-coated PLGA nanoparticles (RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs) were developed through double emulsification-solvent evaporation technique. RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs were characterized for particle size, zeta potential, size distribution, encapsulation efficiency, and in vitro drug release. The mean particle size, polydispersity index, and encapsulation efficiency were found to be 122.38?±?3.64, 0.212?±?0.009, and 75.83?±?3.76, respectively. High-performance liquid chromatography–mass spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy study showed a significantly high mucoadhesive potential of RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs and least for conventional and homogenized nanoformulation. Pharmacokinetic results of RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs in Wistar rat brain and plasma showed a significantly high (**p?<?0.005) AUC0-24 and amplified Cmax over intravenous treatment group. Finally, the investigation demonstrated that intranasal delivery of mucoadhesive nanocarrier showed significant enhancement of bioavailability in brain, after administration of the RSG-CS-PLGA-NPs which could be a substantial achievement of direct nose to brain targeting in Parkinson’s disease therapy and related brain disorders.  相似文献
