A systematic extension of Ruedenberg's expansion formula is applied to evaluate two-electron integrals occurring in calculations on molecular structure. Minimum STO basis sets are used for all SCF-calculations within the framework of the MEDO-method (Multipole Expansion of Diatomic Overlap). The errors due to this approximation scheme are almost negligible compared to those introduced by the truncated basis set: LiH, Li2 and N2 are chosen as examples.  相似文献

The structure of the silica aerogels was studied by Raman spectroscopy. The spectra of the solid network resembles that of bulk silica with additional bands related to organic groups and a large amount of OH groups.The typical bands due to ring breathing also called defect bands D 1 and D 2 located at 490 and 610 cm–1 are present. However, the evolution of the D 2 band compared to that of OH band (980 cm–1) seems apparently, in contradiction with the results previously reported in the literature. During heat treatments between 25 and 300°C the D 2 and the OH bands increase simultaneously. Generally, in silica glass the defect band D 2 grows at the expense of the OH groups.This result is explained by the oxidation of the organic compounds which, in this temperature range, leads to the formation of the both species (OH) and those related to siloxane rings. 29Si MAS NMR results are in agreement with the Raman study.  相似文献

Modern drug development requires technologies that allow rapid translation from the preclinical to the clinical stage. It is obvious that non-invasive imaging modalities such as magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) will play a central role in this regard. This article reviews the use of structural and functional MRI readouts for characterization of central nervous system (CNS) disorders and evaluation of the efficacy of potential CNS drugs. Examples comprise dementia of Alzheimer's type, cerebral ischemia, and neuroinflammation covering both clinical and preclinical aspects. In these examples MRI has been used to obtain relevant structural information on brain atrophy, on the location and extent of ischemic brain areas, and on the number and distribution of demyelinated plaques. These structural data are complemented by readouts assessing the functional consequences associated with the pathomorphological changes. In the last decade, MRI has evolved into a standard tool for the development of CNS drugs. With regard to target-specific/molecular imaging applications MRI is limited by its inherently low sensitivity; complementary imaging modalities utilizing optical and radionuclear reporter systems will thus be required.  相似文献

We have developed multiple short‐period delta layers as a reference material for SIMS ultra‐shallow depth profiling. Boron nitride delta layers and silicon spacer layers were sputter‐deposited alternately, with a silicon spacer thickness of 1–5 nm. These delta‐doped layers were used to measure the sputtering rate change in the initial stage of oxygen ion bombardment. A significant variation of sputtering rate was observed in the initial 3 nm or less. The sputtering rate in the initial 3 nm was estimated to be about four times larger than the steady‐state value for 1000 eV oxygen ions. Copyright © 2003 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Electronic structure of optimized Ge5, Ge17, Ge5–O and Ge5 embedded in SiO2 nanoparticles have been studied by density functional theory to find out the effect of cluster size and Ge–O bond(s) on the optical energy gap between LUMO and HOMO. It was found that the optical energy gap depends on both cluster size and the number of Ge–O bonds nonlinearly. The optical energy gap was found to be in visible light range when the Ge5 nanoparticle has been embedded in SiO2 matrix.  相似文献

A kind of inorganic‐organic hybrid 18‐molybdodiphosphate nanoparticles ([(C4H9)4N]6P2Mo18Q62·4H2O) was firstly used as a bulk‐modifier to fabricate a three‐dimensional chemically modified carbon paste electrode (CPE) by direct mixing. The electrochemical behavior of the solid nanoparticles dispersed in the CPE in acidic aqueous solution was characterized by cyclic and square‐wave voltammetry. The hybrid 18‐molybdodiphosphate nanoparticles bulk‐modified CPE (MNP‐CPE) displayed a high electrocatalytic activity towards the reduction of nitrite, bromate and hydrogen peroxide. The remarkable advantages of the MNP‐CPE over the traditional polyoxometalates‐modified electrodes are their excellent reproducibility of surface‐renewal and high stability owing to the insolubility of the hybrid 18‐molybdodiphosphate nanoparticles.  相似文献

The goal of this work was the development of a novel type of heterogeneous catalyst, consisting of bare metal nanoparticles on stainless steel foils, which can be shaped to any kind of architecture and, if necessary, heated electrically. Solutions of pre-prepared, ligand protected and monodispersed gold, palladium, platinum and rhodium nanoparticles were sprayed onto stainless steel foils, followed by the careful removal of the ligand molecules by an oxygen plasma treatment. Due to this, bare particles become irreversibly fixed on the steel support. It could be shown that the original particle sizes do not change during the plasma treatment. Foils, densely coated with the nanoparticles, were used for gas phase catalyses in a self-made reactor at room temperature or at 60 °C. Hydrogenation of 1,3-butadiene at 15 nm Pd and 2 nm Pt, CO oxidation at 16 nm, 8 nm and 1.4 nm gold and NO reduction with NH3 at 2 nm Rh particles were performed, indicating that the novel catalysts might in principle be applicable in technical processes if the experimental conditions like form and temperature would be optimized. The enzyme cellulase fromAspergillus oryzae was resolved into four multiple forms, using anion exchange chromatography on DEAE Sephadex A-50 and gel filtration on Sephadex G-75. The stages of fractionation were followed by electrophoresis on cellulose acetate strips. These enzyme forms are characterized by different enzyme activities and isoelectric points.
