Specific Uphill Transport of Zinc as Zn(SCN)42− Ion using Na+-Dicyclohexyl-18-Crown-6 as Carrier

Sodium-dicyclohexyl- 18-crown-6 complex cation was used as carrier for the uphill transport of zinc as Zn(SCN)₄^2? complex anion. By using L-cysteine as a metal ion acceptor in the receiving phase at the optimized pH of 7.6, the amount of zinc transport through the liquid membrane after 90 min was 97.2 ± 1.0%. The selectivity and efficiency of zinc transport from aqueous solutions containing equimolar mixtures of Ag⁺, Cd²⁺ Co²⁺, Cu²⁺, Fe²⁺, Ni²⁺, Pb²⁺, Pd²⁺, Sr²⁺, Bi³⁺, Cr³⁺ and Fe³⁺ ions was investigated. In the presence of NH₂OH.HCl as a suitable masking agent in the source phase, the interfering effect of Cu²⁺ and Pb²⁺ ions was diminished drastically.     

Determination of the valence distribution of vanadium in polyolefin catalysts prepared from vanadium trichloride

An electrochemical method has been developed for determining the relative amounts of V(II) and V(III) in polyolefin catalysts prepared using aluminum alkyls and vanadium trichloride. The catalyst, usually obtained as a slurry in n-heptane, is titrated potentiometrically with ceric sulfate using a platinum indicator electrode. Under proper experimental conditions, 2 breaks are obtained, corresponding to the reactions V(II) →V(III) + e and V(III) →V(IV) + e. Interferences from other components of the catalyst are negligible. The method is useful for the analysis of both laboratory catalysts and grab samples taken from pilot plant reactors.     

四川地区宫颈癌组织HPV18和HPV45 E6基因突变分析

采用聚合酶链反应技术对四川地区2003~2004年收集的60例宫颈癌患者的癌组织DNA进行人乳头瘤病毒(HPV) E6基因扩增, 获得HPV18和45型E6基因. 序列分析发现, 18型三例E6基因有同样的两处同义突变; 45型两例E6基因发生突变, 一例有两处碱基突变, 另一例发生六处碱基突变, 其中两处涉及氨基酸变化, 均位于E6抗原决定簇区. HPV45型E6基因中134位c→t, 157位c→t, 259位g→t和341位t→c的碱基点突变未见报道. 另外， 该地区HPV18和45型突变株之间存在碱基互变,  它们之间的最小差异比野生型HPV18和HPV45之间的差异小4.05%, 该数值比在非洲发现的突变株的要小很多, 该结果支持HPV18和HPV45可能起源于非洲的观点.     

Insights into the Retention Mechanisms on Perfluorohexylpropylsiloxane-Bonded (Fluophase-RP) and Octadecylsiloxane-Bonded (Betasil C18) Stationary Phases Based on the Same Silica Substrate in RP-LC

The solvation parameter model is used to elucidate the retention mechanism on a perfluorohexylpropylsiloxane-bonded (Fluophase RP) and octadecylsiloxane-bonded (Betasil C18) stationary phases based on the same silica substrate with acetonitrile–water and methanol–water mobile phase compositions. Dewetting affects the retention properties of Fluophase RP at mobile phase compositions containing less than 20% (v/v) acetonitrile or 40% (v/v) methanol. It results in a loss of retention due to an unfavorable change in the phase ratio as well as changes in specific intermolecular interactions. Steric repulsion reduces retention of bulky solutes on fully solvated Betasil C18 with methanol–water (but not acetonitrile–water) mobile phase compositions but is not important for Fluophase RP. The retention of weak bases is affected by ion-exchange interactions on Fluophase RP with acetonitrile–water, and to a lesser extent, methanol-water mobile phases but these are weak at best for Betasil C18. The system constants of the solvation parameter model and retention factor scatter plots are used to compare selectivity differences for Fluophase RP, Betasil C18 and a perfluorophenylpropylsiloxane-bonded silica stationary phase Discovery HS F5 for conditions where incomplete solvation, steric repulsion and ion-exchange do not significantly contribute to the retention mechanism. Lower retention on Fluophase RP results from weaker dispersion and/or higher cohesion moderated to different extents by polar interactions since solvated Fluophase RP is a stronger hydrogen-bond acid and more dipolar/polarizable than Betasil C18. Retention factors for acetonitrile–water mobile phases are highly correlated for Fluophase RP and Betasil C18 except for compounds with a large excess molar refraction and weak hydrogen-bonding capability. Selectivity differences are more significant for methanol–water mobile phases. Retention factors on Fluophase RP are strongly correlated with those on Discovery HSF5 for acetonitrile–water mobile phases while methanol–water mobile phases retention on Fluophase RP is a poor predictor of the retention order on Discovery HS F5.     

