A novel method for fabricating a micro gas sensor film on an indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode patterned using micro‐machining technology was developed. A micromanipulation system equipped with a counter electrode (Au; Ø10 μm) and a microsyringe, which was connected to a microinjection system, was first constructed. With this system, micro gas sensor arrays could be successfully prepared on ITO electrodes. Two kinds of micro gas sensor films were prepared, based on polythiophene (PTh) and poly(3‐n‐dodecylthiophene) (PD). The response behavior of conventional PTh and micro‐PTh films against NH3 at three different operating temperatures (25, 40 and 60 °C) was investigated by measuring the resistance of the film. With the micro‐PTh film, a reversible response was observed against NH3 when measured at 40 and 60 °C. In addition, the responsive characteristics of the microsensor films against different testing gases were examined at the three operating temperatures. The resistance of the microsensor films of PTh and PD changed considerably, depending on the type of testing gas, allowing these sensor films to be used for the detection of various gases. Transition state analogues (TSAs) have long been regarded as ideal templates for the preparation of catalytically active synthetic imprinted polymers. In the current work, however, a new type of molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) was synthesized with the substrate (homovanillic acid, HVA) as the template and hemin introduced as the catalytic center, with the use of plural functional monomers to prepare the active sites. The MIP successfully mimicked natural peroxidase, suggesting that it may not be imperative to employ a TSA as the template when preparing enzyme-like imprinted polymers and that the imprinted polymer matrix provided an advantageous microenvironment around the catalytic center (hemin), essentially similar to that supplied by apo-proteins in natural enzymes. Significantly, by taking advantage of the special structure of hemin and multiple-site interactions provided by several functional monomers, the intrinsic difficulties for MIPs in recognizing template molecules in polar solutions were overcome. The newly developed polymer showed considerable recognizing ability toward HVA, catalytic activity, substrate specificity and also stability, which are the merits lacked by the natural peroxidase. Single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) arrays were used to detect chromosomal regions with DNA copy number alterations. Current statistical methods for microarray-based comparative genomic hybridization (array-CGH) analysis generally assume certain relationships among adjacent markers on the same chromosome, and these assumptions may be questionable. For an SNP-array-based CGH study, multiple normal reference SNP arrays were collected. In order to utilize these normal reference SNP arrays, we derived an empirical distribution of signal ratios for each SNP marker. With an assumed threshold value for the overall error rate control and the defined signal ratio ranges for chromosomal amplification and deletion, we proposed a procedure to identify chromosomal alteration regions based on several bootstrapped one-sample t-tests and the false discovery rate control. When we have multiple arrays for different individuals with the same disease, our method can also be used to detect SNP markers for chromosomal alteration regions that are common among these individuals. We applied our method to a published SNP array data set for breast carcinoma cell lines. For an individual with breast cancer, numerous chromosomal alteration regions were identified. Compared to results of previous studies, our method identified more chromosomal alteration regions, with some being implicated in the literature to harbor genes associated with breast cancer. For multiple cancer arrays, our results suggested the existence of common chromosomal alteration regions. However, a high proportion of false positives also indicated that genetic variations among different individuals with breast cancer can be present. 相似文献
