Efficient Friedländer Synthesis of Quinoline Derivatives from 2-Aminoarylketones and Carbonyl Compounds Mediated by Recyclable PEG-Supported Sulfonic Acid

2-Aminoarylketones undergo smooth condensation with α-methylene ketones in the presence of 10 mol% of poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG)–supported sulfonic acid under mild reaction conditions to afford the corresponding poly-substituted quinolines in excellent yields. The catalyst can be recovered by simple filtration and can be recycled in subsequent reactions. The method is simple, cost-effective, and environmentally benign.     

Easy Access to α-Bromoketones and Epoxides from vic-Dibromides Under Aqueous Conditions

The conversion of vic-1,2 dibromides to α-bromoketones and epoxides using H₂O₂/dioxane and NaOH/water respectively under mild conditions has been described.     

A Versatile Method for the Preparation of Enantiomeric Benzene-1,2-bis(alanine) Derivatives

Abstract

A versatile method for the preparation of dicarba analogues of cystine as substituted benzene-, dihydrobenzene-, and tetrahydrobenzene-1,2-bis(alanine) derivatives is described. The partially saturated products resulted from Diels-Alder adduct formation with stereoselectively prepared (2R,7R)-2,7-diacetamido-4,5-bis (methylene)octane-1,8-dioic acid dimethyl ester. Aromatization of the dihydro adducts by manganese dioxide provided the parent benzene-1,2-bis(alanine) derivatives.     

Efficient Synthesis of the Cyanofluoromethylated Ketones: Michael Reaction of the Cyanofluoromethyl Anion Species to Unsaturated Ketones

Abstract

Synthesis of cyanofluoromethylated ketones is discussed. The Michael addition of α‐cyano‐α‐fluoromethyl anion species to α,β‐unsaturated ketones is investigated.     

Synthesis of 3-Trifluoromethyl-Substituted Benzo[f]chromene Derivatives in a One-Pot Reaction

In the presence of 1,8-diazabicycolo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU) and concentrated H₂SO₄, 2-naphthol reacted smoothly with α,β-unsaturated trifluoromethyl ketones in CH₂Cl₂ at room temperature, affording the 3-trifluoromethyl-substituted benzo[f]chromene derivatives in good to excellent yields in a one-pot reaction.

NaOH/Et3N-Promoted Stereoselective One-Pot Synthesis of α-Diazo Oxime Ethers via Diazo Transfer Reaction

For the first time, we have observed a combined effect of two bases NaOH/Et₃N to promote the diazo transfer reaction of β-oximino esters. This unusual synergistic effect has been employed to obtain α-diazo oxime ethers directly from β-keto esters by one-pot process. This method is simple and cost-effective and the reagents are readily available.     

Micellar Mediated Halodecarboxylation of α,β‐Unsaturated Aliphatic and Aromatic Carboxylic Acids—A Novel Green Hunsdiecker–Borodin Reaction

A Novel Hunsdiecker‐Borodin reaction (HBR) has been carried out efficiently with α,β‐unsaturated aliphatic and aromatic carboxylic acids by using N‐halo succinimides such as N‐chloro succinimide (NCS), N‐bromo succinimide (NBS), and N‐iodo succinimide (NIS) under micellar media. The reaction with α,β‐unsaturated aromatic carboxylic acids afforded β‐halo styrenes in excellent yield while α,β‐unsaturated aliphatic carboxylic acids underwent decarboxylation and to give corresponding halo derivatives. The reactions are dramatically accelerated in micellar media. This procedure works efficiently in CTAB (cetyl trimethyl ammonium bromide), SDS (sodium dodecyl sulfate), and TX (Triton‐X‐100) media under stirred conditions at room temperature. At reflux temperatures the yield of reaction products were further enhanced from good to excellent.     

Enantioresolution of 2-methoxy-2-(1-naphtyl)propionic acid using diastereomeric salt formation with chiral phenylethylamine

An enantioresolution of 2-methoxy-2-(1-naphtyl)propionic acid (MαNP acid) using the diastereomeric salt with chiral (R)-phenylethylamine was achieved to give enantiopure (R)-MαNP acid in 29% yield with >99% ee based on rac-MαNP acid. X-ray crystallographic analysis of diastereomeric salt revealed that (R)-MαNP acid was tightly arranged by four independent hydrogen bonds and one CH–π interaction with (R)-phenylethylamine.     

α-Actinin involvement in Z-disk assembly during skeletal muscle C2C12 cells in vitro differentiation

α-Actinin is involved in the assembly and maintenance of muscle fibers. α-Actinin is required to cross-link actin filaments and to connect the actin cytoskeleton to the cell membrane and it is necessary for the attachment of actin filaments to Z-disks in skeletal muscle fibers and to dense bodies in smooth muscle ones. In addition to its mechanical role, sarcomeric α-actinin interacts with proteins involved in a variety of signaling and metabolic pathways.The aim of this work is to monitor Z-disk formation, in order to clear up the role of sarcomeric α-actinin in undifferentiated stage, after 4 days of differentiation (intermediate differentiation stage) and after 7 days of differentiation (fully differentiated stage). For this purpose, C2C12 murine skeletal muscle cells, grown in vitro, were analyzed at three time points of differentiation.Confocal laser scanner microscopy and transmission electron microscopy have been utilized for α-actinin immunolocalization.Both techniques reveal that in undifferentiated cells labeling appears uniformly distributed in the cytoplasm with punctate α-actinin Z-bodies. Moreover, we found that when differentiation is induced, α-actinin links at first membrane-associated proteins, then it aligns longitudinally across the cytoplasm and finally binds actin, giving rise to Z-disks. These findings evidence α-actinin involvement in sarcomeric development, suggesting for this protein an important role in stabilizing the muscle contractile apparatus.     

α-Al_2O_3比表面积标准物质的研制

选择市售α-Al2O3粉体作为比表面积标准物质候选材料,采用交叉缩分方法对标准物质样品进行分装。检验结果表明α-Al2O3标准物质样品具有良好的均匀性和稳定性(18个月)。采用国际公认的氮气物理吸附BET方法,联合测量能力经过确认的8家实验室对α-Al2O3标准物质样品进行定值,标准值比表面积为5.47 m2/g,不确定度为0.22 m2/g(k=2)。
