A series of metal(II) complexes ML (where M?=?Cu(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Zn(II), Mn(II), Cd(II), and VO(II)) have been prepared from 3-(3-(2-hydroxyphenyl)-3-oxoprop-1-enyl)-4H-chromen-4-one and sulfanilamide. The structures of the complexes have been investigated by elemental analysis, magnetic susceptibility, molar conductance, IR, UV-Vis, NMR, mass, and ESR spectral studies. Conductivity measurements reveal that the complexes are non-electrolytes, except the oxovanadium complex. Spectral and other data show square pyramidal geometry for oxovanadium and octahedral for the other complexes. The redox behaviors of the copper and vanadyl complexes have been studied through cyclic voltammetry. Antimicrobial activities of the compounds against several microorganisms indicate that some complexes have higher activity than free ligand. The compounds may serve as photoactive materials as indicated from their characteristic fluorescence properties. The second harmonic generation efficiency of the ligand was found to be higher than that of urea and KDP.  相似文献

Novel X-type polyurethane 5 containing 4-(2′-carbomethoxy-2′-cyano)vinyl-6-nitroresorcinoxy groups as nonlinear optical (NLO) chromophores, which constitute part of the polymer backbone, was prepared and characterized. Polyurethane 5 is soluble in common organic solvents such as acetone and N,N-dimethylformamide. It shows thermal stabilities up to 260°C from thermogravimetric analysis with glass transition temperature obtained from differential scanning calorimetry near 108°C. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficient (d33) of poled polymer film at 1064 nm fundamental wavelength is 9.83 × 10?9 esu. Polymer 5 exhibits a high thermal stability even at 2°C higher than Tg, and no significant SHG decay is observed below 110°C, which is acceptable for nonlinear optical device applications.  相似文献

Single crystals of a new nonlinear optical compound [(18C6)Li][Cd(SCN)3][(18-crown-6-ether) lithium(I) trithiocyanate cadmium(II), CLTC], with dimension of 22 mm × 8 mm × 2 mm, were grown from aqueous solutions for the first time via evaporation technique. Solubility of CLTC has been determined for various temperatures. The grown crystals were characterized by single crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) study, powder X-ray diffraction, FT-IR techniques, UV–vis, elemental analysis, EDS analyses and SHG test. Single crystal XRD study has been carried out to identify the lattice parameters and CLTC crystallizes in orthorhombic system. FT-IR studies confirm the functional groups present in the grown crystal. The mechanical properties of the grown crystals have been studied using Vickers microhardness tester. The optical second harmonic generation effect has been measured by using the Kurtz powder technique to be 2 times as large as that of KDP (KH2PO4) crystal. From the optical spectrum, CLTC has good optical transmission in the entire visible region, which is an essential requirement for a nonlinear crystal.  相似文献

Anthracene is one of the organic molecular crystals, which exhibits peculiar optical and electronic properties. Since the 9, 10 positions are very reactive in anthracene, it undergoes the Diel’s–Alder reaction with maleic anhydride in 99% yield. The synthesis of Diel’s–Alder adduct has been carried out by adopting standard procedure. The product was subjected to various characterization studies such as FTIR, UV and 1H NMR spectroscopy, and thermal studies to check its purity and determine the applicability of adduct in various applications. The Quasi-phase-matching periodically poled flux-grown KTP by high electrical field method is researched. A 8×5×1mm3, Λ=9.0μm PPKTP wafer is successfully fabricated for the first order QPM SHG. The interactive length of the sample is about 3mm. The SHG scheme of Nd:YAG at 1064nm tested that the output power of cw 532nm green light is 0.2mw at room temperature with fundamental power of 1.2w. The normalized conversion efficiency is about 0.09% (W·cm)-1.  相似文献

Currently self-assembled DNA delivery systems composed of DNA multivalent cations and anionic lipids are considered to be promising tools for gene therapy. These systems become an alternative to traditional cationic lipid–DNA complexes because of their low cytotoxicity lipids. However, currently these nonviral gene delivery methods exhibit low transfection efficiencies. This feature is in large part due to the poorly understood DNA complexation mechanisms at the molecular level. It is well-known that the adsorption of DNA onto like charged lipid surfaces requires the presence of multivalent cations that act as bridges between DNA and anionic lipids. Unfortunately, the molecular mechanisms behind such adsorption phenomenon still remain unclear. Accordingly a historical background of experimental evidence related to adsorption and complexation of DNA onto anionic lipid surfaces mediated by different multivalent cations is firstly reviewed. Next, recent experiments aimed to characterise the interfacial adsorption of DNA onto a model anionic phospholipid monolayer mediated by Ca2 + (including AFM images) are discussed. Afterwards, modelling studies of DNA adsorption onto charged surfaces are summarised before presenting preliminary results obtained from both CG and all-atomic MD computer simulations. Our results allow us to establish the optimal conditions for cation-mediated adsorption of DNA onto negatively charged surfaces. Moreover, atomistic simulations provide an excellent framework to understand the interaction between DNA and anionic lipids in the presence of divalent cations. Accordingly,our simulation results in conjunction go beyond the macroscopic picture in which DNA is stuck to anionic membranes by using multivalent cations that form glue layers between them. Structural aspects of the DNA adsorption and molecular binding between the different charged groups from DNA and lipids in the presenceof divalent cations are reported in the last part of the study. Although this research work is far from biomedical applications, we truly believe that scientific advances in this line will assist, at least in part, in the rationaldesign and development of optimal carrier systems for genes and applicable to other drugs.  相似文献

A new X-type polyester (4) containing nitrophenylazonitroresorcinoxy groups as NLO chromophores, which are components of the polymer backbone was prepared. Polyester 4 is soluble in common organic solvents such as N,N-dimethylformamide and dimethylsulfoxide. It shows a thermal stability up to 280°C from thermogravimetric analysis with glass-transition temperature (Tg) obtained from differential scanning calorimetry near 120°C. The second harmonic generation (SHG) coefficient (d33) of poled polymer films at the 1064 nm fundamental wavelength is around 5.08 × 10?9 esu. The dipole alignment exhibits a thermal stability even at 5°C higher than Tg, and no SHG decay was observed below 125°C due to the partial main-chain character of polymer structure, which is acceptable for NLO device applications.  相似文献

湿化学法制备的KTiOPO4@SiO2玻璃陶瓷纳米结构和透明性   总被引:2,自引:2,他引:0  
用湿化学法合成了25KTiOPO4-75SiO2透明纳米玻璃陶瓷。采用X射线衍射、场发射扫描电子显微镜和二次谐波发生对玻璃陶瓷物相及纳米结构进行了分析。透明凝胶块经过热处理后,从SiO2基玻璃中析出了粒径为~30 nm的KTiOPO4纳米晶体,形成了透明KTiOPO4@SiO2纳米玻璃陶瓷;凝胶粒子的烧结致密化消除了大量不规则介孔,但形成了少量30 nm的球状孔;这种相对致密的玻璃陶瓷在可见光波段的光学透射率为64%左右。根据纳米结构数据,利用瑞利散射模型分析了纳米结构对玻璃陶瓷透明性的影响,结果表明,KTiOPO4晶体与SiO2玻璃相折射率之差是降低致密纳米玻璃陶瓷透明性的主要因素。  相似文献
