Synthesis of (+)-goniothalesdiol and (+)-7-epi-goniothalesdiol

A total synthesis of (+)-goniothalesdiol, a 3,4-dihydroxy-2,5-disubstituted tetrahydrofuran isolated from Goniothalamus borneensis (Annonaceae), and its 7-epimer is reported using oxycarbonylation methodology for construction of polyhydroxylated substituted heterocycles. Diastereoselectivity of addition of organometallic reagents to 2,3-O-isopropylidene-d-threose derivatives using theoretical calculations based on the semiempirical PM5 was studied.     

Absolute configurations and circular dichroism of sesquiterpene-coumarin ethers

The absolute stereochemistry of 14 naturally occurring sesquiterpenecoumarin ethers is discussed. In 13 cases the coumarin moiety is isofraxidin (7-hydroxy-6,8-dimethoxycoumarin), in one case scopoletin (7-hydroxy-6-methoxycoumarin). The sesquiterpene moieties belong either to the bicyclic drimenole series or to its consecutive products (methyl migration, ring opening). The CD spectra of all compounds are given. The assignments of the absolute configurations are based on the method ofHoreau, chemical correlation by degradation reactions, extensive comparison of CD data, and biogenetic considerations.

Absolute Konfigurationen und Circulardichroismus von Sesquiterpen-Cumarin-Ethern

Zusammenfassung Es wird die absolute Stereochemie von 14 natürlich vorkommenden Sesquiterpen-Cumarin-Ethern diskutiert. In 13 Fällen wird die Cumarineinheit von Isofraxidin (7-Hydroxy-6,8-dimethoxycumarin) repräsentiert, in einem Fall von Scopoletin (7-Hydroxy-6-methoxycumarin). Der Sesquiterpenteil ist entweder von Drimenol oder Folgeprodukten (Methylgruppenwanderung, Ringöffnung) abgeleitet. Die CD-Spektren aller Verbindungen sind angegeben. Die Zuordnung der absoluten Konfigurationen basiert auf der Methode vonHoreau, chemischer Korrelation über Abbaureaktionen, Vergleich der CD-Spektren und biogenetischen Überlegungen.

     

Acremines A-F, novel secondary metabolites produced by a strain of an endophytic Acremonium, isolated from sporangiophores of Plasmopara viticola in grapevine leaves

Six novel metabolites, acremines A-F have been isolated from agar cultures of a strain of Acremonium sp. Their structures and stereochemistry were elucidated using a combination of ¹³C and ¹H homo and heteronuclear 2D NMR experiments and X-ray analysis. Acremines A-D inhibited the germination of sporangia of Plasmopara viticola.     

Assigning the C-15 configuration of 15-hydroxy-, 15-methoxy-, 15-ethoxy-hexahydrofurofuran neoclerodane diterpenoids

Examination of ¹H and ¹³C NMR spectra allows the establishment of rules for assigning the correct configuration at C-15 of 15-hydroxy-, 15-methoxy-, 15-ethoxy-hexahydrofurofuran neoclerodane diterpenoids. The structure of several diterpenoids has been assigned or ammended.     

Resonance Rayleigh scattering determination of trace amounts of Al in natural waters and biological samples based on the formation of an Al(III)-morin-surfactant complex

A novel method for the determination of trace amounts of Al(III) based on resonance Rayleigh scattering (RRS) has been developed. In the presence of some surfactants, Al(III) can react with morin and form an Al(III)-morin-surfactant complex, which results in the enhancement of RRS intensity and the appearance of the corresponding RRS spectral characteristics. Their maximum scatter peaks are at 476 nm for the cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) system, 489 nm for the cetylpyridinium chloride (CPC) system, 474 nm for the Triton X-100 system, and 473 nm for the Tween-20 system. The enhanced RRS intensity is directly proportional to the concentration of Al(III). The detection limits are in the range of (0.50-1.2)×10⁻⁷ mol l⁻¹ depending on the surfactant. The characteristics of RRS spectra of the complexes, the optimum conditions of these reactions and the influencing factors have been investigated. The method has high selectivity, and was successfully applied to the determination of Al(III) in natural and biological samples. Furthermore, according to different complexation capacity of Al(III)-morin-CTAB system under two pH conditions, speciation analysis of Al(III) in natural waters was explored. The labile monomeric Al fraction (mainly inorganic Al, Al_i) is determined at acidic pH and the total monomeric Al fraction (Al_a) is determined at alkaline pH. The results are in agreement with those obtained by Driscoll’s 8-hydroxyquinoline extraction-ion exchange method.     

