The degradation of poly(methyl methacrylate) in the effect of negative thixotropy

An investigation of the degradation of poly(methyl methacrylate) in the case of negative thixotropy of its solutions in tricresyl phosphate showed that the number of polymer bonds broken by flow as expressed through the decrease of molecular weight in the course of the effect is determined by shear energy imposed on the system, irrespective of the velocity gradient and temperature used.     

Photoreactions of a polyamic acid containing 2,2-dinitrodiphenylmethane segments at symmetrical positions in the main chain

A polyamic acid containing 2,2^′-dinitrodiphenylmethane segments in the main chain was synthesized from 4,4^′-diamino-2,2^′-dinitrodiphenylmethane and pyrromellitic dianhydride. Irradiation of the polyamic acid was done in solution (in a protic solvent, isopropanol, in isopropanol in the presence of a triplet exciter, benzophenone and in acidified isopropanol) and as thin film. The irradiations were done in an immersion type photoreactor using a 125 W high-pressure mercury vapour lamp. The average molecular weights of the polymers were determined by gel permeation chromatography. The polydispersity index of the polyamic acid and the photoproduct showed the absence of photodegradation. The photoproducts were identified by comparing the spectra of polymer photoproducts with that of low molecular weight 2,2^′-dinitrodiphenylmethane derivatives under identical conditions. A possible mechanism for the phototransformations is suggested. Evaluation of photoresist behaviour of the polyamic acid was also done.     

Unconditionally Stable Z-Transform ADI-PML Algorithm for Lorentzian Double Negative Meta-Materials

Unconditionally stable formulations of the anisotropic perfectly matched layer (APML) are presented for truncating double negative (DNG) meta-material finite difference time domain (FDTD) grids. In the proposed formulations, the Z-transform theory is employed in the alternating direction implicit FDTD (ADI-FDTD) scheme to obtain update equations for the field components in the DNG meta-material domains. Numerical examples carried out in one dimensional Lorentzian type DNG meta-material domains are included to show the validity of the proposed formulations.     

Vortex core physics in the cuprate superconductor Nd2−xCexCuOy

Flux-flow voltage steps and negative differential resistivity in the cuprate Nd_2−xCe_xCuO_y are explained in terms of subbands between the Fermi energy and the energy gap affecting the quasiparticle dynamics.     

Modulation of rectification and negative differential resistance in graphene nanoribbon by nitrogen doping

By applying the nonequilibrium Green?s function formalism combined with density functional theory, we have investigated the electronic transport properties of two nitrogen-doped armchair graphene nanoribbon-based junctions M1 and M2. In the left part of M1 and M2, nitrogen atoms are doped at two edges of the nanoribbon. In the right part, nitrogen atoms are doped at one edge and at the center for M1 and M2, respectively. Obvious rectifying and negative differential resistance behaviors are found, which are strongly dependent on the doping position. The maximum rectification and peak-to-valley ratios are up to the order of 10⁴ in M2.     

Fresnel coefficients for a layer of NIM

Reflection and transmission of traveling and evanescent waves by a layer of material with a negative index of refraction (NIM) is studied by means of the Fresnel coefficients. We derive their values in the “NIM limit”, and we show that this limit is consistent with the exact solution. It is also indicated that simply substituting the negative values of the relative permittivity and permeability of the NIM material into the exact solution leads to incorrect results for evanescent waves.     

X射线光刻胶的研究

合成了甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯与甲基丙烯酸氯乙酯和甲基丙烯酸氯乙酯与甲基丙烯酸甲酯共聚物,并研究了该共聚物的分子量分布、结构和热稳定性能。研究了甲基丙烯酸缩水甘油酯与甲基丙烯酸氯乙酯正性X射线光刻胶。该光刻胶具有热稳定性和高分辨率性。最低线幅宽度为0.1μm。     

负离子源引出系统束光学的数值模拟

根据在表面-等离子体型负离子源中,负离子主要由转换电极表面产生这一特点,参考正离子源引出系统数值计算程序,建立了负离子源引出系统的数值计算模型和计算程序;对表面-等离子体型桶式负离子源引出系统束光学的性质进行了数值模拟。对计算结果的检验和分析表明,这个计算模型和程序反映了负离子源引出系统束光学的基本特性。     

Descartes ovaloides for negative refractive indices and their aplanatic cases

The possibility of material design technology to obtain negative refractive indices poses the question on the optical properties of aspherical surfaces made from such media. Here, the special aspherical surfaces connected with Cartesian ovaloides are discussed in the case of a negative refractive index. A subset of the Cartesian ovaloides contains spheres which allow aplanatic imaging in the well-known kind. A sign change of the refractive index shows changes in the virtual character of the aplanatic images.     

Convergence of series of dependent φ-subgaussian random variables

The almost sure convergence of weighted sums of φ-subgaussian m-acceptable random variables is investigated. As corollaries, the main results are applied to the case of negatively dependent and m-dependent subgaussian random variables. Finally, an application to random Fourier series is presented.
