Let G be a (C4,2K2)-free graph with edge ideal I(G)?k[x1,,xn]. We show that I(G)s has linear resolution for every s2. Also, we show that every power of the vertex cover ideal of G has linear quotients. As a result, we describe the Castelnuovo–Mumford regularity of powers of I(G) in terms of the maximum degree of G.  相似文献

We consider a nonlinear diffusion equation on an infinite periodic metric graph. We prove that the terms which are irrelevant w.r.t. linear diffusion on the real line are irrelevant w.r.t. linear diffusion on the periodic metric graph, too. Let S be a regular local ring or a polynomial ring over a field and I be an ideal of S. Motivated by a recent result of Herzog and Huneke, we study the natural question of whether Im is a Golod ideal for all m2. We observe that the Golod property of an ideal can be detected through the vanishing of certain maps induced in homology. This observation leads us to generalize some known results from the graded case to local rings and obtain new classes of Golod ideals.  相似文献

We study standing waves of NLS equation posed on the double-bridge graph: two semi-infinite half-lines attached at a circle. At the two vertices Kirchhoff boundary conditions are imposed. The configuration of the graph is characterized by two lengths, L1 and L2. We study the solutions with possibly nontrivial components on the half-lines and a cnoidal component on the circle. The problem is equivalent to a nonlinear boundary value problem in which the boundary condition depends on the spectral parameter ω. After classifying the solutions with rational L1/L2, we turn to L1/L2 irrational showing that there exist standing waves only in correspondence to a countable set of negative frequencies ωn. Moreover we show that the frequency sequence admits cluster points and any negative real number can be a limit point of frequencies choosing a suitable irrational geometry L1/L2. These results depend on basic properties of diophantine approximation of real numbers.  相似文献

We study the oscillation stability problem for the Urysohn sphere, an analog of the distortion problem for ?2 in the context of the Urysohn space U. We construct automorphisms of C n which map certain discrete sequences one onto another with prescribed finite jet at each point, thus solving a general Mittag-Leffler interpolation problem for automorphisms. We analyse the dynamics of two identical Josephson junctions coupled through a purely capacitive load in the neighborhood of a degenerate symmetric homoclinic orbit. A bifurcation function is obtained applying Lin's version of the Lyapunov–Schmidt reduction. We locate in parameter space the region of existence of n-periodic orbits, and we prove the existence of n-homoclinic orbits and bounded nonperiodic orbits. A singular limit of the bifurcation function yields a one-dimensional mapping which is analyzed. Numerical computations of nonsymmetric homoclinic orbits have been performed, and we show the relevance of these computations by comparing the results with the analysis.  相似文献
