This paper considers the problem of reducing the computational time in testing uniformity for a full period multiple recursive generator (MRG). If a sequence of random numbers generated by a MRG is divided into even number of segments, say 2s, then the multinomial goodness-of-fit tests and the empirical distribution function goodness-of-fit tests calculated from the ith segment are the same as those of the (s + i)th segment. The equivalence properties of the goodness-of-fit test statistics for a MRG and its associated reverse and additive inverse MRGs are also discussed.  相似文献

We study the routing of a single vehicle that delivers multiple products under stochastic demand. Specifically, we investigate two practical variations of this problem: (i) The case in which each product type is stored in its dedicated compartment in the vehicle, and (ii) the case in which all products are stored together in the vehicle’s single compartment. Suitable dynamic programming algorithms are proposed to determine the minimum expected (routing) cost for each case. Furthermore, the optimal routing policy is derived by developing appropriate theorems. The efficiency of the algorithms is studied by solving large problem sets.  相似文献

We study Schur Q-polynomials evaluated on a geometric progression, or equivalently q-enumeration of marked shifted tableaux, seeking explicit formulas that remain regular at q=1. We obtain several such expressions as multiple basic hypergeometric series, and as determinants and pfaffians of continuous q-ultraspherical or continuous q-Jacobi polynomials. As special cases, we obtain simple closed formulas for staircase-type partitions.  相似文献

We introduce and formalise a scheduling problem that consists in determining an optimum policy (i.e. one that minimises total inventory holding costs) to produce n part-types using a system that is able to share its capacity at all times among these part-types and that switches between an active and an inactive state for pre-known periods of time. Consequently, when active the system must produce enough reserves to meet the demand during the inactive interval. We show that there is always a simple optimum policy in which the production of the part-types is prioritised and, provided the units are properly defined, the optimum priority ordering corresponds to a non-decreasing sequence of the unit holding costs of the part-types.  相似文献

A method for fast and selective determination of the main triterpenic compounds present in olive leaves — oleanolic, ursolic and maslinic acids as triterpenic acids and, uvaol and erythrodiol as triterpenic dialcohols — is reported here. Quantitative isolation of the analytes has been accomplished in 5 min by microwave assistance using ethanol as extractant. Due to the medium polarity of triterpenic acids and dialcohols, different ethanol-water ratios were tested in order to select the optimum extractant composition for their solubilisation. Microwave assistance provided a significant shortening of the leaching time as compared to conventional procedures by maceration, which usually requires at least 5 h. After extraction, determination was carried out by liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS-MS) with a triple quadrupole (qQq) mass detector without any clean-up step prior to chromatographic analysis. Highly selective identification of triterpenes was confirmed by multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) using the most representative transitions from the precursor ion to the different product ions, while the most sensitive transitions were used for MS-MS quantitation. Total analysis performed in 25 min enables the characterization of a fraction with particular interest in the pharmacological area.  相似文献

In a production system, rework process plays an important role in eliminating waste and effectively controlling the cost of manufacturing. Determining the optimal batch size in a system that allows for rework is, therefore, a worthwhile objective to minimize the inventory cost of work-in-processes and the finished goods. In this paper, models for the optimum batch quantity in a multi-stage system with rework process have been developed for two different operational policies. Policy 1 deals with the rework within the same cycle with no shortage and policy 2 deals with the rework done after N cycles, incurring shortages in each cycle. The major components that play a role in minimizing this cost of the system are manufacturing setups, work-in-processes, storage of finished goods, rework processing, waiting-time, and penalty costs to discourage the generation of defectives. The mathematical structure of this rework processing model falls under a nonlinear convex programming problems for which a closed-form solution has been proposed and results are demonstrated through numerical examples, followed by sensitivity analyses of different important parameters. It is concluded that the total cost in policy 2 tends to be smaller than that in policy 1 at lower proportion of defectives if the in-process carrying cost is low. Policy 2 may be preferred when the work-in-process carrying cost is low and the penalty cost is negligible.  相似文献

Numerous analogies between organic and inorganic chemistry have emerged in recent years. The most prominent example is the isolobal relationship. Many reactions have shown that metal-metal double and triple bonds exhibit a pattern of reactivity similar to that of alkenes and alkynes. In compounds containing a σ2π4 triple bond between molybdenum and tungsten atoms, the M? M bond order can be increased from three to four by reductive elimination or decreased from three to two or one by oxidative addition. Complexes with M?M bonds can be used to prepare clusters or can serve as catalysts. In this review relationships between structure (electronic and stereochemical) and reactivity that are characteristic for modern inorganic chemistry are discussed.  相似文献

We introduce multiple Wilson polynomials, which give a new example of multiple orthogonal polynomials (Hermite–Padé polynomials) of type II. These polynomials can be written as a Jacobi–Piñeiro transform, which is a generalization of the Jacobi transform for Wilson polynomials, found by Koornwinder. Here we need to introduce Jacobi and Jacobi–Piñeiro polynomials with complex parameters. Some explicit formulas are provided for both Jacobi–Piñeiro and multiple Wilson polynomials, one of them in terms of Kampé de Fériet series. Finally, we look at some limiting relations and construct a part of a multiple AT-Askey table.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the behavior of a discrete-time multiserver buffer system with infinite buffer size. Packets arrive at the system according to a two-state Markovian arrival process. The service times of the packets are assumed to be constant, equal to multiple slots. The behavior of the system is analyzed by means of an analytical technique based on probability generating functions (PGF’s). Explicit expressions are obtained for the PGF’s of the system contents and the packet delay. From these, the mean values, the variances and the tail distributions of the system contents and the packet delay are calculated. Numerical examples are given to show the influence of various model parameters on the system behavior.  相似文献
