A square wave adsorptive stripping voltammetric (SWAdSV) method for the indirect determination of trace amounts of magnesium with thiopentone sodium (TPS) as an electroactive ligand, at carbon paste mercury film electrode (CP-MFE) is proposed. It is observed that the increase of the square wave voltammetric cathodic peak current of TPS, under alkaline conditions, is linear with the increase of Mg concentration. Under optimum experimental conditions viz.; pH 10.75, 3×10−5 M TPS and 0.05 M phosphate buffer (Na2HPO4-NaH2PO4), a linear relation in the range 6×10−9 to 9×10−8 M Mg2+ (0.14-2.16 ppb), at 60 s deposition time, is obtained. The detection limit of Mg2+ is 0.14 ppb for 60 s deposition time with the relative standard deviation is 0.5% (n=5). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of magnesium in urine and tap water samples with satisfactory results. The data obtained are compared with the standard flame atomic absorption spectrophotometric method (FAAS).  相似文献

The routine determination of mercury (Hg) by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) is affected by a pronounced memory effect in the sample introduction system. This results in long washout times for the analyte, which affects the accuracy and reliability of the analytical procedure. By using a combination of flow injection sample introduction and a sulfur-containing compound in the carrier solution, it was possible to decrease the memory effect of mercury to that for the internal standard (rhodium). The carrier solution contained 2-mercaptoethanol (2-ME) and the developed method was evaluated using three different fish tissue certified reference materials: CRM 464 (BCR, Brussels); DORM-1; and DORM-2 (NRC, Canada). The samples were mineralized using a combination of concentrated nitric acid and hydrogen peroxide and heating in a closed microwave oven. The developed flow injection ICP-MS procedure gave values for total mercury in all three CRM materials in agreement with the certified concentration range. Cold vapour atomic fluorescence spectrometry (CV-AFS) confirmed the results from the developed method. The developed flow injection method had a detection limit (defined as three times the standard deviation of the blank concentration) for mercury of 5.1 μg l−1.  相似文献

CaCO3/PEEK (poly-ether ether ketone) composites were prepared on a twin-screw extruder with different mass ratio of CaCO3/PEEK from 0% to 30%. Four types of particles were used as filler in PEEK matrix. The influence of surface treatment with sulfonated PEEK (SPEEK) of the particles on the mechanical and thermal properties of the composites was studied. The experiments included tensile tests, flexural tests, notched Izod impact tests, TGA, DSC and SEM. The modulus and yield stress of the composites increased with CaCO3 particles loadings. This increase was attributed to the bonding between the particles and the PEEK matrix, as can be proved by the SEM pictures of tensile fracture surface of the composites. The impact strength of the composites was modified by the SPEEK coated on the CaCO3 particle surface. DSC experiments showed that the particle content and surface properties influenced the glass transition temperature (Tg) and melting temperature (Tm) of the composites. The Tg increased with the content of fillers while Tm decreased. In this study the fillers treated were found to give better combination properties, which indicated that SPEEK played a constructive role in the CaCO3/PEEK composites.  相似文献

An amperometric detector with a small thin mercury film electrode is described. The device demonstrates advantageous operational characteristics such as small dispersion (D<2) and “memory effect” (me<0.6%), extensive maximum sample frequency (msf −200 samples/h), and high sensitivity. It has been proven useful in flow-injection analysis at a constant potential under hydrodynamic conditions.  相似文献

The results of structural studies of the synthetic analog of the radtkeite mineral Hg3S2Cl1.00I1.00 are analyzed. The crystal structure of the compound has been refined; the unit cell parameters are a m = 16.827(4) , b m = 9.117(1) , c m = 13.165(5) , = 130.17(2)°, V = 1543.3(8) 3, space group C2/m, Z = 8, R = 0.0527. A possible transition a 0 = a m; b 0 = a m + 2c m; c 0 = –b m to the pseudo-orthorhombic F cell previously determined for radtkeite, where one of the angles ( 0 ) is slightly different from 90° (89.55°), has been found. Each sulfur atom in the structure is bonded to three mercury atoms, forming SHg3 umbrellas with distances 2.240(6) –2.474(8) and angles HgSHg 94.7(2)°–102.9(2)°. The SHg3 fragments are linked through Hg vertices to form corrugated [Hg12S8] layers. The halogen atoms lie inside and between the [Hg12S8] layers; the distances are Hg-Cl and Hg-I 2.783(7) , 2.961(7) , and 3.083(4) –3.311(3) , respectively.Original Russian Text Copyright © 2004 by N. A new carbon‐based mercury thin‐film electrode consisting of screen‐printed carbon on a low temperature co‐fired ceramic substrate was made. Ex‐situ mercury deposition in a potassium thiocyanate solution was used. This approach an electrode with high long‐term stability (>500 measurement cycles) and reproducibility (≤2 %) for sensitive determination of ultra trace heavy metals, using differential pulse anodic stripping voltammetry. The detection limits were 0.25, 0.08 and 5.5 ng mL?1 for Cd(II), Pb(II), and Zn(II), respectively. The method was applied to the determination of the analytes in water, wastewater, lake water, and certified reference material samples with satisfactory results.  相似文献

