In this paper, we study regression problems over a separable Hilbert space with the square loss, covering non-parametric regression over a reproducing kernel Hilbert space. We investigate a class of spectral/regularized algorithms, including ridge regression, principal component regression, and gradient methods. We prove optimal, high-probability convergence results in terms of variants of norms for the studied algorithms, considering a capacity assumption on the hypothesis space and a general source condition on the target function. Consequently, we obtain almost sure convergence results with optimal rates. Our results improve and generalize previous results, filling a theoretical gap for the non-attainable cases.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate frames for L2d[−π,π] consisting of exponential functions in connection to oversampling and nonuniform sampling of bandlimited functions. We derive a multidimensional nonuniform oversampling formula for bandlimited functions with a fairly general frequency domain. The stability of said formula under various perturbations in the sampled data is investigated, and a computationally manageable simplification of the main oversampling theorem is given. Also, a generalization of Kadec's 1/4 theorem to higher dimensions is considered. Finally, the developed techniques are used to approximate biorthogonal functions of particular exponential Riesz bases for L2[−π,π], and a well-known theorem of Levinson is recovered as a corollary.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss sampling and reconstruction of signals in the weighted reproducing kernel space associated with an idempotent integral operator. We show that any signal in that space can be stably reconstructed from its weighted samples taken on a relatively-separated set with sufficiently small gap. We also develop an iterative reconstruction algorithm for the reconstruction of a signal from its weighted samples taken on a relatively-separated set with sufficiently small gap.  相似文献

In this paper, we propose an original approach to the solution of Fredholm equations of the second kind. We interpret the standard Von Neumann expansion of the solution as an expectation with respect to a probability distribution defined on a union of subspaces of variable dimension. Based on this representation, it is possible to use trans-dimensional Markov chain Monte Carlo (MCMC) methods such as Reversible Jump MCMC to approximate the solution numerically. This can be an attractive alternative to standard Sequential Importance Sampling (SIS) methods routinely used in this context. To motivate our approach, we sketch an application to value function estimation for a Markov decision process. Two computational examples are also provided.  相似文献

In this article the well-known hypercircle inequality is extended to the Riesz bases setting. A natural application for this new inequality is given by the estimation of the truncation error in nonorthogonal sampling formulas. Examples including the estimation of the truncation error for wavelet sampling expansions or for nonorthogonal sampling formulas in Paley–Wiener spaces are exhibited.  相似文献

In this article we present an inversion algorithm for the determination of the shape of a two-dimensional penetrable obstacle from knowledge of the elastic field generated by an incident plane compressional and shear wave. In particular, Kirsch's improved variant of the linear sampling method, the so called (F * F?)1/4-method is extended to the elastic case. A mathematical analysis that reveals the compactness and normality of the far-field operator is presented. Finally, numerical results are presented showing the robustness of the (F * F?)1/4-method with respect to noise.  相似文献

We shall discuss the relations among sampling theory (Sinc method), reproducing kernels and the Tikhonov regularization. Here, we see the important difference of the Sobolev Hilbert spaces and the Paley–Wiener spaces when we use their reproducing kernel Hibert spaces as approximate spaces in the Tikhonov regularization. Further, by using the Paley–Wiener spaces, we shall illustrate numerical experiments for new inversion formulas for the Gaussian convolution as a much more powerful and improved method by using computers. In this article, we shall be able to give practical numerical and analytical inversion formulas for the Gaussian convolution that is realized by computers.  相似文献

In this article, we study a nonlinear version of the sampling Kantorovich type operators in a multivariate setting and we show applications to image processing. By means of the above operators, we are able to reconstruct continuous and uniformly continuous signals/images (functions). Moreover, we study the modular convergence of these operators in the setting of Orlicz spaces L ?(? n ) that allows us to deal the case of not necessarily continuous signals/images. The convergence theorems in L p (? n )-spaces, L αlog β L(? n )-spaces and exponential spaces follow as particular cases. Abstract

Modifications of Prony's classical technique for estimating rate constants in exponential fitting problems have many contemporary applications. In this article the consistency of Prony's method and of related algorithms based on maximum likelihood is discussed as the number of observations n → ∞ by considering the simplest possible models for fitting sums of exponentials to observed data. Two sampling regimes are relevant, corresponding to transient problems and problems of frequency estimation, each of which is associated with rather different kinds of behavior. The general pattern is that the stronger results are obtained for the frequency estimation problem. However, the algorithms considered are all scaling dependent and consistency is not automatic. A new feature that emerges is the importance of an appropriate choice of scale in order to ensure consistency of the estimates in certain cases. The tentative conclusion is that algorithms referred to as Objective function Reweighting Algorithms (ORA's) are superior to their exact maximum likelihood counterparts, referred to as Gradient condition Reweighting Algorithms (GRA's), especially in the frequency estimation problem. This conclusion does not extend to fitting other families of functions such as rational functions.  相似文献
