The primordial radionuclides activity concentrations (226Ra, 40K and 232Th) are measured in some granite samples in this study. The collected granite materials are analyzed with NaI(Tl) gamma-ray spectrometry. The specific activity of 226Ra, 232Th and 40K values are in range 2.60?±?0.10 to 178.9?±?0.6?Bq?kg?1, 1.46?±?0.10 to 162.50?±?0.75?Bq?kg?1 and 19.8?±?0.3 to 579.7?±?2.8?Bq?kg?1 respectively. The radium’s equivalent activity, annual effective dose, absorbed dose rate, hazard index, radioactivity level index, activity utilization’s index and exposure rate are calculated for determination of radiological risk. The concentration of 226Ra (in the 71.4% of samples), 232Th (in the 71.4% of samples) and 40K (in the 14.3% of samples) in the granite samples are higher than average radioactivity concentrations of this radio-isotopes defined by ICRP (35.0, 30.0 and 400.0?Bq?kg?1, respectively). 相似文献

The 1-Mb and 4-Mb commercial toggle magnetoresistive random-access memories(MRAMs) with 0.13 μm and 0.18-μm complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor(CMOS) process respectively and different magnetic tunneling junctions(MTJs) are irradiated with a Cobalt-60 gamma source. The electrical functions of devices during the irradiation and the room temperature annealing behavior are measured. Electrical failures are observed until the dose accumulates to 120-krad(Si) in 4-Mb MRAM while the 1-Mb MRAM keeps normal. Thus, the 0.13-μm process circuit exhibits better radiation tolerance than the 0.18-μm process circuit. However, a small quantity of read bit-errors randomly occurs only in 1-Mb MRAM during the irradiation while their electrical function is normal. It indicates that the store states of MTJ may be influenced by gamma radiation, although the electrical transport and magnetic properties are inherently immune to the radiation. We propose that the magnetic Compton scattering in the interaction of gamma ray with magnetic free layer may be the origin of the read bit-errors. The total ionizing dose(TID) response of 65-nm CMOS transistors is studied by 10-ke V x-ray and 3-Me V protons up to 1 Grad(SiO_2) total dose.The degradation levels induced by the two radiation sources are different to some extent.The main reason is the interface dose enhancement due to the thin gate oxide and the low energy photons.The holes' recombination also contributes to the difference.Compared to these two mechanisms,the influence of the dose rate is negligible. 相似文献

With recent breakthroughs in camera and image processing technologies single-particle electron cryo-microscopy(CryoEM) has suddenly gained the attention of structural biologists as a powerful tool able to solve the atomic structures of biological complexes and assemblies. Compared with x-ray crystallography, Cryo EM can be applied to partially flexible structures in solution and without the necessity of crystallization, which is especially important for large complexes and assemblies. This review briefly explains several key bottlenecks for atomic resolution Cryo EM, and describes the corresponding solutions for these bottlenecks based on the recent technical advancements. The thermoluminescence properties of white (WJ) and green (GJ) mineral jadeite have been investigated with a view to be of use in high dose dosimetry. WJ presented glow curve with 110, 190 and 235 °C peaks. All these peaks grow with radiation dose. The glow curve of GJ the green variety has TL peaks at 140, 210, 250 and 330 °C. We also observed that there is a difference between the TL glow curves for both samples, irradiated with gamma and electron. As expected the green jadeite can be used for measurement of dose as high as 50 kGy. 相似文献

The increasing complexity and high amount of dose per fraction delivered in prostate high dose rate (HDR) brachytherapy treatments call for the implementation of accurate and effective methods for the systematic and independent quality control of the overall treatment procedure. In this study, MOSkin detectors were placed on a trans-rectal ultrasound (TRUS) probe with the aim of performing both imaging and real time rectal wall in vivo dosimetry with the use of just one single instrument. After an adequate calibration of the detectors, which was carried out in a solid water phantom, the use of MOSkins integrated to the TRUS probe was studied in a gel phantom with a typical (simplified) prostate implant. Measured and calculated doses from the treatment planning system were compared, with a resulting very low average discrepancy of −0.6 ± 2.6%. The results are very promising and of particular clinical importance, however, further in vivo investigation is planned to validate the proposed method. 相似文献

A passive neutron area monitor has been designed using Monte Carlo methods; the monitor is a polyethylene cylinder with pairs of thermoluminescent dosimeters (TLD600 and TLD700) as thermal neutron detector. The monitor was calibrated with a bare and a thermalzed 241AmBe neutron sources and its performance was evaluated measuring the ambient dose equivalent due to photoneutrons produced by a 15 MV linear accelerator for radiotherapy and the neutrons in the output of a TRIGA Mark III radial beam port. 相似文献

The use of building materials containing naturally occurring radionuclides such as^40K,^238U,^232Th and their progeny, could lead to external exposures to the residents of such buildings. In this paper, a set of models are constructed to calculate the specific effective dose rates(the effective dose rate per Bq/kg of ^40K, the ^238U series,and the ^232Th series) imposed on residents by building materials with the MCNPX code. The effect of chemical composition, position concerned in the room and thickness as well as density of material is analyzed. In order to facilitate more precise assessment of indoor external dose due to gamma-emitting radionuclides in building materials,three regressive expressions are proposed and validated by measured data to calculate specific effective rates for40 K,the238U series and the232 Th series, respectively. 相似文献