This paper describes a preconcentration method for Hg2+ and MeHg+ in water samples using sodium diethyldithiocarbamate immobilized in polyurethane foam (PU-NaDDC) and an extraction method for several mercury species in sediment samples, including MeHg+, EtHg+ and PhHg+, which is simple, rapid, and uses a single organic solvent. Separation and measurement were done by high-performance liquid chromatography on-line with inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (HPLC/ICP-MS). Initially, the test of recovery was applied using procedures compatible with HPLC. Under the optimum extraction conditions, recoveries of 96.7, 96.3 and 97.3% were obtained for MeHg+, EtHg+, and PhHg+, respectively, from n = 4 spiked sediment samples. This study also demonstrates that the combination of solid-phase extraction on PU-NaDDC with HPLC separation and ICP-MS detection is an effective preconcentration procedure for simultaneous measurement of Hg2+ and MeHg+ at ultra-trace levels in water samples. The application of the proposed procedure to the determination of mercury species in drinking water sample was investigated. The proposed method clearly gave satisfactory average recoveries between 93.7 and 101.5%.  相似文献

Metal ion-imprinted polymer particles have been prepared by copolymerization of methacrylic acid as monomer, trimethylolpropane trimethacrylate as cross-linking agent and 2,2′-azobisisobutyronitrile as initiator, in the presence of Hg(II)-1-(2-thiazolylazo)-2-naphthol complex. The separation and preconcentration characteristics of the Hg-ion-imprinted microbeads for inorganic mercury have been investigated by batch procedure. The optimal pH value for the quantitative sorption is 7. The adsorbed inorganic mercury is easily eluted by 2 mL 4 M HNO3. The adsorption capacity of the newly synthesized Hg ion-imprinted microbeads is 32.0 μmol g−1 for dry copolymer. The selectivity of the copolymer toward inorganic mercury (Hg(II)) ion is confirmed through the comparison of the competitive adsorptions of Cd(II), Co(II), Cu(II), Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II)) and high values of the selectivity and distribution coefficients have been calculated. Experiments performed for selective determination of inorganic mercury in mineral and sea waters showed that the interfering matrix does not influence the extraction efficiency of Hg ion-imprinted microbeads. The detection limit for inorganic mercury is 0.006 μg L−1 (3σ), determined by cold vapor atomic adsorption spectrometry. The relative standard deviation varied in the range 5-9 % at 0.02-1 μg L−1 Hg levels. The new Hg-ion-imprinted microbeads have been tested and applied for the speciation of Hg in river and mineral waters: inorganic mercury has been determined selectively in nondigested sample, while total mercury e.g. sum of inorganic and methylmercury, has been determined in digested sample.  相似文献

An ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography/time-of-flight mass spectrometry (with negative ion electrospray ionization) methodology was developed for the simultaneous quantification of benzoic acid and 15 long-chain monocarboxylic acids (MCAs) in ambient aerosols. A fast and quantitative pressurized fluid extraction procedure was optimized using experimental design and the extracts were analyzed without any further clean-up step. Chromatographic separation was achieved on a BEH-C18 column with a mobile phase consisting of 5 mM formic acid in water/acetonitrile (90:10, v/v) and methanol. Excellent precision and accuracies in the MS mass measurements were observed. The method was validated using actual samples spiked with a solution containing either standards or 13C-surrogates. Matrix effects were observed for the C14 MCA only. It was then applied to air particulate reference materials and atmospheric samples collected by a low-volume sampler.  相似文献
