Intramolecular Diels—Alder reaction of 4-(N-furfuryl)aminobut-1-enes. New approach to the synthesis of 6,8a-epoxyoctahydroisoquinoline (3-aza-11-oxatricyclo[6.2.1.01,6]undec-9-ene) derivatives

The intramolecular Diels—Alder reaction of readily accessible 4-substituted 4-(N-furfuryl)aminobut-1-enes was studied and a new one-step method was developed for the synthesis of 6,8a-epoxy-1,2,3,4,4a,5,6,8a-octahydroisoquinoline (3-aza-11-oxatricyclo[6.2.1.0^1,6]undec-9-ene) derivatives. The [4+2]-cycloaddition proceeds stereoselectively to form exo-adducts. The influence of substituents at the nitrogen atom in 4-(N-furfuryl)aminobut-1-enes on the cycloaddition pathway was examined.     

Synthesis and characterisation of bis(pentafluorophenyl)antimony(V) cations, [(C6F5)2SbL3]

Pentacoordinate complex cations of the general formula [(C₆F₅)₂SbL₃]³⁺ stabilized as solid salts in combination with tetraphenylborate (BPh₄), tetrafluorobroate (BF₄) anions, where L=DMSO, Ph₃AsO, PyO, DMF, α-, β- and γ-picoline have been isolated. The newly formed complexes were characterized by elemental analysis, molar conductance measurements, solid-state IR and and NMR. From these results, a five-fold coordination around antimony was required.     

α,ω-Diisocyanatocarbodiimides, -Polycarbodiimides,and Their Derivatives

Research in the field of low-molecular weight, oligomeric and polymeric α,ω-diisocyanatocarbodiimides and -polycarbodiimides has been fruitful, not only in connection with these compounds themselves, but also—as so often happens in chemistry—with quite different problems. Novel synthetic methods, discoveries concerning the properties of low-molecular weight carbodiimides and phosphane imide derivatives, as well as results on the fragmentation reactions of four-membered heterocyclic compounds containing oxygen, phosphorus, and nitrogen, and a better understanding of the diisocyanate polyaddition process are among the many by-products of this research. The “high- and low-temperature formation” of polycarbodiimides and the homogeneous and heterogeneous catalysis of this process are described, and the fundamental importance of four-membered ring fragmentation mechanisms resulting in the formation of phosphane imide derivatives is outlined. Interesting building blocks for the diisocyanate polyaddition and polycondensation processes can be synthesized by many derivatization reactions of oligomeric and high-molecular weight polycarbodiimides and polyuretonimines. The in situ production of polycarbodiimides via matrix reactions in flexible polyurethane foams leads to a cellular arrangement of the material due to the pronounced symmetrical growth processes. Combination-foams with increased carbonation tendencies are formed in this way. Attention is drawn to several industrial applications of α,ω-diisocyanatopolycarbodiimides, of high-molecular weight cross-linked polyuretonimines, and of polycarbodiimide foams.     

Selective Oxidation of Betulin by Cr(VI) Reagents

Oxidation of betulin by pyridinium dichromate, pyridinium chlorochromate, and K₂Cr₂O₇ -H₂SO₄ in the presence of tetrabutylammonium bromide was studied. Products of regioselective C-3, C-28-, and exhaustive oxidation, 28-hydroxylup-20(29)-3-one, 3-hydroxy- and 3-oxolup-20(29)-en-28-al were obtained.     

Derivatization of carboxylic acids with 9-bromomethylacridine using micellar phase-transfer catalysis

Summary Micellar phase-transfer catalysis (MPTC) offers the opportunity to derivatize carboxylic acids directly in an aqueous matrix without prior extraction of the acids into a suitable aprotic solvent. The currently developed MPTC system consists of a non-ionic surfactant, Arkopal N-130, an ion-pair agent, tetrakis-(decyl)-ammonium bromide, and a novel fluorescence reagent, 9-bromomethylacridine. The MPTC system can be applied to the derivatization of many types of carboxylic acids. The reaction rate is affected by the lipophilicity of the acid and by the presence of other functional groups. For lipophilic carboxylic acids the reaction is complete within 5 min at 60°C and pH 7.0.     

Morphology Control over the Organic Nanoparticles of 1,3-Diphenyl-5-（9-anthryl）-2-pyrazoline

The organic nanoparticles of a blue-light-emitting molecule, 1,3-diphenyl-5-(9-anthryl)-2-pyrazuline, were prepared by reprecipitation method using acetonitrile as the solvent for the molecular precursor. Three morphologies, spherical, doughnut-shaped and cubic, could be observed on the silicon substrate forthe nanoparfides by the volume-controlled addition of acetonitrile. The evolution of particle morphology as a function of acetonitrile addition was attributed to the variation of the growth habits of the particles in the different environment. The nanoparticles exhibit the novel photoluminescence spectra as compared to those of monomer and the bulk crystals.

研究了第二过渡金属化合物对ＴｉＣｌ４／ＡｌｅＴ１．４６ｃＬ１．５４催化丁二烯环化三聚的多金属协同效应。结果表明，极少量的第二过渡金属化合物，如Ｃｒ，（ａｃａｃ）３，Ｍｎ（ａｃａｃ）３，ＮｉＣｌ２，ＺｒＣｌ４等加入ＴｉＣｌ４／ＡｌＥｔ１．４６Ｃｌ１．５４体系后不同程度地提高了丁二烯环化三聚的选择性，并改变了体系的最大速率和催化剂效率。     

A Convenient Synthesis of Phosphorines and Phospholidins by <Emphasis Type="Italic">Lawesson</Emphasis>’s Reagent and Microwave Irradiation

Summary. A new and simple method for the synthesis of 1,3,2-diazaphosphorines and 1,3,2-oxazaphosphorine was developed based on the reactions of Lawessons reagent with -aminopropionitriles and -hydroxypropionitrile. In addition, a rapid and facile synthesis of 1,3,2-diazaphospholidin-4-ones by the reaction of P(NEt₂)₃ with hindered diamino substrates under microwave irradiation was also achieved. The prepared phosphorines show herbicidal activity to some extent in the preliminary bioassays.     

Voltammetric Behavior of Water‐Soluble Endohedral Metallofullerene Derivatives

Voltammetric behavior of water‐soluble endohedral metallofullerene derivatives Gd@C₈₂(OH)₅(NHCH₂COOH)₉ (GN) and Gd@C₈₂(OH)₆(NHCH₂CH₂SO₃H)₈ (GS) was characterized in 0.1 M KCl solution by CV and DPV. They showed similar redox behavior, that is, a reversible electroreduction process on HMDE was found; in the mean time, an irreversible oxidation process and an irreversible reduction process on GC electrodes were also observed. The results reveal that these two water‐soluble endohedral metallofullerene derivatives have good electron donating ability and poor electron accepting ability due to hydroxy groups, aminoacetic acid and aminoethyl sulfonic acid connected to the C₈₂ cage in comparison with Gd@C₈₂.
