Electrospray ionization mass espectrometry (ESI-MS) has been used for the study of a cyclam derivative noncovalent interactions. At acidic pH, diprotonated macrocycle bound to different anionic species were observed. The selectivity shown by competitive experiments is rationalized with the help of semiempirical theoretical calculations. At basic pH, the base peak corresponded to the macrocycle-alkaline metal complexes, and again competition experiments showed different binding strength. Finally, experiments carried out in the presence of transition metal salts allowed the detection of the complexes present in the mixture and revealed their different kinetic behavior.  相似文献

Very large ring systems, containing more than 50 ring members, are becoming increasingly important in different topics in natural sciences. These so-called gigantocycles differ from smaller macrocycles in physical properties, special structural features and chemical behaviour. This article is meant to be the first summary of such ring systems and a synopsis of the most remarkable examples with their fascinating nano-scaled structures and ingenious synthesis. To restrict the scope of the article, only isolated and completely characterized, monodisperse compounds are presented. Furthermore, attention is mainly directed at organic gigantocycles. Some ultracycles with more than 100 ring members, mainly occurring in polymer chemistry and nature, will also be described.  相似文献

Nitrene transfer reactions have emerged as one of the most powerful and versatile ways to insert an amine function to various kinds of hydrocarbon substrates. However, the mechanisms of nitrene generation have not been studied in depth albeit their formation is taken for granted in most cases without definitive evidence of their occurrence. In the present work, we compare the generation of tosylimido iron species and NTs transfer from FeII and FeIII precursors where the metal is embedded in a tetracarbene macrocycle. Catalytic nitrene transfer to reference substrates (thioanisole, styrene, ethylbenzene and cyclohexane) revealed that the same active species was at play, irrespective of the ferrous versus ferric nature of the precursor. Through combination of spectroscopic (UV-visible, Mössbauer), ESI-MS and DFT studies, an FeIV tosylimido species was identified as the catalytically active species and was characterized spectroscopically and computationally. Whereas its formation from the FeII precursor was expected by a two-electron oxidative addition, its formation from an FeIII precursor was unprecedented. Thanks to a combination of spectroscopic (UV-visible, EPR, Hyscore and Mössbauer), ESI-MS and DFT studies, we found that, when starting from the FeIII precursor, an FeIII tosyliodinane adduct was formed and decomposed into an FeV tosylimido species which generated the catalytically active FeIV tosylimide through a comproportionation process with the FeIII precursor.  相似文献

Macrocyclic furans are predicted to switch between global aromaticity and antiaromaticity, depending on their oxidation states. However, the macrocyclic furans reported to date are stabilized by electron withdrawing groups, which result in inaccessible oxidation states. To circumvent this problem, a post-macrocyclization approach was applied to introduce methylene-substituted macrocyclic furans, which display an extremely low oxidation potential of −0.23 vs. Fc/Fc+, and are partially oxidized in ambient conditions. Additional oxidation to the dication results in aromaticity switching to a global 30πe aromatic state, as indicated by the formation of a strong diatropic current observed in the 1H NMR spectrum. NICS and ACID calculations support this trend and provide evidence for a different pathway for the global current in the neutral and dicationic states. According to these findings, macrocyclic furans can be rendered as promising p-type materials with stable oxidation states.  相似文献

Chiral macrocyclic dimers, trimers, and tetramers composed of paraphenylene and tethered binaphthyl were synthesized, and their molecular structures and chiroptical properties were investigated. X-ray analysis and theoretical calculations revealed that multiple twisted molecular structures – dimers, trimers, and tetramers – adopt figure-of-eight, Möbius triangle, and concave rectangle structures, respectively. These homologues have large ϵ values in their UV-vis absorption spectra because of the π-conjugation of the naphthalene-phenylene-naphthalene frameworks. Owing to the shape-persistent ring structure and tethering with −OCH2CH2O−, high fluorescence quantum yields and a relatively high dissymmetry factor gCPL in circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) spectra were achieved. This results in CPL brightness (BCPL) of over 100, which is greater than that of the conventional organic CPL dye.  相似文献
