We study the strong-coupling limit of the AdS/CFT correspondence in the framework of a recently proposed fermionic formulation
of the Bethe ansatz equations governing the gauge theory anomalous dimensions. We give examples of states that do not follow
the Gubser-Klebanov-Polyakov law at a large ’t Hooft coupling λ, in contrast to recent results on the quantum string Bethe
equations that are valid in that regime. This result indicates that the fermionic construction cannot be trusted at large
λ, although it remains an efficient tool for computing the weak-coupling expansion of anomalous dimensions.

The reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of acrylonitrile (AN) mediated by 2‐cyanoprop‐2‐yl dithiobenzoate was first applied to synthesize polyacrylonitrile (PAN) with a high molecular weight up to 32,800 and a polydispersity index as low as 1.29. The key to success was ascribed to the optimization of the experimental conditions to increase the fragmentation reaction efficiency of the intermediate radical. In accordance with the atom transfer radical polymerization of AN, ethylene carbonate was also a better solvent candidate for providing higher controlled/living RAFT polymerization behaviors than dimethylformamide and dimethyl sulfoxide. The various experimental parameters, including the temperature, the molar ratio of dithiobenzoate to the initiator, the molar ratio of the monomer to dithiobenzoate, the monomer concentration, and the addition of the comonomer, were varied to improve the control of the molecular weight and polydispersity index. The molecular weights of PANs were validated by gel permeation chromatography along with a universal calibration procedure and intrinsic viscosity measurements. 1H NMR analysis confirmed the high chain‐end functionality of the resultant polymers. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. In this paper we prove some Ramanujan type formulas for 1/π but without using the theory of modular forms. Instead we use
the WZ—method created by H. Wilf and D. Zeilberger and find some hypergeometric functions in two variables which are second
components of WZ—pairs than can be certified using Zeilberger's EKHAD package. These certificates have an additional property
which allows us to get generalized Ramanujan's type series which are routinely proven by computer. We call these second hypergeometric
components of the WZ—pairs generators. Finding generators seems a hard task but using a kind of experimental research (explained
below), we have succeeded in finding some of them. Unfortunately we have not found yet generators for the most impressive
Ramanujan's formulas. We also prove some interesting binomial sums for the constant 1/π2. Finally we rewrite many of the obtained series using pochhammer symbols and study the rate of convergence.

This paper studies the tail behavior of the fundamental period in the MAP/G/1 queue. We prove that if the service time distribution
has a regularly varying tail, then the fundamental period distribution in the MAP/G/1 queue has also regularly varying tail,
and vice versa, by finding an explicit expression for the asymptotics of the tail of the fundamental period in terms of the
tail of the service time distribution. Our main result with the matrix analytic proof is a natural extension of the result
in (de Meyer and Teugels, J. Appl. Probab. 17: 802–813, 1980) on the M/G/1 queue where techniques rely heavily on analytic expressions of relevant functions.

Highly ordered composite nanowires with multilayer Ni/Cu and NiFe/Cu have been fabricated by pulsed electrodeposition into
nanoporous alumina membrane. The diameter of wires can be easily varied by pore size of alumina, ranging from 30 to 100 nm.
The applied potential and the duration of each potential square pulse determine the thickness of the metal layers. The nanowires
have been characterized by transmission electron microscopy (TEM), magnetic force microscopy (MFM), and vibrating sample magnetometer
(VSM) measurements. The MFM images indicate that every ferromagnetic layer separated by Cu layer was present as single isolated
domain-like magnet. This technique has potential use in the measurement and application of magnetic nanodevices. 相似文献
