Investigation of multiwavelength clock recovery based on heterodyne beats of sideband-filtered signal

We investigate a new parallel all-optical clock recovery scheme based on heterodyne beats of an optical sideband-filtered signal. The oscillating clock signal is recovered when the filtered sideband is combined with a stable local oscillator. The filtering is performed with an optical resonator, which by nature provides possibility for multiwavelength operation. The local oscillator could be realized by a multiwavelength laser, whose emission wavelengths are injection seeded with carrier wavelengths of the input data. The output signal of such a configuration benefits from a reduced bit-pattern effect and a stable offset level. The sideband filtering is demonstrated for 23 simultaneous channels at 100 GHz DWDM grid, each hosting a data stream of 10 Gbit/s.     

Photo-induced evolution of copper sheets from cluster molecules and its application to photolithographic copper patterning

UV photoexcitation of (t-butylethynyl copper)₂₄ cluster films induces segregation of the crystals into metallic and organic phases and leads to evolve the metallic sheets sandwiched by organic polymers. The growth of the metallic crystals in the plane of the photo-electromagnetic field is attributed due to plasmon-plasmon interaction among nanoparticles embedded in dielectric polymer matrices. The surface enhanced photochemical reaction of residual cluster molecules on the photon incident direction is expected to take an important role for joining the metal particles to produce a metallic sheet. We can apply this phenomenon for photolithographic copper pattern generation on a flexible base plate.

Linear calibration procedure for the phase-to-height relationship in phase measurement profilometry

Calibration of the relationship between height and phase is of uttermost importance to perform accurate 3D measurements in phase measurement profilometry. This work reports a different approach to this problem by first looking at the analytical expression for this relationship and determining the regime spanned by the fringe analysis method. The conclusions thus ascertained, amply justify confronting the analytical expression with a simple normalization procedure of the experimental data, with a remarkable matching between both results. In light of this, a linear calibration procedure with just one plane is proposed and verified experimentally.     

Auditory evoked responses: A tool to assess the fetal neurological activity

An intact auditory system at birth is requisite for the successful accomplishment of many developmental skills. Evoked responses to auditory stimuli have been used as a sensitive test to determine the functional status of the adult and neonatal brain. It has been established that fetuses can hear in utero and respond to external acoustic stimuli. We present an overview of the transmission of sound through the maternal abdomen to the fetal ear and the recordings of an auditory evoked response obtained from the fetus using a non-invasive magnetoencephalography technique. The investigation of cortical activity of the fetus in response to auditory stimulation can help understand and track the neurological development of the fetus.     

The hydrogen molecule in an arbitrarily oriented magnetic field

Summary The modifications induced by a magnetic field of arbitrary direction and intermediate strength (i.e not larger than 2.35·10⁵ tesla, the ?atomic tesla?) on the lowest singlet and triplet energy states of the hydrogen molecule are studied. Using a linear combination of products of field-modified atomic orbitals, it is found that increasing the field strength the depth of the singlet energy well increases and the equilibrium internuclear distance decreases, yielding more rigid and localized nuclear vibrations. For sufficiently strong fields perpendicular to the internuclear axis, the triplet state exhibits a bonding behaviour. An explanation of the above results is given in terms of the field-modified electronic-charge distributions in the internuclear region. Based on the thesis submitted by S. 500.8 nmNd∶YAG青光激光器光学薄膜的设计与制备

从双波长激光运转及和频的机理出发，对LD泵浦Nd∶YAG，LBO腔内和频500.8 nm〖JP2〗青光激光器所使用的光学薄膜进行了设计和制备.在激光反射镜的设计上，为了达到最佳的和频输出，对膜系要求进行了深入分析.采用对谐振腔一端面反射率固定不变并通过对另一腔镜基频光的透射率进行调谐的方法, 在给出合理初始结构后，利用计算机对膜厚进行了优化.并采用双离子束溅射沉积的方法，通过时间监控膜厚法成功制备出青光激光器所使用的全介质激光反射膜, 在室温下实现946 nm和1064 nm双波长连续运转，并通过Ⅰ类临界相位匹配LBO晶体腔内和频在国内首次实现500.8 nm青色激光连续输出.当泵浦注入功率为1.4 W时和频青光最大输出达20 mW.     

Study of the structural and optical properties of GaN/AlN quantum dot superlattices

We study GaN/AlN Quantum Dot (QD) superlattices utilizing the STREL environment which allows the building of atomistic models, relaxation of the structures, the calculation of the electronic states and optical transitions and the visualization of the results. The forces are calculated using an appropriate Keating or Stillinger–Weber interatomic potential model and the electronic states and optical transitions using a tight-binding formulation which is economical and produces realistic electronic properties. The relaxed structure has strains mainly in the GaN region which are compressive and small tensile strains in the AlN region, mainly below the QD. In the calculation of the electronic states and of the optical transitions the strains are included realistically at the atomistic level. The study of the wavefunctions close to the fundamental gap show how these strains influence the form and spatial extent of the wavefunction. Very close to the fundamental gap the valence and some conduction states are confined in the QD and have considerable oscillator strength.     

含有五边形—七边形缺陷的单壁纳米碳管的输运性质研究

运用第一性原理的密度泛函理论结合非平衡格林函数研究了含有五边形—七边形拓扑缺陷的纳米碳管异质结的输运性质.结果发现：拓扑缺陷对碳管的输运性质有很大影响；另外，不同类型的碳管形成的异质结的输运性质也有明显的差异. 关键词： 纳米碳管 输运性质 异质结 透射系数     

塑料闪烁体的辐照特性

利用⁶⁰Co放射源分别对3种塑料闪烁体(BC-408, EJ-200, BC-404)进行辐照损伤研究, 比较辐照前后的透射谱、发射谱及光产额的变化, 发现3种闪烁体在低剂量具有较好的抗辐照性能; 当照射剂量超过1.44×10⁴Gy时,透射谱明显变坏, 光输出减少很严重, 但发射谱却保持不变.
