Polyacrylonitrile (PAN) was grafted from surfaces of chloro‐modified silica‐gel with their surface chlorines as initiation sites, using an iron (III)‐mediated surface‐initiated atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) with activators regenerated by electron transfer (SI‐ARGET ATRP) method. The graft reaction exhibits first‐order kinetics with respect to the polymerization time in the low‐monomer‐conversion stage. The conversion of monomer (C%) and the percentage of grafting (PG%) increased with increasing of the polymerizing time and reached 23 and 730% after a polymerizing time of 24 hr, respectively. Hydroxylamine (NH2OH·HCl) was used to modify the cyano groups of SG‐g‐PAN to obtain amidoxime (AO) groups. The AO SG‐g‐PAN was used to remove Hg2+. The adsorption kinetics indicated that the pseudo‐second‐order model was more suitable to describe the adsorption kinetics of AO SG‐g‐PAN for Hg2+. The adsorption isotherms demonstrated that Langmuir model was much better than Freundlich model to describe the isothermal process. Copyright © 2010 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A novel poly(aniline‐coo‐aminophenol) (PAOA)/mesoporous silica SBA‐15 nanocomposite was synthesized and investigated for adsorption of Hg (II) from aqueous solutions of wide pH range. A chemical oxidation method was employed for polymerization of aniline and o‐aminophenol on an ordered SBA‐15 template to obtain a significantly enlarged BET surface area of the adsorbent. Efficiency study revealed that the PAOA/SBA‐15 could reach a maximum Hg (II) adsorption capacity of over 400 mg/g. Kinetic study showed that the Hg (II) adsorption by the PAOA/SBA‐15 fitted a pseudo‐second‐order kinetic model, indicating that the mercury adsorption process was predominantly controlled by chemical process. The results of this study also proved that the adsorbed Hg (II) could be effectively desorbed from the PAOA/SBA‐15 in 0.1M HCl and 5% sulfocarbonide solutions. Associated adsorption mechanism was also investigated by means of Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) techniques. Magnetic poly(acrylic acid‐acrylamide‐butyl methacrylate) (P(AAB)) nanocomposite hydrogels were prepared and used as adsorbents for removal and separation of cationic dyes from aqueous solution. These magnetic P(AAB) nanocomposite hydrogels were characterized by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). It was found that these magnetic P(AAB) nanocomposite hydrogels had magnetic responsive characters. The dynamic swelling, removal, and separation of cationic dye, crystal violet (CV), and basic magenta (BM) by these magnetic nanocomposite hydrogels were studied. The adsorption capacity and isotherm studies of cationic dyes onto magnetic P(AAB) nanocomposite hydrogels have been evaluated. The magnetic P(AAB) nanocomposite hydrogels containing Fe3O4 particles can be easily manipulated in magnetic field for removal and separation of cationic dyes from aqueous solution. Horseradish peroxidase (HRP) is immobilized in three easy steps on SiO(2) surfaces with the help of a polycationic second generation dendronized polymer (denpol) and the biotin-avidin system. This stepwise immobilization process is monitored and quantitatively analyzed with the transmission interferometric adsorption sensor. Partially biotinylated denpol is first adsorbed onto SiO(2) , followed by addition of avidin and then of biotinylated HRP. Denpols in their molecular structure combine properties of polymers as well as dendrimers which are found to be of clear advantage for this type of non-covalent enzyme immobilization. With respect to the reproducibility of the adsorption process and with respect to the stability of the adsorbed polymer layer, the denpol is superior to α-poly-D-lysine which is used as a reference polymer. Furthermore, HRP immobilized with the denpol on commercial glass slides remains considerably more active upon storage as compared to HRP immobilized with the help of α-poly-D-lysine with a similar number of repeating units. The ease of the denpol-mediated HRP immobilization and the high stability of the immobilized enzyme are promising for bioanalytical applications.  相似文献

A porous polyamide resin is shown to possess hydrogen bond acceptor properties suitable for the separation of polyphenolic solutes such as phenolic acids, flavonols and flavonoids. The separation is achieved in the presence of solvent mixtures of acetic acid and ethanol. The extent of hydrogen bond adsorption is reviewed based on data obtained from the elution behaviour of a variety of simple polyphenolic solutes. Polyamide adsorption chromatography was applied for the purification of resveratrol and polydatin from Polygonum cuspidatum Sieb. & Zucc.  相似文献

The aim of this study was to investigate functional increments of ion exchange type ligands, which may improve the performance of mixed-modal ligands for antibody capture out of feed solutions with pH above 6.0 and containing sodium chloride concentrations of 150 mM and higher. For this purpose several functional groups such as sulfonyl, sulfanyl, amide, methoxy, short alkyl and aromatic moieties were tested in combination with a strong sulfonic acid and/or a weak carboxylic acid group. Therefore a series of ligands were synthesized and subsequently coupled onto epoxide activated Fractogel® EMD. In the first instance, all materials were tested by static binding capacity measurements (SBC) under test conditions, comprising a wide variety of different sodium chloride concentrations and differing pH values ranging from 4.5 to 7.5. From these preliminary experiment it was found that especially the aromatic groups improved the binding of human immunoglobulin G (h-IgG) under isotonic conditions, while other increments, e.g. thiophilic or amide groups, were not able to increase the capacity significantly. Taking the SBC results into account, the most promising materials were investigated under dynamic binding conditions (DBC) with a reduced selection of test conditions (pH 5.5, 6.5 and 7.4 at 75 and 150 mM NaCl). N-benzoyl-homocysteine (material J) and 3,5-dimethoxybenzoyl-homocysteine (material K) showed 100% DBCs of 37 mg/mL and 32 mg/mL in the presence of 75 mM NaCl and pH 6.5. Material L carrying mercaptobenzoic acid as a ligand and tested with the same solution provided a 100% DBC of 68 mg/mL. The influence of Pluronic F68 in a mock feed solution as well as in cell culture supernatant was investigated with the best performing bio-affinity type adsorbent, material L. For the real sample feed subsequent SDS-PAGE was conducted for the collected fractions.  相似文献

Small AgnPd (n = 5) clusters and their hydrides AgnPdH (n = 5) have been studied by density functional theory calculations. For bare clusters, the structures in which the Pd atom has a maximum number of neighboring Ag atoms tend to be energetically favorable. Hydrogen prefers binding to Ag? Pd bridge site of AgnPd clusters except for Ag5Pd. The binding energy has a strong odd–even oscillation.
