Radical trifluoromethylation of ketone Li enolates

It has generally been believed that highly basic Li enolates cannot be applied as substrates for radical trifluoromethylation due to defluorination of the α-CF₃ product. However, Li enolates can be in fact employed for radical trifluoromethylation. Moreover, the reaction is extremely fast and the minimum reaction time is only ∼1 s.     

Addition of diazocyclopropane generatedin situ to acrylic acid derivatives and transformations of resulting functionally substituted spiro(pyrazolinecyclopropanes)

The reaction of diazocyclopropane generatedin situ with acrylonitrile or methyl acrylate to give 1∶1, 1∶2, and 2∶1 cycloadducts was carried out. The products resulting from 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition and subsequent isomeriation,viz., 3-cyano- and 3-methoxycarbonylspiro(2-pyrazoline-5,1′-cyclopropanes), isolated in the first step in ∼70% yield, react in an alkaline solution with the above acrylates or diazocyclopropane as C(3)-nucleophiles to give the corresponding 3-(2′-cyanoethyl)-, 3-(2′-methoxycarbonylethyl)-, or 3-(cyclopropylazo)-1-pyrazolines. 用Ｘ－射线晶体结构衍射法测定了双［１－苄基－１－乙基丙基环戊二烯基］二氯化锆［η５－Ｃ５Ｈ４Ｃ（Ｃ２Ｈ５）２ＣＨ２Ｃ６Ｈ５］２ＺｒＣｌ２（Ｉ）及（１，２－二异丁基－１，２－甲基－乙基桥联）双环戊二烯基二氯化锆［η５－Ｃ５Ｈ４Ｃ（ＣＨ３）（Ｃ４Ｈ９－ｉ）Ｃ（ＣＨ３）（Ｃ４Ｈ９－ｉ）Ｃ５Ｈ４－η５］ＺｒＣｌ２（Ⅱ）的结构。二者皆为单斜晶系，（Ｉ）的空间群为Ｐ２／ｎ，ａ＝１２．５８２（３），ｂ＝７．９９２（２），ｃ＝１４．９７９（３）Ａ，β＝１０１．６８（１）°，Ｖ＝１４７４．９（９）Ａ３，Ｍｒ＝６１２．８４，Ｚ＝２，Ｄｘ＝１．３８ｇ／ｃｍ３，μ＝５．６９ｃｍ（－１），Ｆ（０００）＝６４０，Ｒ＝０．０３３，Ｒω＝０．０３６。（Ⅱ）的空间群为Ｃｃ，ａ＝１３．３０９（３），ｂ＝９．５９１（１），ｃ＝１６．４４９（８）Ａ。β＝４．８３（３）°，Ｖ＝２０９．２（２）Ａ３，Ｍｒ＝４５８．６３，Ｚ＝４，Ｄｘ＝１．４５６ｇ／ｃｍ３，μ＝７．７７ｃｍ（－１），Ｆ（０００）＝９５２，Ｒ＝０．０５１，Ｒω＝０．０６１。化合物（Ｉ）以重叠式存在，两个苄基处于反式。晶体（Ⅱ）以交叉式存在，甲基、异丁基以反式构象存在。     

表面活性剂的基体辅助激光解吸电离/质谱分析表征

利用基体辅助激光解吸电离／质谱（MALDI－MS）技术对表面活性剂的分析表征进行了详细研究。以2，5－二羟基苯甲酸作为基体，考察MALDI样品制备方法如液滴干燥法、快速干燥法及三明治法对测定结果的影响，发现三明治方法更适合表面活性剂的分析。MALDI可以准确测定离子型表面活性剂的分子量，同时对于非离子型表面活性剂，还可以测定其平均聚合度和分子量的分布。     

Stereoselective acid-catalyzed homoallylic rearrangement of cyclopropylsilylmethanols: an efficient route to Z-homoallyl derivatives

Treatment of cyclopropylsilylmethanols derived from cyclopropyl silyl ketones with acid catalyst gives the corresponding silyl-substituted homoallyl derivatives in high yields with good stereoselectivity, independent of the substituents on the cyclopropyl ring. Cyclopropylsilylmethanols having a n-, s-butyl or phenyl group on the carbinyl carbon react to afford the E-homoallyl derivatives selectively. On the other hand, the reaction of cyclopropylsilylmethanols having a tert-butyl group gives Z-isomers exclusively. The following protiodesilylation of the resulting homoallyl derivatives proceeds with retention of configuration.     

Synthesis of 4- and 6-substituted nitroindoles

Enolizable ketones react with m-nitroaniline in the presence of strong base such as t-BuOK to give 4- and 6-substituted nitroindoles. The reaction proceeds via oxidative nucleophilic substitution of hydrogen in m-nitroaniline with enolate anions in positions ortho to the amino group giving anionic σ^H adducts that are additionally stabilized by intramolecular interaction between the amino and the carbonyl group. Spontaneous oxidation of the σ^H adducts followed by the Bayer type condensation of the produced ortho-aminonitrobenzyl ketones gives 4- and 6-substituted nitroindoles. The scope of this reaction and its basic mechanistic features are discussed.

Development of Odorless Thiols and Sulfides and Their Applications to Organic Synthesis

Summary. Development of new odorless thiols (dodecanethiol, 4-n-heptylphenylmethanethiol, 4-trimethylsilylphenylmethanethiol, 4-trimethylsilylbenzenethiol) and an odorless sulfide (1-methylsulfanyldodecane) and their applications to dealkylation, Michael addition, Swern oxidation, and Corey-Kim oxidation are described.

Synthesis of (+)-goniothalesdiol and (+)-7-epi-goniothalesdiol

A total synthesis of (+)-goniothalesdiol, a 3,4-dihydroxy-2,5-disubstituted tetrahydrofuran isolated from Goniothalamus borneensis (Annonaceae), and its 7-epimer is reported using oxycarbonylation methodology for construction of polyhydroxylated substituted heterocycles. Diastereoselectivity of addition of organometallic reagents to 2,3-O-isopropylidene-d-threose derivatives using theoretical calculations based on the semiempirical PM5 was studied.