The furan approach to oxacycles. Part 5: Synthesis of a chiral butenolide, building block towards biologically interesting natural products

We describe an efficient new approach for the synthesis of a chiral butenolide that is based on the oxidation of a chiral furan ring with singlet oxygen in the presence of Hünig’s base, followed by Luche reduction and in situ lactonization.     

Simultaneous determination of radionuclides separable into natural decay series by use of time-interval analysis

A delayed coincidence method, time-interval analysis (TIA), has been applied to successive – decay events on the millisecond time-scale. Such decay events are part of the ²²⁰Rn²¹⁶Po (T_1/2 145 ms) (Th-series) and ²¹⁹Rn²¹⁵Po (T_1/2 1.78 ms) (Ac-series). By using TIA in addition to measurement of ²²⁶Ra (U-series) from -spectrometry by liquid scintillation counting (LSC), two natural decay series could be identified and separated. The TIA detection efficiency was improved by using the pulse-shape discrimination technique (PSD) to reject -pulses, by solvent extraction of Ra combined with simple chemical separation, and by purging the scintillation solution with dry N₂ gas. The U- and Th-series together with the Ac-series were determined, respectively, from alpha spectra and TIA carried out immediately after Ra-extraction. Using the ²²¹Fr²¹⁷At (T_1/2 32.3 ms) decay process as a tracer, overall yields were estimated from application of TIA to the ²²⁵Ra (Np-decay series) at the time of maximum growth. The present method has proven useful for simultaneous determination of three radioactive decay series in environmental samples.     

Morphology of peroxide-prevulcanised natural rubber latex: effect of reaction time and deproteinisation

A non-uniform mesh structure, i.e. a dense network near the surface of peroxide-prevulcanised natural rubber latex particles, was observed under transmission electron microscopy. In the initial period of prevulcanisation, the swelling ratio of the latex sheet decreased with longer reaction time while an increase in crosslink density of rubber particles containing polystyrene, prepared using the phase transfer/bulk polymerisation process, was noticed. The modulus of the rubber sheet increased up to maximum crosslinking and thereafter decreased. After removal of proteins from the latex membrane layer, derived from protein-lipid originally existing at the rubber particle surface, could not be detected. The absence of proteins, which act as free radical scavengers, resulted in a rapid diffusion of alkoxy radicals into the rubber phase of deproteinised latex and, therefore, a uniform crosslink distribution inside each particle was obtained.     

Oxazinins from toxic mussels: isolation of a novel oxazinin and reassignment of the C-2 configuration of oxazinin-1 and -2 on the basis of synthetic models

The analysis of a batch of toxic mussels (Mytilus galloprovincialis) from the Northern Adriatic Sea led to the isolation of a novel oxazinin, oxazinin-4. Its structure including the relative stereochemistry has been elucidated through extensive NMR analysis. A synthetic route to oxazinins has been crucial in establishing the absolute stereochemistry of oxazinin-4 and for reassigning the absolute C-2 configuration of oxazinin-1 and -2 previously isolated from toxic shellfish and stereostructurally characterized.     

利用天然生物分子合成导电聚苯胺的研究

本文综述了利用多种不同的天然生物分子如蛋白质(包括酶和氨基酸)、糖类、核酸、多巴胺和柠檬汁等为模板合成导电聚苯胺的研究进展。本文首先介绍了这些天然生物分子对产物聚苯胺的手性、导电率、形态以及其它方面性质的影响,归纳了利用天然生物分子合成导电聚苯胺的研究进展,然后分析了导电聚苯胺合成过程中面临的问题并对该领域的未来发展进行了展望,以期为制备性质优良和环境友好的新型导电聚苯胺材料提供有益的参考。
