A sealing cap had been proposed as an output device for hollow optical fibers in delivering laser light underwater. Properties of sealing cap were experimentally discussed when used in ablation on soft tissue for Er:YAG laser. A self-cleaning effect of the sealing cap was observed when various targets were used for different laser light power. Debris from pork fat formed a uniform oil layer on the output surface of the cap, and the oil layer is relatively transparent in Er:YAG laser light wavelength band. When the target was pork muscle, almost no debris could attach on the surface of the cap. The self-cleaning effect was more obvious when ablation was conducted underwater because of the protection of the water film between the target and the cap's surface.  相似文献

为解决某MPV前门区域发生“呜呜”风噪啸叫问题,路试验证密封条、车门、A柱区域密封系统以及采用格子波尔兹曼(LBM)方法模拟风洞仿真分析A柱、侧窗区域流场。结果表明车门侧密封条和A柱钣金空腔的气流从密封条唇边泄露,与A柱区域的涡流形成耦合振动,产生啸叫。啸叫问题与车门侧密封条、车门以及A柱造型有关。更改车门侧密封条外唇边根部材料提高压缩负荷,并在与A柱接角处增加两个凸筋,进一步试验验证,啸叫消失,问题得到解决。  相似文献

A key property of rubbers for sealing applications is their ability to rapidly recover the deformation during a fast movement of the counterparts, occurring in a transient deformation phase. In this work, a simple experimental test method (recovery test) is put forward to mimic the transient phase and to get insight into the behavior of the material during such phase. The effect of the addition of small quantities of carbon nanotubes (CNT) to a carbon black filled nitrile butadiene rubber on the sealing ability of the material was studied. The recovery tests show that the overall recovery behavior is related mostly to the material stress relaxation behavior, while the recovery behavior at very short times, which is indicative of the performance during a transient deformation phase, is strongly influenced by the material elastic modulus and, therefore, it is improved by the presence of CNT in the elastomeric composite.  相似文献

Predicting the lifetime of fluorosilicone o-rings   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Long-term (up to 1000 days) accelerated oven-aging studies on a commercial fluorosilicone o-ring seal are used to predict the sealing lifetime at room temperature (23 °C). The study follows force decay (relaxation) on squeezed o-ring material using isothermal compression stress relaxation (CSR) techniques. The relaxation is normally a complex mix of reversible physical effects and non-reversible chemical effects but we utilize an over-strain approach to quickly achieve physical equilibrium. This allows us to concentrate the measurements on the chemical relaxation effects of primary interest to lifetime assessment. The long-term studies allow us to access a fairly broad temperature range (80-138 °C) which results in improved modeling of the temperature dependence of the accelerated data. Non-Arrhenius behavior is observed with evidence of a significant lowering of the activation energy at the lowest accelerated aging temperature (80 °C). This observation is consistent with numerous recent accelerated aging studies that probed temperature ranges large enough to observe similar non-Arrhenius behavior. The extrapolated predictions imply that significant loss of sealing force requires on the order of 50-100 years at 23 °C. Field aging results out to ∼25 years at 23 °C are shown to be in reasonable accord with the significant change in Arrhenius slope observed from the accelerated aging study.  相似文献

Summary In this paper a new sealing method for the static coating of capillary columns is described. When one end of the fully filled capillary was immersed into liquid nitrogen in a Dewar flask, the coating solution at this end would be frozen and became a temporary seal, and an air-free solvent/seal interface was obtained. No bumping has ever been found at the interface, even when butane was used as solvent. By applying this sealing method, several capillary columns, including some narrow bore capillary, had been successfully coated.  相似文献

In technical applications, static seals are sometimes also subjected to dynamic loadings. Therefore, the leakage behaviour under dynamic conditions has to be evaluated as well. For this purpose, FKM elastomer seals have been tested by using newly designed equipment that allows for rapid partial release of the seal and simultaneous leakage rate measurement at a wide range of test temperatures. Furthermore, material characterisation was done by using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis, Differential Scanning Calorimetry and Compression Set. It was shown that, under static conditions, the leakage rate increased significantly during cooling at temperatures around 18 K lower than the glass transition range. On reheating, the seal's functionality was restored in the high temperature region of the glass rubber transition. In the subsequent dynamic release tests, that comprised a reduction of the seal compression within 1 s from 25% to 23%, increased leakage rates were observed in the high temperature region of the glass transition range. It was shown that the temperature that is critical for increased leakage is significantly lower under static conditions compared to dynamic conditions. The obtained leakage rates for static tests and dynamic release tests at different temperatures were analysed with reference to results of the material characterisation.  相似文献

A method is described whereby elastomer O-ring performance can be evaluated by compression stress relaxation in a simulated gas turbine lubrication system. The O-ring retained sealing force is measured in real-time during high temperature ageing and during transients to lower temperatures, thus simulating the temperature regimes experienced in an operational gas turbine. In addition to this, the O-rings are exposed to a flow of realistically aged turbine lubricant, producing a realistic level of chemical degradation during testing. The results from this work have demonstrated significant differences between elastomer behaviour due to O-ring material and also due to the temperature regimes subjected to during compression stress relaxation. Taken as a whole, this work represents a considerable improvement on current elastomer O-ring test methods as applied to gas turbine lubricant system seals.  相似文献
