Improved preparative electrochromatography column design 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
Improved chromatography column fittings were developed for the efficient and reliable application of an electric field to a preparative chromatography column (a process termed electrochromatography). The improved fittings contained electrodes in close proximity to the column packing media and allowed uniform electric fields to be applied. Membranes in the fittings prevented mixing of the electrode and the column eluent buffers. The membranes prevented gases and electrolytic products generated in the electrode chamber from entering the column eluent buffer. An electrode buffer solution was pumped through the electrode chamber to a large external container. The circulation of buffer through the electrode chamber removed the gases and electrolytic products and ensured a uniform electric field by helping to maintain a constant buffer composition. The membranes prevented macromolecules being separated on the column from coming in contact with the electrodes. 相似文献

The Gemini Observatory has developed an extensive Adaptive Optics (AO) program, including Classical AO, Laser Guide Star (LGS) AO, Multi-Conjugate AO (MCAO), extreme AO (eXAO) and Ground Layer AO (GLAO). Most of these instruments use one or several LGSs. A laser has been in operation at Gemini since May 2005. Most of the laser related systems (beam transport, launch, safety systems) have been developed in house. These are major components, requiring a development effort not to be underestimated. Methods and devices that use gas flows to collect ions and transfer them over long distances for mass spectrometric analysis have been developed. Gas flows derived from the ionization source itself or provided by means of additional pumping were used to generate a laminar flow inside cylindrical tube. Hydrodynamic simulations and experimental tests demonstrate that laminar flow can transfer ions over long distance. The typical angular discrimination effects encountered when sampling ions from ambient ionization sources are minimized, and the sampling of relatively large surface areas is demonstrated with desorption electrospray ionization (DESI). Ion transfer over 6 m has been achieved and its application to multiplexed chemical analysis is demonstrated on samples at locations remote from the mass spectrometer. A frontal chromatographic unit was devised consisting of a column-detector-column array. The unit is either equipped with identical columns (identical twins) or with columns of varying length (fraternal twins). Due to the finite nature of the columns, a prerun is formed at the column walls following the same regularities as the main stream. These regularities are used for the identification of the process termination below the detection limits of the monitor. The use of a new hybrid quadrupole/linear ion trap known as the Q TRAP offers unique benefits as a LC-MS-MS detector for both small and large molecule analyses. The instrument combines the capabilities of a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer and ion trap technology on a single platform. Product ion scans are conducted in a hybrid fashion with the fragmentation step accomplished via acceleration into the collision cell followed by trapping and mass analysis in the Q3 linear ion trap. This results in triple quadrupole fragmentation patterns with no inherent low molecular mass cutoff. In-trap fragmentation is also possible in order to provide triple MS (MS3) capabilities. There are also several scan modes that are not possible on conventional instruments that enable identification of analytes within complex biological matrixes for subsequent high sensitivity product ion scans. This report will describe the new hybrid instrument and the principles of operation, and also provide examples of the unique scan modes and capabilities of the Q TRAP for LC-MS-MS detection in metabolism identification. 相似文献

We give a method of translating certain classes of IΔ0 + exp proofs into weaker systems of arithmetic such as Buss' systems S2. We show if IEi (exp) ⊢ A with a proof P of expind‐rank(P) ≤ n + 1where all (∀ ≤: right) or (∃ ≤: left) have bounding terms not containing function symbols, then Si 2 ⊇ IEi,2 ⊢ An. Here A is not necessarily a bounded formula. For IOpen(exp) we prove a similar result. Using our translations we show IOpen(exp) ⊊ IΔ0(exp). A new automated Detection And Stimulation Head (DASH) has been developed for the Risø TL/OSL luminescence reader to provide easy access to new technologies, new signals and new measurement methods. The automated DASH includes a filter changer and a detector changer that makes it possible to change stimulation filters (4 × 4 filter combinations possible) and detectors (3 detectors possible) as part of a measurements sequence. The new automated DASH with dedicated driver electronics does not affect the use of other attachments, and can be retrospectively fitted to existing Risø TL/OSL readers. 相似文献
