This paper describes experimental results obtained with a packaged GaAs Schottky barrier diode in contact with a coaxial connector and placed across waveguides for bands Ka, V, E, W or F. Among the microwave sources used for calibration were 9 carcinotrons in the frequency interval 51–490 GHz. As soon as the frequency F is above the waveguide cut-off frequency, the different characteristics do not depend critically on the waveguide size for V, E, W and F bands. The video detection sensitivity, of several 100 mV/mW at 50 GHz and below, decreases as F–4 in the range 51–500 GHz. Coupling an X-band centimeter frequency via the coaxial connector and a millimeter frequency via the waveguide permits harmonic mixing in the diode. Between 36 and 490 GHz, the harmonic mixing number varies from 3 up to the very large value 40 with conversion losses from 18 to 88 dB. The minimum detectable signal in the 100 kHz band can be as low as –90 dBm at 80 GHz. A noticeable millimeter power is available at the waveguide output from injected centimeter power by harmonic generation. Starting for instance with 100 mW around 11.5 GHz, we have measured 0.1 mW at 80 GHz and 0.1 W at 230 GHz. To illustrate the possibility of creating usable millimeter and submillimeter wave without heavy equipment (such as carcinotrons or millimeter klystron) we report spectroscopic experiments in Rydberg atoms. Resonances have been observed up to 340 GHz by harmonic generation (28th harmonic) from an X-band klystron).  相似文献

本文主要研究了调制探测激光场中铯Rydberg 原子阶梯型三能级系统的电磁感应透明(EIT) 效应. 铯原子基态6S1/2, 第一激发态6P3/2Rydberg 态形成阶梯型三能级系统, 探测光作用于6S1/2 (F = 4)→6P3/2(F' = 5) 的跃迁, 耦合光在Rydberg 跃迁线6P3/2→49S1/2 附近扫描, 形成Rydberg 原子EIT. 当对探测光频率施加一个几kHz 的调制时, 调制解调后的EIT 信号分裂为两个峰, 双峰间距与调制频率无关,而与调制幅度导致的失谐量大小(频率调制幅度) 成正比, 双峰间隔的一半等于探测光频率调制幅度的λpc = 1.67 倍. 实验结果与理论计算相一致. 本文的研究结果可应用于激光线型和频率抖动的实时监测.  相似文献

Quantum Zeno Dynamics restricts the evolution of a system in a tailorable subspace of the Hilbert space by repeated measurements of a proper observable. This restricted dynamics can be counterintuitive and lead to the generation of interesting nonclassical states. We describe an experiment implementing the Zeno dynamics in an atomic Rydberg level manifold, and we propose an implementation in the cavity quantum electrodynamics context. Both systems open promising perspectives for quantum-enabled metrology and decoherence studies.  相似文献

We theoretically study complementarity between micro-micro and micro-macro entanglement in a Bose–Einstein condensate with two Rydberg impurities. We investigate quantum dynamics of micro-micro and micro-macro entanglement in the micro-macro system. It is found that strong micro-macro entanglement between Rydberg impurities and the BEC can be generated by the use of initial micro-micro entanglement between two Rydberg impurities, which acts as the seed entanglement to create micro-macro entanglement. We demonstrate a curious complementarity relation between micro-micro and micro-macro entanglement, and find that the complementarity property can be sustained to some extent even though in the presence of the BEC decoherence.  相似文献

Different from the conventional Rydberg antiblockade (RAB) regime that either requires weak Rydberg-Rydberg interaction (RRI), or compensates the RRI-induced energy shift by introducing off-resonant interactions, we show that RAB regime can be achieved by resonantly driving the transitions between ground state and Rydberg state under strong RRI. The Rabi frequencies are of small amplitude and time-dependent harmonic oscillation, which plays a critical role for the presented RAB. The proposed unconventional RAB regime is used to construct high-fidelity controlled-Z (CZ) gate and controlled-not (CNOT) gate in one step. Each atom requires single external driving. And the atomic addressability is not required for the presented unconventional RAB, which would simplify experimental complexity and reduce resource consumption.  相似文献

Crossed beams scattering study was carried out on the F+HD→DF+H reaction using high- resolution H-atom Rydberg tagging time-of-flight technique. Vibrational state-resolved differential cross sections were measured, with partial rotational state resolution, at eight collision energies in the range of 2.51-5.60 kJ/mol. Experimental results indicated that the product angular distributions are predominantly backward scattered. As the collision energy increases, the backward scattered peak becomes broader gradually. Dependence of product vibration branching ratios on the collision energy was also determined. The experimental results show that the DF products are highly inverted in the vibrational state distribution and the DF (v'=3) product is the most populated state. Furthermore, the DF (v'=l) product has also been observed at collision energy above 3.97 kJ/mol.  相似文献

Studying the complex quantum dynamics of interacting many-body systems is one of the most challenging areas in modern physics. Here, we use machine learning (ML) models to identify the symmetrized base states of interacting Rydberg atoms of various atom numbers (up to six) and geometric configurations. To obtain the data set for training the ML classifiers, we generate Rydberg excitation probability profiles that simulate experimental data by utilizing Lindblad equations that incorporate laser intensities and phase noise. Then, we classify the data sets using support vector machines (SVMs) and random forest classifiers (RFCs). With these ML models, we achieve high accuracy of up to 100% for data sets containing only a few hundred samples, especially for the closed atom configurations such as the pentagonal (five atoms) and hexagonal (six atoms) systems. The results demonstrate that computationally cost-effective ML models can be used in the identification of Rydberg atom configurations.  相似文献
