The effect of boric acid on the vapour liquid equilibrium of aqueous potassium carbonate

Aqueous potassium carbonate has seen renewed interest as a viable solvent for pre and post combustion carbon capture and storage. However, slow reaction kinetics may require the addition of a rate promoter such as boric acid to improve efficiency. The vapour liquid equilibrium of 30 weight percent potassium carbonate with 0, 3 and 5 weight percent boric acid was investigated at 50 and 70 °C using a dynamic inert gas stripping method. By estimating the boric acid reactions an Electrolyte-NRTL model was able to fit this data and literature results very closely.     

One-pot approach for the synthesis of 2-aryl benzothiazoles via a two-component coupling of gem-dibromomethylarenes and o-aminothiophenols

One-pot synthesis of 2-aryl benzothiazoles from gem-dibromomethylarenes using 2-aminoarylthiols is described. Benzothiazoles were obtained in high chemical yields under mild conditions. This transformation would facilitate synthesis by short reaction times, large-scale synthesis, easy and quick isolation of the products, which are the main advantages of this procedure.     

One-pot preparation of hydroxylated potassium organotrifluoroborates and subsequent Jones oxidation to potassium organocarbonyltrifluoroborates

Alcohol-containing potassium organotrifluoroborates as starting reagents were prepared from their corresponding dibromobenzenes through a sequential one-pot reaction. The oxidation reactions of these substrates, which were carried out using 3.0 equiv of 8 N Jones reagent in acetone at 0 °C, provided a high yield of the desired carbonyl-functionalized compounds. In addition, the cross-coupling reactions of these organocarbonyltrifluoroborates were successfully performed in the presence of 3 mol % of Pd(PPh₃)₄ catalyst at 100 °C.     

Environmental monitoring using a conventional photographic digital camera for multianalyte disposable optical sensors

The primary interest of this study concerns the use of an inexpensive photographic digital camera as the detection system, using its own flash as the source of light to present a new analytical procedure to measure disposable multianalyte optical sensors for potassium, magnesium, hardness and conventional pH test strips. The camera arrangement was designed in a fixed position over an optical board with controllable ambient conditions. After acquiring the digital image, the analytical information contained in each test zone is analyzed using theRGB colour space. Reflectance measurements were developed to study the colourimetric and spectral characteristics of the test zones. We obtained the following application ranges and precision in terms of relative standard deviation (RSD %): for potassium from 3.2 × 10⁻⁷ to 0.1 M with a precision between 3.3 and 4.0%, for magnesium from 2.7 × 10⁻⁶ to 1.5 M showing a precision between 4.7 and 7.8% and finally for hardness from 4.3 × 10⁻² to 200,000 mg L⁻¹ CaCO₃ and between 5.1 and 7.0%. Moreover, the analytical characteristics of several optical procedures were compared with the results presented here. The proposed method was statistically validated against a reference procedure using samples of water from different sources and beverages, indicating that there are no significant statistical differences at a 95% confidence level.     

A mild and highly efficient one-pot three-component reaction for carbon-sulfur bond formation catalyzed by potassium tert-butoxide

Potassium tert-butoxide has been found to be a highly efficient catalyst for one-pot,three-component reaction of aryl aldehydes, acetophenones,and thiols via Claisen-Schmidt/Michael addition reactions for the synthesis of thia-Michael adducts in high yields. The reactions are best carried out in tert-butyl alcohol at room temperature.     

K~＋－SrO－La_2O_3／ZnO催化剂上甲烷氧化偶联反应Ⅱ．催化剂碱性和氧物种的表征

Ｋ＋－ＳｒＯ－Ｌａ２Ｏ３／ＺｎＯ（ＫＳＬＺ）催化体系具有很好的催化活性．在１０７３Ｋ反应温度下，其Ｃ２产率为１８．２％，且Ｃ２选择性为６８．３％．催化剂抗潮能力明显增加，在室温下经长期放置后，催化剂活性稳定．用ＸＲＤ，ＣＯ２－ＴＰＤ和ＸＰＳ表征了ＫＳＬＺ催化剂的体相组成及表面碱性、表面组成和表面活性氧物种．在此基础上讨论了Ｌａ２Ｏ３，ＳｒＯ和Ｋ＋各组分对甲烷氧化偶联反应的作用，提出了表面碳酸盐分解生成活性氧物种的可能性．     

钾分子中里德堡态的紫外辐射研究

本文报道了在K-K₂系统中,利用双光子共振激发钾原子8s、6d态,观察到了K₂在(310～365nm)里德堡态的紫外辐射.钾分子里德堡态的布居,受到了多种激发过程影响.文中对其发射和激发过程进行了详细讨论.     

Towards conformationally dependent redox-responsive molecular switches. New polyferrocene bis benzo crown ether receptors

New polyferrocene bis benzo-15-crown-5 ligands have been prepared and shown to form 1:1 intramolecular sandwich complexes with the potassium cation. Electrochemical investigations reveal that both receptors undergo small anodic perturbations of the respective ferrocene-ferrocenium redox couples in the presence of alkali metal cations.     

高长径比钛酸钾晶须的合成及其结构研究

用水热法合成一种长径比大于2500的钛酸钾晶须。经X射线粉末衍射分析表明，该晶须属于正交晶系，获得了一种新的晶须。通过考察温度、碱度、配料比、反应时间等因素对晶须形貌、产率及其结构的影响，得到制备该类晶须的最佳条件，并尝试探讨了其形成机理。     

间接原子发射光谱法测定碘解磷定

研究了等离子发射光谱法间接测定碘解磷定。在pH5．0的溶液中，当四苯硼钠过量时可完全沉淀碘解磷定，在滤液中加入过量的氯化钾沉淀剩余的四苯硼钠，再测定滤液中过量的钾，可以计算得到碘解磷定的含量。方法简单快速，回收率在96％～102％之间，相对标准偏差为1．7％。
