A novel reactive phosphorus-containing monomer [1-oxo-2,6,7-trioxa-1- phosphabicyclo-[2.2.2]octane-methyl diallyl phosphate, PDAP] was synthesized, and various amounts of PDAP were combined with unsaturated polyester by radical bulk polymerization. The resulting flame-retardant unsaturated polyester resin (FR-UPR) samples were investigated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), microscale combustion calorimetry (MCC), and limiting oxygen index (LOI) tests. Due to the relatively high phosphorus content of PDAP (18.2 wt%), incorporation of this monomer into unsaturated polyester resin (UPR) led to a marked decrease in the heat release capacity (HRC), the total heat release (THR), an increase in the LOI and the char yield upon combustion. In order to elaborate the interactions between the UPR and PDAP in degradation, differences between the experimental and theoretical mass losses of a FR-UPR sample were evaluated. Furthermore, thermogravimetry-Fourier transform infrared (TG-FTIR) and real-time Fourier transform infrared (RTIR) spectroscopy were employed to investigate the degradation behavior of UPRs, providing insight into the degradation mechanism.  相似文献

Ni0.04Zn0.96O and Fe0.03Zn0.97O with average diameter of 23 and 19 nm, respectively, have been synthesized by a modified sol–gel method to be used in the preparation of (100 − x)/x poly(vinyl alcohol)/oxide nanocomposite films, with x = 0, 1, 3 and 5 (in wt.%). A 125 W-Hg vapor lamp with emission above 254 nmwas used to irradiate PVA/Ni0.04Zn0.96O and PVA/Fe0.03Zn0.97O films. The effect on their structural, thermal, morphological and optical properties was studied by TG, DSC, DRX, AFM, UV–vis and PL spectrophotometry. The Ni0.04Zn0.96O addition on PVA films decreases the thermal stability of the polymer in inert and in oxidative atmosphere. In contrast, the Fe0.03Zn0.97O presence in the PVA films seems to increase the thermal stability of the polymer. The characteristic peak of the crystalline phase of PVA and wurtzite phase of the zinc oxide were identified through X-ray diffraction in both films. The crystallinity of the PVA film increases with UV irradiation and with the presence of Ni0.04Zn0.96O and Fe0.03Zn0.97O. The roughness of the PVA film was not modified by the addition of the doped oxides; however, it increases after UV irradiation, more significantly in the films containing the oxides. The PVA film exhibits absorption around 280 nm characteristic of π–π transitions related to carbonyl groups from residuals acetate, while the 95/05 PVA/Ni0.04Zn0.96O and 95/05 PVA/Fe0.03Zn0.97O nanocomposite films show absorption at the visible region which is characteristics of the band gap reduction of the doped oxides. The photoluminescence of PVA was modified by the presence of the oxides in the film. These nanocomposite films are interesting due to their thermal, mechanical (flexible) properties and low cost of production. In addition they are also able to exhibit peculiar optical properties showing potential to be used in photonic devices, gas sensors and organic solar cell applications.  相似文献

The effect of on-line ultrasound application by a special static mixer die which promotes extensional flow simultaneously during the single screw extrusion process was thoroughly studied. The proportion of aluminum trihydroxide (ATH) used as flame retardant on high density polyethylene (HDPE) was optimized. The morphological, thermal, flammability, combustion, mechanical and rheological properties of the materials were investigated. The morphological study pointed out that this process is able to strongly reduce the size of ATH particles and improve their dispersion and distribution within the polymer matrix. The addition of zinc borate (ZB) at low concentration (namely 3 phr) showed its well-known synergistic effect in the thermal, oxygen index and fire combustion behavior. According to the UL94 standard, the rating for all materials tested changed from HB to V2, with respect to materials prepared without ultrasound; furthermore a rating V0 was achieved only with the addition of 2 phr organo-clay. Rheological results under simple and small amplitude oscillatory shear flow confirmed the enhanced particle dispersion and finer particle morphology evidenced by larger values of the moduli and by deviations from the semicircular shape observed in the Cole–Cole diagram. Mechanical properties such as Izod impact resistance, tensile strength, strain at break and tenacity were also improved by the on-line ultrasound process. In this work, the appropriate on-line ultrasound extrusion conditions to use the lowest ATH content (30 phr or 21.5 in wt%) were found, rendering HDPE optimized flame retardant materials with improved processability and mechanical properties.  相似文献

