Three-component,one-pot synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1<Emphasis Type="Italic">H</Emphasis>)-ones catalyzed by bromodimethylsulfonium bromide

An efficient synthesis of 3,4-dihydropyrimidin-2-(1H)-one derivatives by one-pot three-component condensation reaction between an alkyl or aryl aldehyde, a 1,3-dicarbonyl compound, and urea or thiourea in the presence of catalytic amount of bromodimethylsulfonium bromide has been developed. The condensation product was obtained in excellent yields in refluxing ethanol and easily separated from the reaction mixture and purified.     

Electrokinetic and contact angle measurements of grafted carbon fibers

 The grafting method that has successfully been applied to methacrylic acid and liquid crystalline monomers was expanded to prepare amphoteric carbon fiber surfaces using 2-(N,N-dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate as monomer. The obtained carbon fiber surfaces were characterized by contact angle and ζ-potential measurements. The expected basic behavior was not observed, instead an amphoteric character of the modified carbon fiber surface was found. The fiber surfaces display a basic character in the acidic pH-range, while they are acidic in the alkaline part of the pH-scale. An important influence is derived from the amount of initiator used to graft the monomers onto the fibers. The smaller the initiator concen-tration used during polymerization, the larger the amount of amino functionalities introduced to the carbon fiber surface. The wetting behavior versus water depends on the overall conformation of the immobilized polymer. During immersion into water the polymer acts hydrophobic, while during emersion, a hydrophilic character is observed, probably derived from conformational changes and swelling during the contact angle measure-ments in water. Facile synthesis of 9-（N-amino-4-fluoromethyl-3-pyrrolidinyl）-2- fluoro-6-aminopurine from trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline

A novel and simple procedure for synthesis of azanucleoside by Mitsunobu reaction between N-(p-nitrobenzyloxycarbonyl)- trans-4-hydroxy-D-proline methyl ester obtained from trans-4-hydroxy-L-proline after six-step reaction and 2-fluoro-6-azidopurine is described,and azanucleoside is fluorinated by new fluridizer 2,2-difluoro-1,3-dimethylimidazolidine (DFI).All reactions could be carded out under mild condition.     

Synthesis, crystal structure and spectroscopic properties of an unsymmetrical compound with carbazole and benzothiadiazole units

An unsymmetrical organic compound with carbazole (Cz) as donor and benzothiadiazole (BTD) as acceptor (D-π-A-π∗-D∗) was designed and synthesized via simple Heck reaction. The unique crystal structure of Cz-BTD-Cz∗ shows a ladder-like packing mode. A two molecule pair stacks parallelly with each other in each packing unit. In each cell, one Cz moiety is connected with BTD by vinylene bond in same plane. However, the other Cz group is connected to BTD by a one-end vinyl bond in almost perpendicular position to the coplanar part of the molecule. The shortest intermolecular plane distance is 3.48 ± 0.1 Å. The photophysical properties of Cz-BTD-Cz∗ in solution and in bulky crystalline powder state were studied. In bulk crystalline powder state, it has a red-shifted emission band peaked at 609 nm relative to that in solution, and the FWHM was reduced to only 58 nm. Electrochemical properties were also investigated.

在稀盐酸介质中 ,维多利亚蓝B(VBB)的最大吸收峰位于 6 13nm ,当与NO- 2 反应后发生颜色变化 ,最大吸收峰红移 ,以试剂空白为参比 ,可观察到在 6 39nm处出现一新的最大吸收峰 ,同时在 5 6 0nm处发生褪色反应 ,最大褪色波长和最大吸收波长处吸光度均与溶液中NO- 2 的浓度成正比 ,其线性范围在 0～ 2 0 μg/ 2 5mlNO- 2 ,摩尔吸光系数分别为ε56 0 =2 .96× 10 4 L·mol- 1·cm- 1,ε6 39=3.2 3× 10 4 L·mol- 1·cm- 1,用双波长叠加法ε56 0 +6 39=6 .19× 10 4 L·mol- 1·cm- 1,相关系数为 0 .9999。由于显色反应在较强的酸性介质中进行 ,方法具有良好的选择性 ,用于环境水中微量NO- 2 的测定 ,结果满意。

Application of recoverable nanosized palladium(0) catalyst in Sonogashira reaction

In the absence of ligand, copper and amine, a recoverable nanoparticle palladium(0) catalyzed Sonogashira reaction of aryl iodides and bromides with terminal alkynes was developed. The protocol involved the use of an environmental-friendly reaction system with ethanol as the solvent, potassium carbonate as a base, and poly(vinylpyrrolidone) (PVP) supported nanosized palladium metal colloids as the catalyst. The palladium metal was recovered and recycled by a simple decantation of the reaction solution and used for eight consecutive trials without significant loss of its reactivity.
