We present a novel model to simulate real social networks of complex
interactions, based in a system of colliding particles
(agents).
The network is build by keeping track of the collisions and evolves in
time with correlations which emerge due to the mobility of the agents.
Therefore, statistical features are a consequence only of local
collisions among its individual agents.
Agent dynamics is realized by an event-driven algorithm of collisions
where energy is gained as opposed to physical systems which have
dissipation.
The model reproduces empirical data from networks of sexual

The derivation of the space averaged Navier–Stokes equations for the large eddy simulation (LES) of turbulent incompressible flows introduces two groups of terms which do not depend only on the space averaged flow field variables: the divergence of the Reynolds stress tensor and commutation errors. Whereas the former is studied intensively in the literature, the latter terms are usually neglected. This note studies the asymptotic behaviour of these terms for the turbulent channel flow at a wall in the case that the commutation errors arise from the application of a non‐uniform box filter. To perform analytical calculations, the unknown flow field is modelled by a wall law (Reichardt law and 1/αth power law) for the mean velocity profile and highly oscillating functions model the turbulent fluctuations. The asymptotics show that near the wall, the commutation errors are at least as important as the divergence of the Reynolds stress tensor. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Algebraic dichotomies with an application to the stability of Riemann solutions of conservation laws

Recently, there has been some interest on the stability of waves where the functions involved grow or decay at an algebraic rate m|x|. In this paper we define the so-called algebraic dichotomy that may aid in treating such problems. We discuss the basic properties of the algebraic dichotomy, methods of detecting it, and calculating the power of the weight function.We present several examples: (1) The Bessel equation. (2) The n-degree Fisher type equation. (3) Hyperbolic conservation laws in similarity coordinates. (4) A system of conservation laws with a Dafermos type viscous regularization. We show that the linearized system generates an analytic semigroup in the space of algebraic decay functions. This example motivates our work on algebraic dichotomies. 相似文献

Bessel-type convolution algebras of measures on the matrix cones of positive semidefinite q×q-matrices over ?,?,? were introduced recently by Rösler. These convolutions depend on a continuous parameter, generate commutative hypergroups, and have Bessel functions of matrix argument as characters. In this paper, we study the algebraic structure of these hypergroups. In particular, the subhypergroups, quotients, and automorphisms are classified. The algebraic properties are partially related to the properties of random walks on these matrix Bessel hypergroups. In particular, known properties of Wishart distributions, which form Gaussian convolution semigroups on these hypergroups, are put into a new light. Moreover, limit theorems for random walks are presented. In particular, we obtain strong laws of large numbers and a central limit theorem with Wishart distributions as limits. 相似文献

In this paper we use cohomology of Lie algebras to study the variety of laws associated with filiform Lie algebras of a given
dimension. As the main result, we describe a constructive way to find a small set of polynomials which define this variety.

We investigate the derivation of semilinear relaxation systems and scalar conservation laws from a class of stochastic interacting particle systems. These systems are Markov jump processes set on a lattice, they satisfy detailed mass balance (but not detailed balance of momentum), and are equipped with multiple scalings. Using a combination of correlation function methods with compactness and convergence properties of semidiscrete relaxation schemes we prove that, at a mesoscopic scale, the interacting particle system gives rise to a semilinear hyperbolic system of relaxation type, while at a macroscopic scale it yields a scalar conservation law.
