A model kinetic equation is solved exactly for a special stationary state describing nonlinear Couette flow in a low density system of inelastic spheres. The hydrodynamic fields, heat and momentum fluxes, and the phase space distribution function are determined explicitly. The results apply for conditions such that viscous heating dominates collisional cooling, including large gradients far from the reference homogeneous cooling state. Explicit expressions for the generalized transport coefficients (e.g., viscosity and thermal conductivity) are obtained as nonlinear functions of the coefficient of normal restitution and the shear rate. These exact results for the model kinetic equation are also shown to be good approximations to the corresponding state for the Boltzmann equation via comparison with direct Monte Carlo simulation for the latter.  相似文献

The Navier-Stokes equation is used to analyze the additional phase delay when an oscillating nanotip touches intermittently an entangled polymer melt. Even when the tip oscillates at frequencies of several hundred kilohertz, it is shown that the inertial contributions are negligible as long as the indentation depth is no more than a few ten nanometers. Consequently, a stationary solution can be used leading to the simple Stokes formula. Two simple geometries of the tip are investigated. A smooth tip apex with a spherical shape and an elongated tip apex that aims at mimicking a single asperity. The tip shape has a drastic influence on the measured viscosity at the local scale. A simple calculation indicates that the viscous force acting against the tip motion may exhibit several different behaviors as a function of the indentation depth. Using the variational principle of least action, we derive the corresponding phase variation of the oscillator as a function of the indentation depth. It is shown that there exist situations for which an absolute value of the local viscosity could be measured. Received 13 April 2001 and Received in final form 1 August 2001  相似文献

The influence of multi-frequency combined ultrasound thawing on primary, secondary, and tertiary structures, electrophoresis pattern, particle size distribution, zeta potential values, thermal stability, rheological behavior, and microstructure of small yellow croaker myofibrillar proteins (MPs) were studied. Four treatments were used for thawing small yellow croakers: flow water thawing (FWT), mono-frequency ultrasonic thawing (MUT), dual-frequency ultrasonic thawing (DUT), and tri-frequency ultrasonic thawing (TUT). Compared with fresh samples (FS), the MPs of the sample pretreated by DUT had non-significant effect on protein primary (including free amino groups and surface hydrophobicity), secondary, tertiary structures, electrophoresis pattern, and microstructure. MPs pretreated by DUT had less aggregation and degradation. Besides, DUT treatment increased the thermal stability of MPs. The ultrasound had significant effects on the rheological properties of MPs. Overall, DUT effectively minimized the changes in MPs structure and protected the protein thermal stability and rheological behavior during the thawing process.  相似文献

Relaxation processes in complex systems like polymers or other viscoelastic materials can be described by equations containing fractional differential or integral operators. In order to give a physical motivation for fractional order equations, the fractional relaxation is discussed in the framework of statistical mechanics. We show that fractional relaxation represents a special type of a non-Markovian process. Assuming a separation condition and the validity of the thermo-rheological principle, stating that a change of the temperature only influences the time scale but not the rheological functional form, it is shown that a fractional operator equation for the underlying relaxation process results.  相似文献

Two kinds of cyclic aryl ester dimers have been synthesized by reaction of phthaloyl dichloride with bisphenols via interfacial polycondensation. The cyclic dimers readily undergo anionic ring-opening polymerization or copolymerization in the melt by using sodium benzoate as the initiator, producing linear, high molecular weight polyesters. The contents of cyclic dimers in the homopolymers P1, P2, and copolymer P12 are 13.7%, 10.2%, 2.9%, respectively, which indicates that ring-opening copolymerization of cyclic dimers may impel the conversion of cyclic dimers and decrease the content of cyclic dimers in the resulting copolymer. Moreover, the isothermal chemorheology of the ring-opening copolymerization of cyclic dimers indicates that the reactivemoltenmixture has low shear viscosity and the viscosity increases slowly in the initial stage of ring-opening polymerization.  相似文献

In this work, high density polyethylene (HDPE) was mixed in a twin screw extruder with organophilic treated clay, Cloisite 20A, and a compatibility agent, a HDPE grafted with maleic anhydride (PEMA). The screw profile was changed from a less dispersive (Profile 1) to a high dispersive configuration (Profile 2). A masterbatch procedure was used to obtain a final organoclay concentration of 5 wt.%. Both profiles allowed the intercalation of the HDPE into the clay, increasing the clay’s gallery distance to 3.7 nm. However, the samples produced with Profile 2 (Nano 2 samples) were more elastic and had a more stable structure than the samples produced with Profile 1. Therefore, two kind of blown films of Nano 2 samples were made: FN1 and FN2. The last one was blown at a higher screw velocity than the FN1. Both films had an increase of 95% in the elastic modulus and a reduction of 60% and 45% in O2 and water vapor permeability rates, respectively, compared to the film of pure HDPE. However, the FN2 structure was more unstable than the FN1 structure. It was concluded that both screw profiles gave the same level of HDPE intercalation in the clay; however, the more dispersive profile produced more time-stable and elastic structures. The increase in the elongation rate during the film blowing process produced also more time-stable morphologies; however, this higher orientation created matrix/filler interfacial defects.  相似文献

This paper developed a novel method, the rheological phase reaction method, to synthesize nanospherical Fe3BO6. The sizes and morphologies of products vary with the calcination temperatures. Spherical particles with a uniform size about 40 nm in a monodisperse state were obtained at 800 °C, while the spherical particles with a larger size of 100-500 nm were obtained at 900 °C. The electrochemical properties of these Fe3BO6 nanospheres were investigated. Sample synthesized at 800 °C delivers a high reversible capacity above 500 mAh g−1. Sample synthesized at 900 °C possesses relatively good cycleability with a capacity retaining of 376 mAh g−1 after 10 cycles. The measurement of electrochemical impedance spectra for the first time indicated that smaller Fe3BO6 nanoparticles intend to give higher impedance of solid-electrolyte interface layer and lower charge-transfer impedance after the first discharge. Additionally, it can be speculated that the increase of resistance charge-transfer is the possible reason for the capacity fading during cycling.  相似文献
