The complex Young's modulus, E*(ω), and the complex strain-optical coefficient, O*(ω), which is the ratio of the birefringence to the strain, were measured for polyisoprene (PIP) over a frequency range of 1 ~ 130 Hz and a temperature range of 22 ~ ?100°C. The imaginary part of O*, O″, was positive at low frequencies and negative at high frequencies. The real part, O′, was always positive and showed a maximum. The complicated behavior of O* could be understood by the assumption that E* = ER* + EG* and O* = CRER* + CGEG*, where ER* and EG* were complex quantities and CR and CG were constants. The CR value, equal to the ordinary stress-optical coefficient measured in the rubbery plateau zone, was 2.0 × 10?9 Pa?1. The CG value, defined as the ratio O″/E″ in the glassy zone, was ?1.1 × 10?11 Pa?1. The EG*, which was the major component of E* in the glassy zone, showed almost the same frequency dependence as that of polystyrene and polycarbonate. The ER*, which was dominant in the rubbery zone, was described well by the bead-spring theory. The temperature dependence of the EG* was stronger than that of the ER*. This difference caused the breakdown of the thermorheological simplicity for E* and O* around the glass-to-rubber transition zone. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. 相似文献

Studies of metal cyanide thin films prepared directly at interfaces are reviewed. The systems range from monolayers, single-layer analogs of Prussian blue-like networks, to bulk powders prepared as thin films. Monolayer networks are prepared at the air/water interface and transferred to solid supports using Langmuir-Blodgett film methods. Films of bulk materials are prepared directly on solid surfaces using a templated sequential deposition procedure. The magnetic properties of the films have been explored, and in some cases, these monolayers and surface films give rise to new behavior that is only possible because of the fabrication method or thin film architecture. The methods of synthesis can generate oriented samples, even when the materials are poorly crystalline. Furthermore, the interface-assembled networks are inherently anisotropic, leading to phenomena not present in the solid-state analogs, such as anisotropic photomagnetism in a thin film of RbjCok[Fe(CN)6]l·nH2O. 相似文献

The design and synthesis of a porphyrin-appended terpyridine, 5-(4-([2,2′:6′,2″]-terpyridin-4-yl-carboxyamidyl)phenyl)-10,15,20-triphenylporphyrin (H2TPPTPy) and its application as potential fluoroionophore for recognition of metal ions are reported. For preparation of the fluoroionophore, a novel simple strategy with improved total yield has been applied for the synthesis of 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine-4′-carboxylic acid as a ligand. H2TPPTPy shows chelation-enhanced fluorescence effect with cadmium ion via the interruption of photoinduced electron transfer (PET) process, which has been utilized as the basis of the fabrication of the Cd(II)-sensitive fluorescent chemosensor. The analytical performance characteristics of the proposed Cd(II)-sensitive chemosensor were investigated. It shows a linear response toward Cd(II) in the concentration range of 3.2 × 10−6 to 3.2 × 10−4 M with a limit of detection of 1.2 × 10−6 M. The chemosensor shows good selectivity for Cd(II) over a large number of cations, such as alkali, alkali earth and transitional metal ions except Cu(II) and Zn(II). The d. c. component of birefringence of aqueous carboxymethylcellulose (CMC) under an a. c. electric field was measured at frequencies ranging from 0.1 Hz to 100 kHz. Three samples of different molecular weights were studied with varying degree of neutralization, polymer concentration and added salt concentration. The dispersion curve of birefringence consists of three relaxation bands,A, B andC in order of decreasing frequency. RelaxationB with a negative relaxation strength is ascribed to end-over-end rotation of almost rodlike CMC molecules. RelaxationA with a positive strength is attributed to the relaxation of electrical polarizability along the minor axis of molecule. Four series of fully aromatic thermotropic liquid crystalline polycarbonates were prepared by melt polycondensation from various novel phenylene diphenyl dicarbonates with monomers, such as hydroquinone, methylhydroquinone, chlorohydroquinone, resorcinol, bisphenol A, 4,4′-dihydroxydiphenylsulfone, or phenylhydroquinone, respectively. The thermotropic liquid crystalline properties were studied by polarizing microscope with a heating stage, differential scanning calorimeter (DSC), and wide-angle x-ray diffraction (WAXD). It was found that the nonlinearity of the carbonate group was compensated by resorcinol (1,3-phenylene unit), a bent shape unit.
