The spectral (both absorption and fluorescence) and photoelectrochemical studies of a few selective dyes, namely, anionic erythrosin B, neutral riboflavin and cationic safranin O have been carried out in aqueous solution of triton X-100, a neutral surfactant. The results show that the ionic dyes, erythrosin B and safranin O form 1:1 electron donor-acceptor (EDA) or charge-transfer (CT) complexes with triton X-100 both in the ground and excited states, whereas neutral dye riboflavin in its excited state forms 1:1 complex with triton X-100. In these complexes, the dyes act as electron acceptors whereas triton X-100 acts as an electron donor. The fluorescence spectra of erythrosin B and safranin O in presence of triton X-100 show enhancement of fluorescence intensity with red and blue shifts respectively while riboflavin shows normal quenching of fluorescence. A good correlation has been found among photovoltage generation of the systems consisting of these dyes and triton X-100, spectral shift due to complex formation and thermodynamic properties of these complexes. 相似文献

Colloidal silica and titanium dioxide were surface-modified by chemisorption of octadecyl dimethylmethoxy silane. The surface density of these alkyl silane groups was adjusted to less than 7% of the available surface hydroxyls, leaving the adsorbents hydrophilic and electrically charged in aqueous solution.Ionic surfactants (tetradecylpyridinium chloride and sodium lauryl sulfate) are adsorbed onto the surface-modified silica and titanium dioxide from aqueous solution, even in the case where the surface of the adsorbents exhibits the same sign of electrical charge as the surfactant ionic head groups. According to the adsorption model of Gu the chemiadsorbed alkyl chains are supposed to serve as anchors for small surface aggregates of the ionic surfactants. 相似文献

Dissociation equilibria of 4‐(2‐pyridylazo) resorcinol (PAR) in aqueous micellar solutions were determined spectrophotometrically at 25 °C and at the constant ionic strength I = 0.1 M KNO3. For this purpose, the effect of nonionic (Brij‐35, Triton X‐100, Triton X‐114, Triton X‐405), and anionic (SDS) surfactants on the absorption spectra of PAR at different pH values was studied. Results show that the pKa values and pure spectra of each species of PAR are influenced by percentages of a neutral and an anionic surfactant such as Brij‐35, Triton X‐100, Triton X‐114, Triton X‐405 and SDS, respectively, added to the solution of this reagent. 相似文献

A very simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of dodecyl benzene sulfonate (DBS) has been investigated. In this method, the ion pair of DBS and methylene blue was adsorbed onto plasticized poly(vinylchloride) membrane as a solid phase extraction medium. The absorbance of the blue membrane was measured at 660nm against a blank membrane using a spectrophotometer. The influence of type and amount of plasticizer, pH, concentration of methylene blue, temperature of sample solution and time of extraction on the absorbance of membrane was studied. Linear calibration was obtained over a concentration range of 0.1 to 6.5µgmL–1 of DBS. The method was applied to the determination of DBS in different commercial detergents. The precision and accuracy of the method is comparable with the conventional standard method. This method is cost-effective, and the use of organic solvent such as chloroform is completely eliminated. 相似文献

The determination of glucose in microfluidic chips made of glass or PMMA was used as a model for the combination of an enzymatic reaction with the separation of compounds. It was based on the enzymatic oxidation of glucose and the amperometric detection of hydrogen peroxide. Real samples frequently contain compounds, such as ascorbic acid, which may interfere with quantitative glucose determinations. Thus, electrophoretic separation of specific from unspecific signals was envisaged by applying electric fields which are also used to control the flow of liquid via electroosmotic effects. Surface charge densities of the capillaries influence the electroosmotic flow (EOF). They are dependent on the chip material and on the adsorption of components from the background electrolyte. Reversal of the EOF after addition of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) and an increase in EOF after addition of sodium dodecylsulfate (SDS) were observed at lower surfactant concentrations with the PMMA chips rather than with the glass chips. For both chip materials these concentrations were below the critical micelle concentration. Effective separation of H2O2 and ascorbic acid was achieved with low CTAB concentrations, which lead to a reduction, but not to a reversal of the EOF. Reversal of the EOF by higher CTAB concentrations or the increase in cathodic EOF by SDS accelerated ascorbic acid transportation and reduced the differences in migration times. Thus, for the specific determination of glucose, glucose oxidase was added together with low CTAB concentrations to the background electrolyte. This avoided interference from ascorbic acid, and data obtained from the analysis of fruit juices showed a good correlation to data obtained from a reference method. 相似文献

A novel kinetic method for the determination of trace amounts of Co(II) has been developed. The proposed method based on the catalytic effect of Co(II) on the oxidation of xylenol orange tetra sodium salt by H2O2 in the presence of cationic surfactant (N‐dodecylpyridinium chloride). Co(II) at μg.mL?1 was determined spectrophotometrically by measuring the decrease in the absorbance of xylenol orange at 577 nm by the differential method. The method is precise, selective, and sensitive. The detection limit of the procedure was 0.058 μg.mL?1. The relative standard deviation for the replicate determination (n = 6) of 0.7 μg.mL?1 was 1.285%. The results compared satisfactorily with those of atomic absorption spectrometry. The method was successful for the analysis of Co(II) in veterinary and synthetic samples. 相似文献

Chromatographic behaviour of six selected herbicides (chlortoluron, metoxuron, chloridazon, simazine, propazine and atrazine) was studied by reversed-phase (RP) high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) containing Genapol X-080 non-ionic surfactant as methanol/water mobile phase constituent. The concentration of methanol was changed from 50 to 0% (v/v) for constant 2% (v/v) concentration of the surfactant. The surfactant concentration in purely aqueous micellar mobile phase varied from 1 to 5% (v/v) what is approximately 360-1800 times above the CMC. Within this concentration range Genapol X-080 proves concentration dependent selectivity changes for chlortoluron/atrazine critical pair not occurred in hydro-methanolic mobile phases. Further studies revealed that this chromatographic system offers high compatibility with cloud-point extraction environmental sample pretreatment approaches using Genapol X-080 for the purpose, too. 相似文献