Hydration of complexes of 18-crown-6 with potassium nitrate or potassium picrate in the polymer phase

Adsorption of water vapor by granular polymer based on dibenzo-18-crown-6 and containing potassium nitrate or potassium picrate in the polymer phase was studied by the isopiestic method at 298 K. The adsorption of water vapor is described by isotherms corresponding (according to BDDT classification) to polymolecular absorption with a high adsorptive potential. In terms of the Aranovich model of polymolecular absorption, the monolayer capacity and differential heat of adsorption were calculated, and the stoichiometry of hydration of the potassium nitrate and potassium picrate complexes with immobilized crown ether was estimated. 3β-Methoxyolean-18-ene (miliacin) from the marine fungus Chaetomium olivaceum

A pentacyclic tritepenoid, 3-methoxyolean-18-ene (miliacin), was isolated for the first time from the marine fungus Chaetomium olivaceum. Its structure was determined on the basis of 2D NMR spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction data.     

烷基磷脂-一类抗癌药物的合成

曾报道烷基磷脂类化合物能抑制小鼠体内移植肿瘤的生长并能选择破坏白血病细胞。在Andreesen等所试的九种溶血磷脂化合物中,1-O-十八烷基-2-O-甲基甘油-3-磷脂胆碱(ET-18-OCH_3,1)具有杀死白血病癌细胞的最高能力。其作用机制可能是抑制后者的新陈代谢或活化巨噬细胞。     

Bilimits are bifinal objects

We prove that a (lax) bilimit of a 2-functor is characterized by the existence of a limiting contraction in the 2-category of (lax) cones over the diagram. We also investigate the notion of bifinal object and prove that a (lax) bilimit is a limiting bifinal object in the 2-category of (lax) cones. Everything is developed in the context of marked 2-categories, so that the machinery can be applied to different levels of laxity, including pseudo-limits.     

A conglomerate of exponential supercategories of the category of finitely generated topological spaces

Summary For every ordinaln > 1 we define a categoryT _n of topological spaces in ech's sense which is isomorphic to a category ofn-ary monorelational systems. We show that every categoryT _n is an exponential supercategory of the categoryB of finitely generated topological spaces, which means that well-behaved function spacesG ^H can be defined inT _n wheneverG B.     

The Dold-Lashof-Fuchs construction revisited

Sia dato uno spazio topologicoE con azione di un monoide topologicoH e siaE→B una funzione continue che, su ogni apertoU di una partizione dell'unità diB, sia, a meno di omotopia, la proiezioneU×H→U (ovvero una fibrazione numerabile). Un classico risultato di A. Dold e R. Lashof (1959) permette di costruire, a partire daE→B, una funzione continuaE _∞→B_∞, conE _∞ debolmente contraibile e munito di azione diH: laH-fibrazione universale associata daH. Tale funzione, in generale, non è purtroppo numerabile e quindi non si presta alla classificazione delleH-fibrazioni numerabili. Successivamente (1971), M. Fuchs ha trovato un modo di modificare la costruzione di Dold-Lashof per recuperare la numerabilità. La costruzione di Dold-Lashof-Fuchs è, da allora, uno dei principali strumenti nella teoria degli spazi classificanti di monoidi topologici, anche se vi è un uso di topologie alquanto complesse e quindi poco maneggevoli. In questo lavoro ci proponiamo di mostrare come, lavorando nella categoria conveniente deik-spazi, sia possibile descrivere la costruzione di Dold-Lashof-Fuchs in modo estremamente semplificato ed adattarla anche alla classificazione delleF-fibrazioni numerabili.
