Contaminant uranium poses unique problems for decontamination of former weapons processing and nuclear power facilities, as well as chemical plants, waste storage sites and former mining facilities. In addition, dealing with the possibility of intentional (i.e., a terrorist act) or accidental release of radioactive material in a populated area requires an accurate understanding of the nature of the association of such material with structural surfaces. These surfaces must also be considered in the context of repeated contamination, and the importance of atmospheric exposure, interaction with other possible contaminants, and corrosion or surface degradation due to such exposure must be taken into account. Complementary spectroscopic techniques, especially surface spectroscopies, are essential in developing models for the interaction of contaminants with surfaces and interfaces. In this review (which also presents new data on uranium association with corroding steel surfaces), we collect models of this association as determined by spectroscopic techniques, assess the important considerations in the development of more accurate models, and address some of the questions which remain.  相似文献

A tin(IV) porphyrin was combined with two axial NCN‐pincer platinum(II) fragments by utilizing the oxophilicity of the apical positions on the tin atom and the acidic nature of the NCN‐pincer platinum derived benzoic acid. The solid‐state structure determined by X‐ray crystallography revealed some close contacts between the pincer complexes and the mesop‐tolyl subsitutents of the porphyrin. It was shown by 1H NMR spectroscopy that these close contacts were not present in solution and that this compound can potentially act as a novel building block for supramolecular architectures.  相似文献

武定恐龙化石的显微拉曼光谱研究   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
本文首次利用激光显微拉曼光谱、原子光谱和偏光显微镜等方法 ,对云南武定的恐龙化石进行了分析研究。实验发现 ,恐龙化石表面和截面的拉曼光谱 ,均为典型的方解石 (CaCO3 )晶体的拉曼谱 ,并未发现有其他成分的拉曼谱。原子发射光谱的分析结果表明 ,恐龙化石中的主要元素有Ca(>10 % ) ,其次是Si(5 0 % )和P(4 0 % ) ,还有Fe(1 0 % )等 ,但未发现铱、钍等稀有元素。由恐龙化石截面在偏光显微镜下的图像可以知道 ,恐龙化石表面层的成分主要是方解石晶体 ;内部的主要成分为方解石 (CaCO3 )晶体 ,此外还有纤维状一水二氧化硅 (分子式SiO2 ·nH2 O ,属非晶态 )等成分。激光拉曼光谱能快速无损地准确检测出恐龙化石的主要成分是方解石 (CaCO3 ) ,拉曼光谱对恐龙化石的分析结果与原子光谱、偏光显微镜的分析结果是一致的  相似文献

The nanocrystal samples of titanium dioxide doped with europium ion (Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystal) are synthesized by the sol-gel method with hydrothermal treatment. The Eu3+ contents (molar ratio) in the samples are 0, 0.5%, 1%, 2%, 3% and 4%. The X-ray diffraction, UV-Vis spectroscopy data and scanning electron microscope image show that crystallite size is reduced by the doping of Eu3+ into TiO2. Comparing the Raman spectra of TiO2 with Eu3+/TiO2 (molar ratio Eu3+/TiO2=1%, 2% and 4%) nanocrystals at different annealing temperatures indicates that the anatase-to-rutile phase transformation temperatures of Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals are higher than that of TiO2. This is due to the formation of Eu-O-Ti bonds on the surface of the TiO2 crystallite, as characterized by the X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy. The photoluminescence spectra of TiO2 in Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals are interpreted by the surface self-trapped and defect-trapped exciton relaxation. The photoluminescence of Eu3+ in Eu3+/TiO2 nanocrystals has the strongest emission intensity at 2% of Eu3+ concentration.  相似文献

Microstructured (atomized) and nanostructured (milled) Fe60Al40 powders together with their corresponding coatings synthesized by High Velocity Oxy-fuel (HVOF) or Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) thermal spraying techniques have been characterized by Mössbauer Spectroscopy (MS) and X-ray Diffraction (XRD). The evolution of the microstructure and the atomic ordering degree in the powders and coatings are discussed at the light of the various processing conditions. The operational correlation between the parameters of the duplex morphology of coatings and the processing parameters is discussed.  相似文献

There are many advantages in being able to perform positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) using a variable energy positron beam, the most obvious being the easy identification of different defect types at different depths. The difficulty in conducting variable energy (VE) PALS studies lies in the fact that a “start” signal is required to signal the entry of the positron into the target. Two methods have been used to overcome this problem, namely the bunching technique, which employs radio frequency (RF) cavities and choppers, and secondly the use of secondary electrons emitted from the target. The latter technique is in terms of experimental complexity much simpler, but has in the past suffered from poor time resolution (typically ∼500 ps). In this work, we present a series of computer simulations of a design based on the secondary electron emission from thin C-foils in transmission mode which shows that significant improvements in time resolution can be made with resolutions ∼200 ps being in principle possible.  相似文献
