Numerous versions of the Lanczos τ-methods have been extensively used to produce polynomial approximations for functions verifying a linear differential equation with polynomial coefficients. In the case of an initial-value problem, an adapted τ-method based on Chebyshev series and the use of symbolic computation lead to a rational approximation of the solution on a region of the complex plane. Numerical examples show that the simplicity of the method does not prevent a high accuracy of results. We study extension of operators T: EL0([0, 1]), where E is an F–function space and L0([0, 1]) the space of measurable functions with the topology of convergence in measure, to domains larger than E, and we study the properties of such domains. The phenomenological amplitude for the reaction πN→ππN fixed by fittings to the experimental data in the energy region 0.300 ≤P Lab≤ 500 MeV/c is used for modelling the Chew–Low extrapolation and Olsson–Turner threshold approach. It is shown that the uncritical application of the former results in enermous theoretical errors, the extracted values being in fact random numbers. The results of the Olsson–Turner method are characterized by significant systematic errors coming from unknown details of the isobar physics. Received: 10 December 1997  相似文献

We consider a Cauchy problem for the sectorial evolution equation with generally variable operator in a Banach space. Variable stepsize discretizations of this problem by means of a strongly A(φ)-stable Runge-Kutta method are studied. The stability and error estimates of the discrete solutions are derived for wider families of nonuniform grids than quasiuniform ones (in particular, if the operator in question is constant or Lipschitz-continuous, for arbitrary grids).  相似文献

The first object of this paper is to introduce a new evolution equation for the characteristic function of the boundary Γ of a Lipschitzian domain Ω in the N-dimensional Euclidean space under the influence of a smooth time-dependent velocity field. The originality of this equation is that the evolution takes place in an Lp-space with respect to the (N − 1)-Hausdorff measure. A second more speculative objective is to discuss how that equation can be relaxed to rougher velocity fields via some weak formulation. A candidate is presented and some of the technical difficulties and open issues are discussed. Continuity results in several metric topologies are also presented. The paper also specializes the results on the evolution of the oriented distance function to initial sets with zero N-dimensional Lebesgue measure.  相似文献