Zinc oxide thin films were deposited, by radio frequency magnetron sputtering, on heated and unheated substrates. The oxygen flow rate was varied during deposition, and its effects on the structural and chemical properties of the films were investigated. The films had oriented c‐axis growth with nano‐crystallite size. Their surfaces manifested columnar microstructure, with a surface roughness that was suppressed by the introduction of oxygen. Chemical analysis showed that deposition under an oxygen atmosphere resulted in substantial reduction of oxygen vacancies, with a corresponding incorporation of chemisorbed species. Tin‐based oxide Li2SnO3 has been synthesized by a hydrothermal route as negative material for lithium‐ion batteries. The microstructure and electrochemical properties of the as‐synthesized materials were investigated by some characterizations means and electrochemical measurements. The as‐synthesized Li2SnO3 is a porous rod, which is composed of many uniform and regular nano‐flakes with a size of 50–60 nm. Li2SnO3 also displays an electrochemical performance with high capacity and good cycling stability (510.2 mAh g?1 after 50 cycles at a current density of 60 mA g?1 between 0.0 V and 2.0 V verusus Li/Li+). 50/50 NR/NBR blends with various MWCNT loadings were prepared by mixing with MWCNT/NR masterbatches on a two-roll mill and sheeted off at the smallest nip gap. Then, the effect of milling direction, machine direction (MD) and transverse direction (TD), on the mechanical and electrical properties of the blends was elucidated. Dichroic ratio and SEM results confirmed that most of the MWCNTs were aligned along MD when MWCNT was less than 4 phr, and the number of agglomerates increased when MWCNT was more than 4 phr. Additionally, anisotropic properties were clearly observed when 4 phr MWCNT was loaded. At 4 phr MWCNT, 100% modulus and tensile strength in the MD were about 1.5 and 1.3 times higher than those in the TD, respectively. Moreover, electrical conductivity in the MD was superior to that in the TD by about 3 orders of magnitude. Results from dynamic mechanical tests also showed that the maximum tan δ in the MD sample was lower than that in the corresponding TD sample. In addition, the storage modulus at 30 °C for the MD sample containing 4 phr MWCNT was 1.15 higher than that of the corresponding TD sample. This stronger reinforcement efficiency resulted from the combination of the greater alignment and dispersion of most MWCNTs in the MD sample.  相似文献

A new testing apparatus is proposed to measure the thermal properties of fabrics made from polymeric materials. The calibration of the apparatus and the data acquisition procedure are considered in detail in order to measure thermal conductivity, resistance, absorption and diffusivity constants of the tested fabric samples. Differences between dry and wet fabrics have been carefully detected and analyzed. We have developed a new measurement protocol, the ThermoTex protocol, which agrees with the UNI EN 31092 standard and entails accurate quantification of the experimental errors according to a standard statistical analysis, thus allowing a rigorous investigation of the physical behavior of the phenomena involved. As a consequence, our equipment exhibits great potential for optimizing the thermal comfort of fabrics, according to the market demand, thanks to the possible development of a predictive phenomenological theory of the effects involved.  相似文献

This work studied the possibility of utilizing nitrile rubber (NBR) to modify the impact properties of poly (ethylene-naphthalate) (PEN). The PEN/NBR ratio used changed from 100/0 to 60/40. At the same time, glass fibers (GF), 40% weight of the PEN component, were used to reinforce the blends to compensate for the loss of mechanical properties of PEN by incorporation of NBR. The results showed that the impact strength of the PEN/GF/NBR blend (PEN/NBR = 60/40) was increased up to 27.6J/m, nearly 5 times higher than that of the neat PEN. Meanwhile, the tensile strength and flexural strength were still maintained at as high as 66.1 MPa and 98.2 MPa, respectively. Dynamic vulcanization further improved the mechanical properties of the PEN/GF/NBR blends, which provided routes to the design of new PEN/elastomer blends. Other properties of the PEN/GF/NBR blends were also investigated in terms of morphology of fractured surface, dynamic mechanical behavior, thermal stability and crystallization, by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), respectively.  相似文献

The aqueous polyurethane hybrid dispersion modified by the epoxy resin were synthesized using 1,4-butanediol ( BDO ) and dimethylolpropionic(DMPA) as chain extenders. A kind of automobile interior decoration adhesive was made by the modified hybrid dispersions. Effects of the content and the kinds of epoxide resin on the properties of dispersions and dispersion-cast films such as appearance, pot life, viscosity, particle size, molecular mass, hardness, swelling in water, contact angle, strength of stress, elongation at break, and other mechanical properties were studied. At the same time the effect of the E20 content on the peel strength of the adhesive for several automobile interior decoration substrates such as rubber/wood, poly(vinyl chloride)/wood; leather/wood, sponge/wood was investigated. The experimental results show that when the epoxy resin E20 content was 8%, the modified polyurethane hybrid dispersions possess better properties and the adhesive made by the modified dispersions posses better adhesion for automobile interior decoration substrates. The stress-strain curve of the modified aqueous polyurethane hybrid dispersions films shows the modified aqueous cast films possess better rigidity and toughness.  相似文献

Six oil soluble nonionic surfactants with different HLBs have been prepared. Their HLBs situate between 3.9 and 6.7. Transesterification was carried out for glycerol and triethanol amine with oleic acid at different moles to obtain six emusilifiers. They named glycerol momooleate (I), glycerol diooleate (II), glycerol trioleate (III), triethanol amine mono-, di- and tri-oleate (IV), (V,) and (VI). The chemical structure was confirmed using; the elemental analysis, FTIR and 1HNMR. They were evaluated as a primary emulsifiers (PE) for thdrilling fluids (oil base mud) comparing with a currently used primary emulsifier (Fc). The water in oil base mud (w/o emulsions) was prepared. The concentration of emulsifiers and their HLB exhibited interesting rheology properties including shear-thinning behavior, yield value, viscoelastic effects, thixtropy, gel strength, and filtration loss. The rheology properties of such emulsions strongly depended on the average size distribution of the dispersed droplets that could be varied both with the bulk concentration and HLB value of the emulsifiers. The interfacial and surface properties of these emulsifiers suggest that the droplet size of the dispersed phase and bulk concentration are strongly related to the HLB value of emulsifiers. The w/o emulsion (mud formulation) stability is sensitive to the droplet size of the dispersed phase and HLB value of the used emulsifier. The results were discussed on the light the chemical structure of the primary emulsifiers and the emulsion ingredients.  相似文献
