On Linear-Time Algorithms for the Continuous Quadratic Knapsack Problem

We give a linear time algorithm for the continuous quadratic knapsack problem which is simpler than existing methods and competitive in practice. Auditory evoked responses: A tool to assess the fetal neurological activity

An intact auditory system at birth is requisite for the successful accomplishment of many developmental skills. Evoked responses to auditory stimuli have been used as a sensitive test to determine the functional status of the adult and neonatal brain. It has been established that fetuses can hear in utero and respond to external acoustic stimuli. We present an overview of the transmission of sound through the maternal abdomen to the fetal ear and the recordings of an auditory evoked response obtained from the fetus using a non-invasive magnetoencephalography technique. The investigation of cortical activity of the fetus in response to auditory stimulation can help understand and track the neurological development of the fetus.     

Monotonic solutions of a quadratic integral equation of fractional order

In the paper we indicate an error made in the proof of the main result of the paper [M.A. Darwish, On quadratic integral equation of fractional orders, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 311 (2005) 112-119]. Moreover, we provide correct proof of a slightly modified version of the mentioned result. The main tool used in our proof is the technique associated with the Hausdorff measure of noncompactness.     

具功能反应的三种群捕食者——食饵系统数学模型稳定性的研究

[1]中提出了具有功能反应的三种群捕食者——食饵系统的两种模型(Ⅰ)、(Ⅱ),并给出了局部渐近稳定的条件。本文研究了另外两种模型(Ⅲ)和(Ⅳ)的局部渐近稳定的条件。     

KNSBN晶体猫式互抽动相位共轭光特性

在KNSBN：Ce晶体中，利用二波耦合作用，在单一光束无法获得相位共轭光的条件下，实现了“猫”式互抽运相位共轭光输出，获得较高的共轭光发射率，实验结果表明，晶体的二波耦合作用可以使晶体的自抽运相位共轭光的阈值光强降低。入射光的入射角范围增大，响应时间缩短。     

A new trust region technique for the maximum weight clique problem

A new simple generalization of the Motzkin-Straus theorem for the maximum weight clique problem is formulated and directly proved. Within this framework a trust region heuristic is developed. In contrast to usual trust region methods, it regards not only the global optimum of a quadratic objective over a sphere, but also a set of other stationary points of the program. We formulate and prove a condition when a Motzkin-Straus optimum coincides with such a point. The developed method has complexity O(n³), where n is the number of vertices of the graph. It was implemented in a publicly available software package QUALEX-MS.Computational experiments indicate that the algorithm is exact on small graphs and very efficient on the DIMACS benchmark graphs and various random maximum weight clique problem instances.     

响应矩阵分析方法在BEPC储存环上的应用

由于储存环中各种元件误差的存在, 机器的实际运行模式与设计模式有一定的偏差. 目前广泛开展的响应矩阵方法研究, 可以分析出磁铁元件以及束流位置测量元件的误差, 使束流基本参数得到校正. 介绍了用响应矩阵分析方法, 在BEPC储存环上进行的局部轨道校正的实验研究, 以及BEPC储存环束流参数校正的模拟研究.     

The Role of a Specific Response of Media in the Vavilov-Cherenkov Effect

It is shown that the condition υ > υ_p (ω), which is necessary in order to trigger the Vavilov-Cherenkov effect, determines the interval of radiated frequencies and it alone cannot establish a strong restriction to the velocity of the particle. It is exhibited that it is possible to define a general lower bound for the velocity of the particle, which does not depend on the frequency when both, a specific response of the medium is taken into account and the mentioned condition is considered. The minimum value of the phase velocity of light in the medium determines the existence of such general lower bound.     

偶氮苯衍生物三阶非线性的四波混频研究

用皮秒Ｎｄ：ＹＡＧ激光器的倍频光（５３２ｎｍ）对具有离域π－共轭电子云结构的偶氮苯类样品材料作简并四波混频补给，测得三阶非线性电极化率ｘ＾（３）和它们的时间响应分别为１０＾－９ｅｓｕ和２０ｐｓ，并对影响ｘ＾（３）的瞬时光栅作用和ｘ＾（３）的响应时间人了讨论。     

Numerical analysis for the periodic response of nonsmooth dynamic systems of high-dimension

This paper deals with the numerical solution of high dimensional dynamic systems with nonsmooth characteristics, such as structural elastoplasticity, mechanical clearance and dry friction. As a stable periodic response of the system attracts its transient response, it may be extracted from the transient response somehow. The paper suggests a novel iteration scheme to extrapolate the periodic response from a short time history of its transient response by curve fitting. Compared with the current schemes such as shooting and incremental harmonic balancing, the present scheme makes full use of the information within the transient response and the system characters, then its computation efficiency has increased by an order and the numerical convergence depending on the initial iteration has greatly improved.The subject supported by the Chinese Foundation of Aeronautical Science
