Molecular and functional diversity of vascular endothelial growth factors   总被引:15,自引:0,他引:15  
Summary Members of the vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) family are crucial regulators of neovascularization and are classified as cystine knot growth factors that specifically bind cellular receptor tyrosine kinases VEGFR-1, VEGFR-2, and VEGFR-3 with high but variable affinity and selectivity. The VEGF family has recently been expanded and currently comprises seven members: VEGF-A, VEGF-B, placenta growth factor (PlGF), VEGF-C, VEGF-D, viral VEGF (also known as VEGF-E), and snake venom VEGF (also known as VEGF-F). Although all members are structurally homologous, there is molecular diversity among the subtypes, and several isoforms, such as VEGF-A, VEGF-B, and PlGF, are generated by alternative exon splicing. These splicing isoforms exhibit differing properties, particularly in binding to co-receptor neuropilins and heparin. VEGF family proteins play multiple physiological roles, such as angiogenesis and lymphangiogenesis, while exogenous members (viral and snake venom VEGFs) display activities that are unique in physiology and function. This review will highlight the molecular and functional diversity of VEGF family proteins.  相似文献

能带值为0.5~0.85 eV材料的稀缺是多结太阳能电池面临的一个主要挑战,本文使用非真空的机械化学法合成了能带值为0.83 eV的Cu2SnS3化合物,使用印刷技术将其制备成吸收层薄膜,并采用superstrate太阳能电池结构(Mo/Cu2SnS3/In2S3/TiO2/FTO glass)对其光伏特性进行了研究.实验表明所制备的太阳能电池短路电流密度、开路电压、填充因子和转换效率分别为12.38 mA/cm2、320 mV、0.28和1.10%.此外,为更好地满足多结太阳能电池对电流匹配的需求,本文对所制备太阳能电池的Cu2SnS3/In2S3 p-n结进行了分析.通过在p-n结界面植入一层薄的疏松缓冲层,使调制后的太阳能电池短路电流密度从最初的12.38 mA/cm2增加到了23.15 mA/cm2,相应太阳能电池转换效率从1.1%增加到了1.92%.该p-n调制技术对印刷型薄膜太阳能电池具有重要借鉴意义.  相似文献

Inverse opal scaffolds are finding widespread use in tissue engineering and regenerative medicine. Herein, the way in which the pore sizes and related physical properties of poly(D ,L ‐lactide‐co‐glycolide) inverse opal scaffolds are affected by the fabrication conditions is systematically investigated. It is found that the window size of an inverse opal scaffold is mainly determined by the annealing temperature rather than the duration of time, and the surface pore size is largely determined by the concentration of the infiltration solution. Although scaffolds with larger pore or window sizes facilitate faster migration of cells, they show slightly lower compressive moduli than scaffolds with smaller pore or window sizes.  相似文献

In the present paper, suitable TiO2 nanoparticles are successfully synthesized by sol‐gel method, in order to utilize the freshly prepared TiO2 nanoparticles for proton exchange membrane (PEM) preparation. Titanium tetrachloride (TiCl4) is used as precursor and ethanol as a solvent. The optimum and suitable TiO2 nanoparticles were obtained by varying gelatinisation time (4–120 h), concentration of precursor (TiCl4) in ethanol (2–15 vol%), and reaction temperature (15–35 °C). The morphology, size and purity of the nanoparticles are investigated by transmission electron microscope (TEM), dynamic light scattering (DLS) and X‐ray diffraction (XRD). Optimum results were found at 4 h of gelatinisation time, 10% precursor concentration and 25 °C temperature for preparation of TiO2 nanoparticles. Thus prepared nanoparticles are found to be suitable for preparation of nanocomposite PEM, and consequently the prepared PEM indicates enhanced properties, such as, higher thermal stability (high glass transition temperature of 184.1 °C), excellent proton conductivity (0.0822 S cm−1 at room temperature) and low methanol permeability (1.11 × 10−9 cm2 s−1).  相似文献

Based on a water‐in‐oil‐in‐water emulsion system, porous and hollow polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) beads containing cells using a simple fluidic device with three flow channels are fabricated. Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) in the PDMS oil phase is served as a porogen for pore development. The feasibility of the porous PDMS beads prepared with different PEG concentrations (10, 20, and 30 wt%) for cell encapsulation in terms of pore size, protein diffusion, and cell proliferation inside the PDMS beads is evaluated. The PDMS beads prepared with PEG 30 wt% are exhibited a highly porous structure and facilitated fast diffusion of protein from the core domain to the outer phase, eventually leading to enhanced cell proliferation. The results clearly indicate that hollow PDMS beads with a porous structure could provide a favorable microenvironment for cell survival due to the large porous structure.

Cerebellar long-term depression (LTD) is a type of synaptic plasticity and has been considered as a critical cellular mechanism for motor learning. LTD occurs at excitatory synapses between parallel fibers and a Purkinje cell in the cerebellar cortex, and is expressed as reduced responsiveness to transmitter glutamate. Molecular induction mechanism of LTD has been intensively studied using culture and slice preparations, which has revealed critical roles of Ca2+, protein kinase C and endocytosis of AMPA-type glutamate receptors. Involvement of a large number of additional molecules has also been demonstrated, and their interactions relevant to LTD mechanisms have been studied. In vivo experiments including those on mutant mice, have reported good correlation of LTD and motor learning. However, motor learning could occur with impaired LTD. A possibility that cerebellar synaptic plasticity other than LTD compensates for the defective LTD has been proposed.  相似文献

The influence of P, T-parmeters and duration of heat when synthesizing diamond in high pressure apparatus both of recessed anvil-type and cylindrical type (belt-type) on properties of diamond powders was studied. Abstract

Energy Dispersive X-ray Diffraction (EDXD) was performed at room temperature to gather structural data on CaS between approximately 1.7 GPa to nearly 150GPa. In these experiments, CaS retained the B1 structure up to approximately 40 GPa above which it began to transform to the B2 structure. The B2 structure remained stable to the highest pressure reached, 149 GPa, where the relative volume V/V0 was 0.490. Previous studies on CaS extended only up to 52 GPa, which is barely 10 GPa after the B1 phase changes to the B2 structure. Thus it was not possible to accurately extrapolate the equation of state (EOS) for the B2 phase region to significantly higher pressures. In the present study EOS data for CaS was collected to 150 GPa and no other structural change was observed. EOS parameters for the B1 and B2 phase regions agree well with values reported in the literature.  相似文献

Abstract

Neptunium and plutonium monosulfides were studied under high pressure up to ~60 GPa using a diamond anvil cell in an energy dispersive X-ray diffraction facility. The compounds, of cubic rock salt structure type at ambient pressure, do not show any crystallographic phase transition in the domain of investigation. From the pressure-volume relationship, we determined bulk moduli of 92 and 120 GPa with pressure derivatives of 4.6 and 4.1 for NpS and PUS respectively.  相似文献

I have examined the changes in in situ Raman spectra of ice in aqueous LiOH solution as a function of pressure at liquid nitrogen temperature (77 K). Here, I have shown the possibility that ice in aqueous LiOH solution transforms to a high-density amorphous like phase at around 0.9 GPa. I have mentioned that the results show differences strongly depending on the salts dissolved in the aqueous solutions.  相似文献
